1.  Praise be to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who appointeth the angels messengers having wings two, three and four. He multiplieth in creation what He will. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things. 1.  ‘Al-Hamdu  Lillaahi  Faatiris-Samaawaati  wal-‘arzi  jaa-‘ilil-malaaa-‘ikati  rusulan  ‘uliii-  ‘ajnihatim-masnaa  wa  sulaasa  wa  rubaa’.  Yaziidu  fil-khalqi  maa  yashaaa’.  ‘InnAllaaha  ‘alaa  kulli  shay-‘in-  Qadiir.

Commentary

Faatir – (The Creator), it is the Subject from the word fatara. Fatara means “to bring out any new thing from the existing one, to create a new thing without having any sample”.

‘Ajnihatin – (wings), this word is plural from janaahun, which has passed in Suratul-‘An-‘aam. It aims “wings and arms”.

It is commanded: Entire Excellences are only in Allaah Almighty. Therefore you should praise to Him every time. If you wish to see the pattern of His Omnipotence, you should look over your head – the sky, and below your feet – the earth. All such things are created by Him and He produced the creatures of all kinds among them. In all there are Angels (peace be upon them) between them, to whom Allaah Almighty has created for conveying His Message. They deliver the Revelations of Allaah Almighty to the Prophets (peace be upon them) for guidance of the human beings. Some of them are those Angels who manage the system of entire universe. They transmit the Commandments of Allaah Almighty to His creatures every time and all things begin to do their work according to those Commandments. The clouds cause to rain water, the sun provides heat and light; the winds blow on different directions, the land produces grains, fruit and vegetables etc. The angels have power of flying. Some of them have two wings; some have three and some four wings. Allaah Almighty increases any body part or attribute in the creature He desires and takes work from that creature in accordance with His will. Everything is in His Divine Power and brings all things in use as He desires. There is none who may prevent Him.

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

This is Thirty Fifth Chapter in Order of Holy Qur’an which was revealed during preliminary days of stay at Makkah. It contains Five Sections. Oneness of God (Allaah Almighty) has been proved in it and ascribing plurality to Allaah has been revoked. Allaah Almighty created skies and earth by His Perfect Power, settled the mankind on the earth, appointed His Prophets (peace be upon them) for the guidance of human beings, sent His Message of Guidance by means of Angels towards the Prophets (peace be upon them), gave power of flying to the Angels (peace be upon them) between the skies and the earth by creating their wings from two to four, and bestowed more than sufficient to whom He willed.

Whatsoever He desires to bestow to His slaves by His mercy, there is no one who may prevent Him or snatch from Him. And there is none who may give something to someone if He desire to block. He is the Most Powerful and knows the reality of everything. The human beings should know His blessings. There is none save Him who may give provision. So the entire mankind should worship Him only. The Messengers (peace be upon them) came to rouse the human beings from the sleep of carelessness, but most of the people considered that those were liars. O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him): It will not be any new thing if these people falsify you also (Let us flee to God).

O People! That is True whatsoever Allaah Almighty has described. Being involved in worldly matters; you should not forget Him. Satan is your enemy, so if you will follow him, he will carry you to the Fire. Some people consider that they are doing well whereas they are at wrong. You should believe in Allaah Almighty and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). Signs of His Divine Power have been spreading everywhere in the world. Every living being is helpless and disabled before Him. Every individual is responsible of personal deeds. No one will lift burden of any other but own. Punishment of wicked deeds is given even sometimes in the world, but it is certain that every wrongdoer will be punished in the Hereafter.

Everything which exists in this Qur’an is Divine Revelation. It confirms Old Scriptures. For its care, We have appointed the followers of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). They will be sent to the Garden after death who from them will be good and they will be grateful to Allaah Almighty after entering into the Paradise.

Allaah Almighty will preserve this world up to a prescribed period, although evil days of disobedient people will pursue to ruin it. Respite will be given to them till the last Day and on that Day all human beings will be judged.

Abstract

Quran Chapter 34: Summary (Pt-22, Stg-5) (L-2664) درس قرآن

Abstract

Chapter “SABAA’” – (Saba) – 34

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Attention of every mankind is drawn that everything which exists in the heavens and in the earth; is of Allaah Almighty. He is Aware of reality and conditions of all things. All excellences are of Him only. Therefore, everyone should praise Him. He knows all states of every that thing which descends from or ascends towards the heavens, which comes out from the earth or which enters into it. Every movement in the universe is by His Command. He overlooks the errors, so the system of the world has been running. Refusing the Day of Resurrection is useless, Which shall come certainly because the righteous people are required to be separated from the wrongdoers, and every individual should be paid reward of good deeds or punished due to wrong deeds. Record of every individual’s all works is available with Allaah Almighty. There is no such thing which would not have been recorded. Those people will gain nothing save painful Doom who try to overpower the Commands of Allaah Almighty. They understand well who know that Holy Qur’an is Right. They have been steeped in error who have doubt in bringing back to life again after death and do not accept the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). They observe that many things are produced, destroyed and reproduced in the world. They should understand from it if they have sense that like this the mankind also will be reproduced after destruction. And only those people will be successful in the Hereafter who will incline towards Allaah Almighty.

For manifesting the conduct of good people, circumstances of Prophets David and Solomon (peace be upon them) have been described that they were grateful slaves of Allaah Almighty. His grace and blessings were and are with them. The people of Sheba were ungrateful. They did not value the favors of Allaah Almighty, so they were ruined. Most of the people are led astray by Satan though he does not have so much power that he may compel any individual to obey him. Allaah Almighty is Absolute Owner. He does not have any partner and nor He can be compelled to accept recommendation of any other. However He can give permission to anyone for this purpose. Even the Angels (peace be upon them) can do nothing without His permission.

Know Allaah Almighty correctly! He has sent His last Messenger, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) for the guidance of the entire human beings of the entire world. Those will dispute with one another on the Day of Resurrection who do not believe in it. Weak people will say to the strong people: You misguided us. We have been entangled in the torment due to your presence. They will reply: What did we do? You yourselves went astray. But this dispute will be useless because every individual who did wrong; will be punished. In the Hereafter, children and wealth will not be of use. Only personal good deeds will be asked. Gods of idolaters will put off their adorers on the Day of Resurrection. Those will say: You were not our slaves but the slaves of your personal desires, so you should suffer the result of your wicked deeds.

Every mankind should understand the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) and follow him. He is quite true Messenger. Only that belief will be useful which one will have in the life of this world, otherwise every individual will believe after looking the torment of the Hereafter. But Belief of that time will have no advantage.

Commentary

It is commanded: When a good chance of believing was provided to them during their worldly life, they did not reap advantage from that opportunity. They denied Our all Commandments which were conveyed to them by Our Prophets (Peace be upon them) and they conjectured. They disbelieved in the Truth and used to throw arrows of their opinions from a place far away. No target can be hit without guidance.

It was the Straightway that they had to obey and believe in the Sayings of Our Prophets (Peace be upon them) during their life of the world. When they saw every unseen thing physically in the life after death, about which Our Messengers (Peace be upon them) informed them in the world, then they accepted and believed. But that acceptance and belief cannot save them from the Doom and that time’s desire of deliverance will entirely be useless. Hope of going back again in the world cannot be fulfilled. Longing of luxury is useless. A hindrance has been grown between them and their entire desires, wishes and longings. Now they will be treated as was done for the people of their kind of old. They also were in hopeless doubt concerning the matters explained by the Prophets, and they never were satisfied from them. At last they remained away from the Belief and deserved punishment. The same Resurrection will be of these people.

51.  Couldst thou but see when they are terrified with no escape, and are seized from near at hand-

52.  And say: We (now) believe therein. But how can they reach (faith) from afar off.

51.  Wa  law  taraaa  ‘iz  fazi-‘uu  falaa  fawta  wa  ‘ukhizuu  mim-makaanin-  qariib.

52.  Wa  qaaluuu  ‘aamannaa  bih.  Wa  ‘annaa  lahumut-tanaa-wushu  mim-makaanim-  ba-‘iid.

Commentary

Tanaa-wushu – (to catch by reaching, to claw), origin of this word is nawash, which means “to run or fly at, to spring”.

It was commanded: These people do neither choose the Straight Path in the world, nor believe in Allaah almighty and nor have trust in His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). After hearing his words they say: this person has left the path of ancestors and (God forbid) has been erring.  Allaah Almighty instructed to him (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) that he should answer to the people: If I err, I err only to my own loss. But if I am rightly guided, then at last; I shall get victory and my opponents will be defeated.

It is commanded: They can use their Will in this world, but on the Day of Resurrection they will not be able to do as they desire. They will lose their senses when they will see the terrible scene of that Day. They will run hither and thither in search of shelter and to save themselves, but they will find no place of salvation. Safety by running away will not be possible. We would not have to run behind them, but nearby Angels (peace be upon them) will seize them. At that time their eyes will be opened and they will say: The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) spoke the truth, and now we believe in it.

But Belief of that occasion would not be acceptable because having belief in the Unseen (in the life of this world only) is acceptable. Time of believing at that occasion would have been over.

Commentary

Previously it was commanded: Say to them that the time of ignorance and self-invented matters has passed. Now Allaah Almighty has been sending down the words of understanding and a heavy shower of the Truth continually. He has made full arrangements of mankind’s guidance at suitable time because He is Aware of all secrets and philosophies.

It has been commanded in this verse: The Truth has come, and the falsehood has been ruined. Power of the Just overcame, but the false has been suppressed. Falsehood has no power that it may create something or bring the dead to life again.

The people who have been saying: You have played tricks, left the path of forefathers and chosen the wrong path, say to such people: If I have been erring, I shall be punished properly due to my errors. There is no loss of yours in it. As my worldly life will be spoiled, like this I shall not be in peace even after death (God forbid). Think for awhile! Why have I been supporting the new Religion so much? Its main reason is it that my Lord has been sending down Divine Revelation towards me continuously. He does not let me go astray. I have full faith that I am at the Right Path. My Way is Correct and Straight.

I pray in His Court: my Lord! Show me the Right Path. He hears and accepts my prayer, because He is The Hearer for all living beings. He is with me every time and Nigh. He hears me, shall hear always and help me every time.

Commentary

Messengers of Allaah Almighty (peace be upon them) do not serve the human beings and are not their well-wishers for the purpose that they wish to reap advantage from it. They do not have any concern with it that the people should admit that they are their chiefs, stand before them with folded hands and produce good gifts before them. Most of the people of Makkah used to consider the same about the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon them). It has clearly been negated in this verse.

It is commanded: Say to them! I did never claim that you should accept me as your leader, admit my authority and dwell as my servants. If you think that I have demanded anything any time from you, then I say to you clearly that I am not needy of your any such thing. I am desirous to raise up your dignity from your lower state, which is advantageous for yourselves. Allaah Almighty will give me reward of this duty. I desire nothing from any other save Him. He has the remuneration of my work and He will bestow me by His kindness. He has been watching my work, because everything is present before Him. It is a best opportunity for you.

Allaah Almighty is The Beneficent, Who has been projecting the True Religion with liberality upon you by means of Divine Revelation. He knows all that which is hidden from the eyes of the mankind. He is Aware of all the Unseen.

Commentary

The people desire to remain engaged in their personal works and pastimes. If they are informed about any useful matter, they do not like to hear it, because they consider that whatever they have been doing is quite right, whereas there is a need of its correction, so that it may not harm them. For such people, it is being commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) that he should say to them: I advise you only for it that you should give up thinking selfishness and personal benefits, stand up for the Cause of Allaah Almighty, leave the religious persecution, and meditate in this matter individually as well as collectively that this Man; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him), who is your best friend and companion, who has been dwelling between you for forty years continuously, you are convinced of his honesty, trust, kindness upon the poor and sympathy. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) did never try to harm anyone of you. Can you think now that he has become mad in a state of ease and comfort, that he describes you such matters which are useful for you? He did never claim from you for his chief-ship, honor and authority. He has been terrifying you only from the severe Doom, before it’s falling upon you suddenly due to your wicked deeds. He has been saying to you: O slaves of Allaah! Get ready for escaping from the terrific punishment, otherwise if you did not care; then it will seize you suddenly.

Commentary

It was described earlier that these people do not wish to turn away from the customs of their ancestors and do not bear to hear against it. They should think that who have told them to admire the manners of their forefathers? It is not necessary that their way was right. That way of life is quite correct which was established by Prophets (peace be upon them) with effect from the beginning to the end, and which the disbelievers do not have.

It has been commanded in this verse: Who did command them to follow the customs of ancient people? We did neither send any Scripture towards them before this (Holy Qur’an) and nor any Messenger have come to them before (Our) this {Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him)}, who would have frightened them from the consequence of wicked deeds and guided them towards the right path. It is the first time that We have sent this Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) for their guidance. If now, these people belie him then their condition is the same as of the old people who used to live on this land during their times. They falsified their Prophets (peace be upon them) and these have been committing the same error.

It is commanded: As they disagreed to their Creator, so you see how did We punish them. They were stronger than these people physically, had more wealth than these and they lived long contrary to these people. These people (of Makkah) have not attained a tenth of those luxurious things which We had given them. While they could not prosper after falsifying Our Prophets (peace be upon them), then how can these people be saved from Our seizure after falsifying Muhammad, Our last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him). So they should take it a warning for themselves.

Considering the Truth as evident magic

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

43.  And when Our Revelations are recited unto them in plain terms, they say: This is naught else than a man who would turn you away from what your fathers used to worship; and they say: This is naught else than an invented lie. And those who disbelieve say of the Truth when it reached them: This is naught else than evident magic. 43.  Wa  ‘izaa  tutlaa  ‘alayhim  ‘AayaatuNaa  Bayyinaatin  qaaluu  maa  haazaaa  ‘illaa  raju-luny-yuriidu  ‘any-yasuddakum  ‘ammaa  kaana  ya’-budu  ‘aa-baaa-‘ukum.  Wa  qaaluu  maa  haazaaa  ‘illaaa  ‘ifkum-muftaraa.  Wa  qaalal-laziina  kafaruu  lil-Haqqi  lammaa  jaaa-‘ahum.  ‘In  haazaaa  ‘illaa  sihrum-mubiin.

Commentary

Tutlaa – (are recited), this word is from tilaawatun.

Muftaran – (self-invented), it is the Passive Participle from the word ‘iftaraa’, origin of which is faraya.

It is commanded: When clear verses of Holy Qur’an are recited before those people then they say concerning Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him): “He (God forbid) is neither a Messenger and nor a Prophet, but is (God forbid) a selfish man, who desires to remove old customs and traditions by introducing own words. He desires to get you released from adoration of those gods; of whom your forefathers used to adore, so that he may become your Chieftain. And about the Qur’an is it that false stories have been included in it and he says that it is the Word of Allah”.

It is commanded: Behold these disbelievers! When pure and true Revelations reached them and began to draw attention of the common people, then they began to say: These are nothing (God forbid) but obvious magic which fascinates the hearts of the listeners. No reality exists in the verses of Qur’an and their entire impression will scamper off after a few days.
