ISIS is going astray, contrary to Islam

ISIS is going astray, contrary to Islam

aaaaaa

I examined a meme that attempted to show the Qur’an contains hate-speech towards nonbelievers. The Qur’an is not even close to hate-speech to non-Muslims. This one takes a few passages from the Qur’an and titles itself “ISIS & Radical Islam’s Daily Devotional.” The issue here is not only whether the group that calls itself the “Islamic State” correctly interprets and implements Qur’anic teachings, but whether these verses, prima facie, mean what this meme-maker thinks they do. I will not be addressing every verse here, but some of them. (Extract from Ro Waseem’s text duly amended)

  • Slay the unbelievers wherever you find them.

Full rendering of the Verses of the Noble Quran

Original Verse # 2:191

Waq-tuluuhum  hay-su  saqif-tumuuhum  wa  ‘akhrijuu-hum-min  hay-su  ‘akhrajuukum  wal-fitnatu  ‘ashaddu  minal-qatl. Wa  laa  tuqaatiluuhum  ‘indal-Masjidil  Haraami  hattaa  yu-qaatiluukum  fiih.  Fa-‘in  qaataluukum  faqtuluuhum.  Kazaalika  jazaaa-‘ul-Kaafiriin.

Correct Translationof the verse # 2:191

“And slay them wherever you find them and drive them out of the places whence they have expelled you, for persecution is worse than killing. And do not fight with them at al-Masjid al-Haram (Inviolable Place of Worship) until they first attack you there. But if they attack you (there), then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.”

by Ro Waseem  vide:  http://www.patheos.com/blogs/quranalyzeit/2015/06/09/isis-and-radical-islam-an-atheist-examines-a-stupid-meme-kile-jones/

First, a few things to notice: “Expel them from wherever they have expelled you” [italics mine].  “Do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram (the “Grand Mosque” in Mecca) until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them” [italics mine]. Does anyone else notice how this verse is not asking Muslims to preemptively kill? Doesn’t this sound more like self-defense?

This falls in line with what 22:40-41 says,

“Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged… Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly only because they said, ‘Our Lord is God’ — And if God did not repel some men by means of others, there would surely have been pulled down temples and churches and synagogues and mosques.”

Wait–Temples, churches, and synagogues? It’s almost as if the Qur’an is for defending other religions in times of war.

For instance, notice who is killing and attacking first in 3:21,

“Those who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and kill the prophets without right and kill those who order justice from among the people – give them tidings of a painful punishment.”

Also, at the end of 2:193 it says,

“But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.”

Except against oppressors. You heard it.

2)     “Muslims must not take infidels as friends.”

Original Verse # 3:28

Laa  yattakhizil-Mu’-mi-nuunal-Kaafiriina  ‘awliyaaa-‘a  min-duunil-Mu’-miniin.  Wa  many-yaf-‘al  zaalika  fa-laysa  minAllaahi  fii  shay-‘in  ‘illaaa  ‘an-tattaquu  minhum  tuqaah.  Wa  yuhazziru-kumUllaahu  Nafsah.  Wa  ‘ilAllaahil-masiir.

Correct Translationof the verse # 3:28

“Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference to believers. And whoso [of you] does that has no connection with Allah, unless (it be) that ye but guard yourselves against them, taking (as it were) security. And Allah biddith you beware (only) of Himself, and unto Allah is the (journey) [final] destination.”

by Ro Waseem

Does anyone else notice the “rather than believers” part? Or how about the “except when taking precaution against them in prudence”? I wonder what other Qur’anic passages say about this:

60:8: “Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” What if I told Muslims might even have been granted permission to eat with and possibly marry Christians and Jews (“People of the Book”)? Check out 5:5: “This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers.”

Let’s put it this way, if this meme is correct on face value, all the Muslims I know would not be following the Quran.

3)    “Any religion other than Islam is not acceptable.”

Original Verse # 3:85

Wa  many-yabtagi  gayral-‘Islaami  Diinan-  falany-yuqbala  minh.  Wa  huwa  fil-‘Aakhirati  minal-khaasiriin.

Correct Translationof the verse # 3:85

“And whoso seeketh other than Islam (the Surrender to Allah) as religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.”

by Ro Waseem

Using this verse as a way to support the conclusion that ISIS interprets the Qur’an correctly seems quite mistaken. This says nothing about military action or violence. It is theologically, not militarily, focused. If you don’t believe me, read the few verses following 85 and tell me it’s not theological.

4)     “Maim and crucify the infidels if they criticize Islam.”

 Original Verse # 5:33

‘Innamaa  jazaaa-‘ullaziina  yuhaa-ribuu-nAllaaha  wa  RasuulaHuu  wa  yas-‘awna  fil-‘arzi  fasaadan  ‘any-yuqattaluuu  ‘aw  yusallabuu  ‘aw tuqatta-’a  ‘aydii-him  wa  ‘arjuluhum-min  khilaafin  ‘aw yunfaw  minal-‘arz.  Zaalika  lahum  khiz-yun-  fid-dunyaa  wa lahum  fil- ‘Aakhirati  ‘azaabun  ‘aziim.

Correct Translationof the verse # 5:33

“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment (an awful doom).”

by Ro Waseem

Notice the initial instigator of violence: “Those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger.” Now, I’m no fan of crucifying or lobbing of the hands and feet of enemy offenders, but this is certainly not something particular to Muslims during that time. See what happened to Sumayyah bint Khayyat, Bilal the Abyssinian, or what the Quraysh leadership did to other early Muslims. But this is no tit-for-tat argument. It’s merely pointing to historical context.

Most importantly, I want you to read verse 32: “Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors” [italics mine].

So does this verse advocate crucifying and maiming infidels at all times and in all places? No. Does it say to early Muslims, during a war in which they are on the defensive, that they could corporeally punish their oppressors? Possibly. Either way, this is not the same thing this meme attempts to express.

5)     “Muslims must muster all weapons to terrorize the infidels.”

Original Verse # 8:60

Wa  ‘a-‘idduu  lahum-mastata’-tum-min-  quwwatinw-wa  mir-ribaatil-khayli  turhabuuna  bihii  ‘aduw-wAllaahi  wa  ‘aduw-wa-kum  wa  ‘aakhariina  min-  duunihim.  Laa  ta’-lamuunahum.  Allaahu  ya’-lamuhum.  Wa  maa  tunfiquu  min-  shay-‘in  fii  Sabii-LIllaahi  yu-waffa  ‘ilaykum  wa  ‘antum  laa  tuzlamuun.

Correct Translationof the verse # 8:60

“And make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatsoever you spend in the cause of Allah, it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.”

by Ro Waseem

If only people would read the following verse, which says, “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah.” Preparing for oppression to spark fear in oppressors is not the same as a preemptive strike. This is most certainly not what ISIS is doing.

6)     “Make war on the infidels living in your neighborhood.”

Original Verse # 9:123

Yaaa-‘ayyu-hallaziina  ‘aamanuu  qaati-lullaziina  ya-luunakum-minal-kuffaari  wal-yajiduu  fii-kum  gilzah.  Wa’-lamuuu  ‘annAllaaha  ma-‘al-Muttaqiin.

Correct Translationof the verse # 9:123

“O you who have believed, fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness. And know that Allah is with (those who keep their duty unto Him) the righteous.”

Not only is this Surah dealing with treaties and rules of war (see preceding verse), it’s also about the suffering of early Muslims. Verse 128 says, “There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you.” Muslims were suffering, on the defensive, and having to prepare for attacks. They were not doing what ISIS is doing now. (Also read Qasim Rashid’s amazing piece on Muhammed’s rules of war and Jeremiah Bowden’s excellent piece on war and jihad.)

by Ro Waseem

Now, I’m no scholar of Islamic military jurisprudence (“Fiqh”), but it doesn’t take one to see how misleading this meme is.

Family of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

Family of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

823214a110a5233986876b48d2873a8f

Let us take a brief look into the family tree of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). The purpose of talking on this topic is that by the end of this discussion we should be able to know / identify the close family members of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), without going in to details about them. Detailed discussion about personality traits of each of them may be dealt with at some other time, Insha’Allah, taking each individual at a time.

  1. Parents of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

Prophet’s father was Abdullah, who was the son of Abdul Muttalib. Prophet’s mother was Aamena, daughter of Wahb Ibn Abd Manāf. His father died before he was born. He was suckled by Halimah As-Sa’diyyah. Prophet’s mother died when he was six years old. After that his grandfather took care of him. But he too died when the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was eight years old. After that his uncle, Abu Tālib, maintained him, took care of him in the best possible way and supported him greatly when he was enlightened with Prophethood. However, Abu Tālib remained a polytheist till death.

  1. Wives of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) had more than one wife. Along with talking about his wives, we shall throw some light on the rationale behind each of his marriages.

B.1. Khadija bint Khuwailid (RA)

She was the first of the Prophet’s wives. The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was twenty five years of age when he married Khadija (RA) who was forty by then. She was a widow when he married her and they lived twenty five years together. She is one of the greatest women known to the mankind. The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) loved her a lot and he did not marry any other woman during her life. She died one year and a half before the emigration to Madinah.

The reason behind Prophet’s marriage to Khadija was only that he wanted a pure and a chaste woman as his life partner.

B.2. Sawdah bint Zam’ah (RA)

Shortly after Khadija’s death, Prophet’s uncle Abu Talib died. The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) became alone at the loss of two of his close companions. On the other hand, when Sawdah’s husband, As-Sakran, died, she feared to return to her family lest they may torture her and force her to convert. Being informed about her case, the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) offered to marry her in order to defend her. Moreover, he wanted to honour her and her husband for their strong faith and their immigration in the cause of Allaah. She was fifty five years at the time the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married her. She died during the last days of Umar’s Caliphate.

The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married this solitary and poor widow to be an example before all people to put before their eyes the noble goals behind marriage(s).

B.3. Aishah bint Abu Bakr (RA)

She was the only virgin woman whom the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married. She was daughter of Abu Bakr (RA) and was nine years old when the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married her. He abolished the Pre-Islamic system of brotherhood, where the people were accustomed to befriending one another to such an extent that they could not marry daughters of their friends whom they took as their brothers.

Aishah (RA) went on to become the most knowledgeable of Muslim women in sacred law, religion etc., having married the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) in the second year after Hijrah, becoming one of the dearest wives of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). She related more than two thousand hadiths of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), and after his death, leading figures of the companions of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) would come and ask her for legal opinions. What a great rationale behind such a marriage!

B.4. Hafsa bint Umar (RA)

Hafsa (RA) was widow of Khanis Ibn Hudhaifah, who died in Madinah due to wounds he received during the Battle of Uhud. Umar (RA) offered Uthman Ibn Affan (RA) to marry his daughter, but he apologized. Then Umar (RA) approached Abu Bakr (RA) to marry his daughter; he too didn’t answer him. Umar (RA) was very upset at their refusal. This has been reported in Hadith No. 5122Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 7 in the Book of Nikah, and the narrator is Abdullah Ibn Umar (RA). Then the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married Hafsa (RA) to give equal honours to both of his friends, having married daughters of both.

Hafsa (RA) is the only wife whom Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) divorced, however he revoked the divorce and took her back later.

B.5. Umm Salamah (RA)

Her name was Hind bint Abu Umayyah (from Quraish). She was the first Muslim woman to immigrate to Abyssinia. She had been married to Abdullah Ibn Abd-Al-Asad who was martyred in the Battle of Uhud. When he died, she was sixty five years old. She had two boys and two girls. There was no one who could suffice her after the death of her husband. Therefore, the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) offered to marry her. She first apologized to the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) due to her old age, her orphans and the jealousy she had. But the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) said, “I am older than you and as for jealousy, I will supplicate Allaah to remove it from you, and the orphans will be to Allaah and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).” Thus the wisdom behind this marriage was to look after the widow and her orphan kids. Narrators say that she died during the Caliphate of Yazid Ibn Muawiyah.

B.6. Zaynab bint Jahsh (RA)

She was Prophet’s cousin. The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married her to his adopted son Zaid Ibn Harith (RA). During those times the adopted sons were treated as real sons, with all rights of inheritance etc. Zaid’s marriage with Zaynab (RA) did not turn out happy, due to incompatibility among the two. The result was a divorce. Then Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married Zaynab (RA). She was the only wife whose Waliyy was Allaah, as narrated in following Aayah of Qur’an:

“And remember when you said to him (Zaid bin Harith, RA) on whom Allaah bestowed Grace and you have done favour: ‘Keep your wife to yourself & fear Allaah.’ But you did hide in yourself that which Allaah will make manifest, you did fear the people whereas Allaah had a better right that you should fear Him. So when Zaid had accomplished his desire from her, We gave her to you in marriage, so that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons when the latter have no desire to keep them. And Allaah’s Command must be fulfilled.”

(Aayah No. 37, Surah Al-Ahzab, Chapter No. 33, Holy Qur’an).

Subhan-Allah, the pagan superstition and the taboo about adopted sons had to be destroyed as Allaah willed and this marriage took place as an example.

B.7. Juwairiya bint Al-Harith (RA)

She was married to one of the severest opponents of Islam who was killed during the Battle of Banu Al-Mustalaq. Juwairiya (RA) was taken as a prisoner-of-war. She was under Thabit Ibn Qays, who wrote a contract for her emancipation. She went to the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) for help. Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) offered to marry her, and she said ‘yes’. So, he married her. No sooner did the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) declared his marriage to Juwairiya (RA) the companions of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) came with her tribe and set them free saying, “these prisoners are Prophet’s relatives by marriage.” Then all her people (of her tribe) accepted Islam willingly. Aishah (RA) used to say that there is no other woman who blessed her tribe more than Juwairiya (RA). That was the rationale behind this marriage: to disseminate the word of Allaah all over the world and to multiply the Muslims and the helpers of Islam.

B.8. Umm Habiba bint Abu Sufyan (RA)

She was the widow of Ubaidallaah Ibn Jahsh with whom she escaped to Abyssinia to escape torture. There her husband converted to Christianity and died soon after. She was left alone. Then Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) sent to Negus, the King of Abyssinia, to give him Umm Habiba (RA) in marriage. She agreed in overwhelming happiness.

Therefore, this marriage took place to honour the patient woman, to protect her from trials in religion and to please the hearts of her family.

B.9. Safiyya bint Huyay (RA)

She was daughter of leader of Banu Quraidah (or Banu Nadir). She was taken as a prisoner-of-war after the murder of her husband in the Battle of Khaybar. When she was brought to Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), he said to her, “Your father was a great Jewish enemy to me until Allaah slayed him.” She replied, “Allaah says in Qur’an:

“Say: ‘Shall I seek a lord better other than Allaah, while He is the Lord of all things? No person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then unto your Lord is your return, so He will tell you that wherein you have been differing.”

(Aayah No. 164, Surah Al-An’am, Chapter No. 6, Holy Qur’an).

Then the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) gave her choice of either to be his wife or to return to her family, as two conditions of setting her free. She said, “O Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! I liked Islam and believed you before you invited me. Moreover, I have nothing in Judaism, no father or brother; you have given me a choice between Disbelief and Islam. Allaah and His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) are more beloved to me than return to my tribe.” Then the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married her. Her emancipation was her Mahr.

B.10. Maymuna bint Al-Harith (RA)

She was the widow of Abu Ruham Ibn Abdel Uzza. She was the last wife of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)The motivation behind this marriage was that the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) wanted to attract the people’s hearts to Islam. Maymuna (RA) had many relatives and kin in Banu Hashim and Banu Makhzum. It is said that Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) married Maymuna (RA) while in state of Ihram. However, other narrations tell us that he was not in state of Ihram at the time of marriage and consummation of marriage.

Having talked about Umm-ul-Mu’mineen (RA), let us summarize the goals which were aimed at behind these marriages of our beloved Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

a). Spreading education among women: the situation required that some women should take charge of guiding and teaching other women, specially in feminine matters which they may feel shy to ask the prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), such as marriage affairs, menstruation, child-birth, purification etc.

b). Perfection of legislation: Prophet’s wives narrated more than three thousand hadiths, and this explains it all.

c). Social solidarity: The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) consolidated the bonds of friendship with his companions by marriages.

d). Political aims: The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) gained support of leaders of different tribes from whom he married. Furthermore, they willingly embraced Islam.

e). Humanitarian purposes: Prophet’s marriages were also a mercy to those old women who could not find any care or shelter for themselves and their orphans after the loss of their husbands.

f). Setting up an example for Muslim men and women: Prophet’s behaviour with his wives and in turn the behaviour of Umm-ul-Mu’mineen (RA) with the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and with each other, are examples for us. Muslim men should learn a lesson from our beloved Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) if they come across a situation where they have to marry more than once. Similarly, Muslim women should learn from Umm-ul-Mu’mineen (RA) about how to live with their husbands along with their other wives happily in harmony.

g). Removal of superstitions and things of the Period of Ignorance: Some marriages of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) were supported by verses of Qur’an, thereby removing some of the traditions of Pre-Islamic period of Ignorance.

  1. Surriyyahsof Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

Surriyyah means a favoured female slave taken mainly for copulation (and she may or may not be emancipated). Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) had two Surriyyahs:

C.1. Mariyah Al-Qibtiyyah

She was sent to the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) as a gift from Al-Muqawqis, the ruler of Alexandria and Egypt.

C.2. Rayhanah bint Amr

The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) chose her for himself from Banu Quraidah. Narrators differ in saying that whether he married her or he emancipated her and she returned back to her people.

  1. Children of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) had seven childrenfour daughters and three sonsSix children were from his first wife, Khadija
(RA)one son was from Mariyah Al-Qibtiyyah. All three of his sons died at young age. And except Fatima (RA), all children of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) died before him.

D.1. Children from Khadija (RA)

D.1.1. Al-Qasim

Al-Qasim was Prophet’s eldest son and because of him the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was also called Abul-Qasim.

D.1.2. Zaynab (RA)

She was born ten years before the Prophet-hood of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). She was the eldest daughter of the Prophet (PBUH). She got married to Abu Al-As, her cousin from maternal side, who did not accept Islam at first but became a Muslim later on.

D.1.3. Ruqayyah (RA)

She was born after Zaynab. She was married to Abu Lahab’s son. Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was not a Messenger by then; he accepted the proposal for her daughter’s marriage. After the call for Islam came from Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), Abu Lahab asked his son to divorce Muhammad’s daughter. And the divorce took place. She was then married to Uthman Ibn Affan (RA).

D.1.4. Umm Kulthum (RA)

She was born shortly after Ruqayyah. Therefore, they were brought up together like twins. On similar lines, she too was married to another son of Abu Lahab and was divorced later on when the call for Islam came from Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). When her sister, Ruqayyah, wife of Uthman Ibn Affan died, Prophet Muhammad gave Umm Kulthum to Uthman (RA) in marriage. From that time onwards, Uthman Ibn Affan (RA) was called Zu-Nurayn i.e. the possessor of two lights (because he married two daughters of the Prophet, (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him).

D.1.5. Fatima Az-Zahra (RA)

She was the fourth daughter of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), born to Khadija five years before the Prophet-hood of her father. Fatima (RA) is one of the best women known to the mankind. Along with Maryam (Mary) (mother of Prophet Jesus (peace be uponHim), Khadija (Prophet Muhammad’s first wife) & Asiyah (Pharaoh’s wife who took care of Prophet Moses (peace be upon Him), Fatima (RA) is the purest and the best of women kind.

Many great companions of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), including Abu Bakr (RA) and Umar bin Khattab (RA), asked for her hand in marriage, but the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) kindly apologized. Then came Ali Ibn Abu Talib (RA) and Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) gave her to Ali (RA) in marriage when she was eighteen years old.

She is the Chief of the Women in Paradise and was the first among the Prophet’s family to die after him. She died very soon after her father’s death, at the age of twenty seven.

D.1.6. Abdullaah

Abdullah was born after the Prophet-hood of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). He was also called At-Tayyib or At-Tahir, because he was born in Islam.

D.2. Son from Mariyah Al-Qibtiyyah

Mariyah Al-Qibtiyyah gave birth to Ibrahim, the son of Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). He was born in Madinah and he died when he was one year and ten months old.

  1. Adopted son of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

Zaid Ibn Harith (RA) was adopted by Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) as a son. As soon as Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was shouldered with the responsibility of Prophet-hood, Zaid submitted himself to Islam. He was probably the second man to embrace Islam (first being Abu Bakr Siddiq, RA). He was one of the most beloved to the Prophet and the companions of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) used to call him ‘The Beloved’.

  1. Grand-children of Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)

F.1. Children of Zaynab (RA)

Zaynab (RA) gave birth to two sons: Ali Umamah.

F.2. Children of Fatima Az-Zahra (RA)

Fatima (RA) gave birth to four children, two sons and two daughters. The first child to be born was Al-Hassan, in the third year after Hijrah. A year later, Al-Hussain was born in the fourth year of Hijrah. The Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was very (sentimentally) close to Al-Hassan and Al-Hussain. In the fifth year of Hijrah, Fatima (RA) gave birth to Zaynab, the first grand-daughter of the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). Two years later, the fourth child was born, a girl, whom the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) called Umm Kulthum.

F.3. Son of Zaid Ibn Harith (RA)

Son of Zaid Ibn Harith (RA) was Usama Ibn Zaid. Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) loved him too much and would keep him with himself along with Al-Hassan and Al-Hussain.

Concluding remarks

This is a brief description of the family members of our beloved prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). The lives of these persons are a testimony to their greatness. May Allaah have mercy on the great Muslim personalities mentioned above.

“After performing Salat Al Maghrib, she put her make-up, wore her beautiful

white dress preparing herself for her wedding party, Then she heard the Adhan of ‘Ishaa and she realized that
she broke her Wudu she told her mother : “mother, I have to go to make wudu and pray ‘Ishaa” Her mother was shocked : “Are you crazy?!! Guests are waiting for you, to see you! what about your make -up? It will be all washed away by water!!” then she added: ” I am your mother and I order you not to perform salah now! wallahi if you make wudu now, I will be angry at you” Her daughter replied :”wallahi I won’t go out from here till I perform my salah! Mother you must know that “There is no obedience to any creature in disobedience to the Creator.”!!
Her mother said:”what would our guests say about you when you’ll show up in your wedding party without make-up?! You won’t be beautiful in their eyes! and They will make fun of
you!” The daughter asked with a smile :”Are you worried because I won’t be beautiful in the eyes of creations? What
about my Creator?! I am worried because, if I miss my salah, I won’t be beautiful in His eyes” She started to make wudu, and all her make-up was washed away, but she didn’t care.
Then she began her salah and at the moment she bowed down to make sujud, she didn’t realize that it will be her last one!
Yes! She died while in sujud! What a great ending for a Muslimah who insisted on obeying her Lord! Many people who heard her story were so touched!!
She put Him and His obedience first in her priorities, so He granted her the best ending that any Muslim would have! She wanted to be closer to Him, so He took her soul in the place where Muslim are the closest to Him!
Subhana Allaah!
She didn’t care if she would be beautiful in the eyes of creatures so she was beautiful in the eyes of Her Creator! O Muslim sister, imagine if you are in her place! What will you do? What will you choose : pleasing creations or your Creator?
O dear sister! Do you guarantee that you will live for the next minutes? Hours? Months?!!
No one knows when their hour will come? Or when will they meet angels of death? So are you ready for that moment?
O non-hijabi sister! What do you choose: Pleasing yourself by not wearing Hijab or pleasing your Lord by wearing hijab?
Are you ready to meet Him without Hijab? And what about you, sister who are “in relationship” or “open relationship”, are you ready to meet your Lord today? Tomorrow?! What do you
choose pleasures of this Dunya or pleasures of akhirah?!
May Allaah guide us all to what pleases Him and grant everyone who is reading these lines good ending,
Ameen.

First Ten Days Of Dhu’l-Hijjah – Virtues

First Ten Days Of Dhu’l-Hijjah – Virtues

13 - 1 (53)

Among the great seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, which Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa) has favored over other days. It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radii Allaahu anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” They said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” 1

It was also narrated from Anas (Radii Allaahu anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) said: “There is no deed that is better before Allah or more greatly rewarded than a good deed done in the (first) ten days of al-Adha.” It was said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said: “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out himself for jihad taking his wealth with him and does not come back with anything.” 2

These texts and others indicate that these ten days are better than all other days of the year, with no exception, even the last ten days of Ramadaan. But the last ten nights of Ramadaan are better than the first ten nights of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because they include Laylat al-Qadr, which is better than a thousand months.

So the Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa), then he should do a lot of righteous deeds in general, then he should pay attention to doing the following deeds:

  1. Fasting

It is Sunnah for a Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) encouraged us to do righteous deeds in the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, and fasting is one of the best of deeds, which Allah has chosen for Himself. 3

It was narrated from Hunaydah ibn Khaalid from his wife, that one of the wives of the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) said: The Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) used to fast on the first nine days of Dhu’l-Hijjah and the day of ‘Ashoora’, and three days each month, the first Monday of the month and two Thursdays. 4

2 – Reciting tahmeed, tahleel and takbeer abundantly

It is Sunnah to recite takbeer (saying Allaahu akbar (Allah is most great)), tahmeed (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah)), tahleel (saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (There is no god but Allah)) and tasbeeh (saying Subhaan-Allah (Glory be to Allah)), during the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa), to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa).

Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly.

Allah says: “That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor” [al-Hajj 22:28]

The majority are of the view that the “appointed days” are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, because it was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas (Radii Allaahu anhu) that the appointed days are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah.

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (Radii Allaahu anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam) said: “There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahleel, takbeer and tahmeed during them.” 5

The takbeer is as follows:

Allaahu akbar, Allaahu akbar, laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Allaahu akbar, wa Lillaah il-hamd (Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, there is no god but Allah; Allah is Most Great and to Allah be praise).

3 – Doing Hajj and ‘Umrah

One of the greatest deeds that can be done during these ten days is Hajj to the sacred House of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa). Whoever Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa) helps to go on Hajj to His House and do the rituals in the required manner will – in sha Allah – be included in the words of the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu alaihi wa aalihii wasallam): “An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.”

4 – Udhiyah (sacrifice

One of the righteous deeds that bring a person closer to Allah in these ten days is to slaughter the sacrifice and to look for a good, fat animal and to spend money on it for the sake of Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta-‘aalaa).

Let us hasten to make the most of these great days, before the negligent regrets what he did, and before he asks to go back and receives no response.

HOLY QUR’AN ACCORDING TO MATHEMATICIAN

Holy Qur’an According to mathematician

Dr Gary Miller (Now Dr Abdul Ahad) was a very active missionary and was very knowledgeable about the Bible. This man likes mathematics so much, that’s why he likes logic. One day, he decided to read the Qur’an to try to find any mistakes that he might take advantage of while inviting Muslims to convert to Christianity. He expected the Qur’an to be an old book written 14 centuries ago, a book that talks about the desert and so on. He was amazed from what he found.

He discovered that this Book had what no other book in the world has. He expected to find some stories about the hard time that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had, like the death of his wife Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her) or the death of his sons and daughters. However, he did not find anything like that. And what made him even more confused is that he found a full “Sura” (chapter) in the Qur’an named “Mary” that contains a lot of respect to Mary (peace be upon her) which is not the case even in the books written by Christians nor in their Bibles. He did not find a Sura named after “Fatimah”(the prophet’s daughter) nor “Aishah” (the Prophet’s wife), may Allah (God) be pleased with both of them. He also found that the name of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) was mentioned in the Qur’an 25 times while the name of “Muhammad” (Peace Be Upon Him) was mentioned only 4 times, so he became more confused. He started reading the Qur’an more thoroughly hoping to find a mistake but he was shocked when he read a great verse which is verse number 82 in Surat Al-Nisa’a (Women) that says:

“Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy”.

Dr Miller says about this verse: “One of the well known scientific principles is the principle of finding mistakes or looking for mistakes in a theory until it’s proved to be right (Falsification Test). What’s amazing is that the Holy Qur’an asks Muslims and non-muslims to try to find mistakes in this book and it tells them that they will never find any”. He also says about this verse: “No writer in the world has the courage to write a book and say that it’s empty of mistakes, but the Qur’an, on the contrary, tells you that it has no mistakes and asks you to try to find one and you won’t find any.”

Another verse that Dr Miller reflected on for a long time is the verse number 30 in Surat “Al-Anbiya” (The Prophets):

“ Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of Creation), before We clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?”

He says: ”This verse is exactly the subject of the scientific research that won the Noble Prize in 1973 and was about the theory of the “Great Explosion”. According to this theory, the universe was the result of a great explosion that lead to the formation of the universe with its skies and planets.

Dr Miller says: “Now we come to what’s amazing about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and what’s pretended about the devils helping him, God says:

“No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation), it would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it.” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 26, Verses 210-212.

“When thou does read the Qur’an, seek Allah’s protection from Satan the Rejected One” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 16, Verse 98.

You see? Can this be the devil’s way to write a book? how can he write a book then tells you to ask God for protection from this devil before reading that book? Those are miraculous verses in this miraculous book! and has a logical answer to those who pretend that it’s from the devil”.

And among the stories that amazed Dr Miller is the story of the Prophet(PBUH) with Abu-Lahab. Dr Miller says: “This man (Abu Lahab) used to hate Islam so much that he would go after the Prophet wherever he goes to humiliate him. If he saw the prophet talking to strangers, he used to wait till he finishes and then ask them: What did Muhammad tell you? If he said it’s white then it’s in reality black and if he said it’s night then it’s day. He meant to falsify all what the prophet says and to make people suspicious about it. And 10 years before the death of Abu Lahab, a Sura was inspired to the prophet, named “Al-Masad”. This sura tells that Abu Lahab will go to hell, in other words, it says that Abu Lahab will not convert to Islam. During 10 years, Abu Lahab could have said: “Muhammad is saying that I will not become a Muslim and that I will go to the hell fire, but I’m telling you now that I want to convert to Islam and become a Muslim. What do you think about Muhammad now? Is he saying the truth or no? Does his inspiration come from God?”. But Abu Lahab did not do that at all although he was disobeying the prophet in all matters, but not in this one. In other words, it was as if the prophet(PBUH) was giving Abu Lahab a chance to prove him wrong! But he did not do that during 10 whole years! he did not convert to Islam and did not even pretend to be a Muslim!! Throughout 10 years, he had the chance to destroy Islam in one minute! But this did not happen because those are not the words of Muhammad (PBUH) but the words of God Who knows what’s hidden and knows that Abu Lahab will not become a Muslim.

How can the prophet (PBUH) know that Abu Lahab will prove what is said in that Sura if this was not inspiration from Allah? How can he be sure throughout 10 whole years that what he has (the Qur’an) is true if he did not know that it’s inspiration from Allah?? For a person to take such a risky challenge, this has only one meaning: that this is inspiration from God.

“Perish the hands of the Father of Flame (Abu Lahab)! perish he! No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of blazing Flame! His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood; As fuel! A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 111.

Dr Miller says about a verse that amazed him: One of the miracles in the Qur’an is challenging the future with things that humans cannot predict and to which the “Falsification Test” applies, this test consists of looking for mistakes until the thing that is being tested is proved to be right. For example, let’s see what the Qur’an said about the relation between Muslims and Jews. Qur’an says that Jews are the major enemies for Muslims and this is true until now as the main enemy for Muslims are the Jews.

Dr Miller continues: This is considered a great challenge since the Jews have the chance to ruin Islam simply by treating Muslims in a friendly way for few years and then say: here we are treating you as friends and the Qur’an says that we are your enemies, the Qur’an must be wrong then! But this did not happen during 1400 years!! and it will never happen because those are the words of The One who knows the unseen (God) and not the words of humans.

Dr Miller continues: Can you see how the verse that talks about the enmity between Muslims and Jews constitutes a challenge to the human mind?

“Strongest among men in enmity to the Believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the Believers wilt thou find those who say, “We are Christians”: because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger, thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognize the truth: they pray: “Our Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 5, Verses 82-84.

This verse applies to Dr Miller as he was a Christian but when he knew the truth, he believed and converted to Islam and became a herald. May Allah support him.

Dr Miller says about the unique style of the Qur’an that he finds wonderful: No doubt there is something unique and amazing in Qur’an that is not present anywhere else, as the Qur’an gives you a specific information and tells you that you did not know this before. For example:

“This is part of the tidings of the things unseen, which We reveal unto thee (O Prophet!) by inspiration: thou was not with them when they cast lots with arrows, as to which of them should be charged with the care of Maryam: nor was thou with them when they disputed (the point)” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 3, Verse 44.

“Such are some of the stories of the Unseen, which We have revealed unto thee: before this, neither thou nor thy People knew them. So persevere patiently: for the End is for those who are righteous” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 11, Verse 49.

“Such is one of the stories of what happened unseen, which We reveal by inspiration unto thee: nor was thou (present) with them when they concerted their plans together in the process of weaving their plots” The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 12, Verse 102.

Dr Miller continues: “No other holy book uses this style, all the other books consist of information that tells you where this information came from. For example, when the Holy Bible talks about the stories of the ancient nations, it tells you that a this King lived in a this place and a that leader fought in that battle, and that a certain person had a number of kids and their names are. But this book (Bible) always tells you that if you want to know more, you can read a certain book since that information came from that book”.

Dr Garry Miller continues: “This is in contrary to the Qur’an which gives you the information and tells you that it’s new!! And what’s amazing is that the people of Mecca at that time (time of inspiration of those verses) used to hear those verses and the challenge that the information in those verses was new and was not known by Muhammad (PBUH) nor by his people at that time, and despite that, they never said: We know this and it is not new, and they did not say: We know where Muhammad came from with those verses. This never happened, but what happened is that nobody dared to say that he was lying to them because those was really new information, not coming from the human mind but from Allah who knows the unseen in the past, the present and the future”

Teachings of Islam

What is Islam?

  What is Islam?

Islam is not a new religion, but the same truth that God Almighty revealed through all His prophets (peace be upon them) to every person. For a fifth of the world’s population, Islam is both a religion and a complete way of life. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the majority have nothing to do with the extremely grave events which have come to be associated with their faith.

Stories of the Prophets
By Al-Imam ibn Kathir

The First Four Children
The pinnacle of earthly bliss was reached when Adam and Eve (peace be upon them) witnessed the birth of their first children, a set of twins. Adam was a devoted father and Eve a contented mother. The twins were Cain (Qabil) and his sister. Later Eve gave birth to a second set of twins, Abel (Habil) and his sister. The family enjoyed the bounties and fruits of the earth provided by their Lord. The children grew up to be strong and healthy young adults. Cain tilled the land while Abel raised cattle.

Cain’s Disobedience
The time arrived when the two young men desired life partners. This was part of Allah’s plan for mankind, to multiply and form nations with different cultures and colors. Allah revealed to Adam that he should marry each son to the twin sister of the other. Adam instructed his children according to Allah’s command, but Cain was displeased with the partner chosen for him, for Abel’s twin sister was not as beautiful as his own.

Commentary: Cain’s Disobedience
It appears that since the beginning of time, physical beauty has been a factor in the attraction between man and women. This attraction caused Cain to envy his brother Abel. He rebelled against Allah’s command by refusing to accept his father’s advice.
At first glance Cain’s rebellion might appear strange, but we should remember that although man has a pure nature, the potential for dichotomy exists. In other words, he had both good and bad qualities. He can become greedy, covetous, possessive, selfish and even destructive. Man is therefore capable of seeking self satisfaction even if it leads to failure in this life and in the hereafter. The path to goodness lies in harnessing the enemy within him, his baser self by controlling evil thoughts and deeds and practicing moderation in his desires and actions. His reward then will be the delights of this world and the hereafter. Thus Allah tests us through our divided nature.

Cain’s Jealousy of Abel
Adam was in a dilemma. He wanted peace and harmony in his family, so he invoked Allah for help. Allah commanded that each son offer a sacrifice, and he whose offering was accepted would have right on his side. Abel offered his best camel while Cain offered his worst grain. His sacrifice was not accepted by Allah because of his disobedience to his father and the insincerity in his offering. This enraged Cain even further. Realizing that his hopes marrying his own beautiful sister were fading, he threatened his brother. “I will kill you! I refuse to see you happy while I remain unhappy!” Abel feeling sorry for his brother, replied, “It would be more proper for you, my brother to search for the cause of your unhappiness and then walk in the way of peace. Allah accepts the deeds only from those who serve and fear Him, not from those who reject His Commands.”

The First Death
Abel was intelligent, obedient, and always ready to obey the will of Allah. This contrasted sharply with his brother who was arrogant, selfish and disobedient to his Lord. Abel did not fear his brother’s threats, but neither did he want his brother to be hurt, Allah had blessed Abel with purity and compassion. Hoping to allay the hatred seething in his brother Abel said, “My brother, you are deviating from the right path and are sinful in your decisions. It is better that you repent to Allah and forget about your foolish threat. But if you do not then I will leave the matter in the hands of Allah. You alone will bear the consequence of your sin, for the Fire is the reward of the wrong-doers.” This brotherly plea did nothing to lessen the hatred in Cain’s heart, nor did he show fear of Allah’s punishment. Even familial considerations were cast aside. Cain struck his brother with a stone killing him instantly. This was the first death and the first criminal act committed by man on earth. When Abel had not appeared for some time, Adam began to search for him but found no trace of his beloved son. He asked Cain about Abel’s whereabouts. Cain insolently replied that he was neither his brother’s keeper nor his protector. From these words his father understood that Abel was dead and Adam was filled with grief.

The First Burial
Meanwhile Cain did not know what to do with his brother’s corpse. He carried it on his back wandering from place to place trying to hide it. His anger had now subsided and his conscience was saddled with guilt. He was tiring under the burden of the corpse which had started to have a stench. As a mercy, and to show that dignity could be retained even in death, Allah sent two ravens that began fighting, causing the death of one. The victorious bird used its beak and claws to dig a hole in the ground, rolled its victim into it and covered it with sand. Witnessing this, Cain was overcome with shame and remorse. “Woe unto me!” he exclaimed. “I was unable to do what this raven has done, that is to hide my brother’s corpse.” Cain then buried his brother. This was also the first burial of man.

Allah the Almighty revealed:
” And (O Muhammad) (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) recite to them (the Jews) the story of the two sons of Adam (Abel and Cain) in truth; when each offered a sacrifice to Allah, it was accepted from the one but not from the other. The latter said to the former; “I will surely kill you.”

The former said: “Verily Allah accepts only from those who are Al Muttaqeen (the pious). If you do stretch your hand against me to kill me I shall never stretch my hand against you to kill you, for I fear Allah; the Lord of the Alameen (mankind, jinn, and all that exists). Verily I intend to let you draw my sin on yourself as well as yours then you will be one of the dwellers of the Fire, and that is the recompense of the Zalimeen (polytheists, and wrongdoers).” So the self of the other (latter one) encouraged him and made fair seeming to him the murder of his brother; he murdered him and became one of the losers. Allah sent a crow who scratched the ground to show him to hide the dead body of his brother. He (the murderer) said: “Woe to me! Am I not even able to be as this crow and to hide the dead body of my brother?” Then he became one of those who regretted. (Ch 5:27-31).

The First Murder – from Various Hadith
Ibn Abbas, Ibn Masud and a group of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) related that inter-marriage of the male of one pregnancy with the female of another had been in practice among Adam’s children. Abel wanted to marry Cain’s sister, but Cain wanted her for himself because she was very beautiful. Adam (peace be upon him) ordered him to give her in marriage to his brother but he refused. So Adam (peace be upon him) ordered both of them to offer a sacrifice, then went to Mecca to perform the pilgrimage. After Adam had left, they offered their sacrifices; Abel offered a fat lamb, he was a shepherd, while Cain offered a bundle of worst grain. Fire descended and devoured Abel’s sacrifice, leaving that of Cain so he became angry and said: “I will surely kill you so that you will not marry my sister.” Abel replied, “Allah accepts from those who fear Him.” According to Abu Ja’afar al Baqer, Adam was watching their offering and was sure that Abel’s sacrifice would be accepted. Cain complained to Adam that the acceptance was due to his supplication for Abel and that he had not done the same for him, so he promised his father to settle the matter between himself and his brother. One night, Abel was late returning from tending his flock. Adam sent Cain to see what happened to him. When he found him, he glared at him saying: “Yours was accepted, and mine was not.” Abel replied, “Allah only accepts from the Allah-fearing.” Cain became angry on hearing this and hit him with a piece of iron that was with him and thus killing him. In another version it was said that he killed him with a rock to the head while he was sleeping.

Adam Preaches to His Children
Adam (peace be upon him) was utterly grief stricken by the loss of his two sons. One was dead, the other was won over by the devil. Adam (peace be upon him) prayed for his son and turned to mundane matters for he had to toil for his sustenance. At the same time he was a prophet advising his children and grandchildren, telling them about Allah and calling them to believe in Him. He told them about Iblis and warned them by recounting his own experience with the devil and of how the devil had tempted Cain to kill his brother.

Adam’s Successor, Seth
Years and years passed, Adam (peace be upon him) grew old and his children spread all over the earth. Muhammad Ibn Ishaq related that when Adam’s death drew near, he appointed his son Seth to be his successor and taught him the hours of the day and night along with their appropriate acts of worship. He also foretold to him the floor that would come. Abu Dhar narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him) said: “Allah sent down 104 psalms, of which 50 were sent down to Seth.”

DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE BOYS AND A MUSLIMAH GIRL

DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE BOYS AND A MUSLIMAH GIRL

««««««« Why Don’t You Have A Boyfriend? »»»»»»»

She replied with confidence: you tell me: why would I have a bf?!

I guess you have no answer for my question, but I have answers for yours :

First, I am a believer, I can’t do what displease my Creator, HE ordered me not to take a bf so I should obey HIM.

Allah says in Qur’an: “nor those who take [secret] lovers. “(surat Al-Nisa-25)

Second, I am a daughter of a man who raised me to be a chaste woman, I am a sister of a man who is proud of my purity, so I don’t want to disappoint them, and most of all I don’t want to disappoint a third man who is my future husband and the father of my children in shaa Allah, because I am preserving myself to him only
My mom raised me to be a righteous woman so that I deserve a righteous man she never raised me to be a toy in any boy’s hand, but she raised me to complete the Deen of a pious man.

Also, I am not an easy girl who would be impressed with sweet love words, but I am a proud Muslimah who is just like a pearl in its shell no one can touch it but a brave man who would value it and cherish its beauty…

Dear Muslimahs…Know your worth! And Be that One In Million who love to have the love of Their Lord than the love of a boyfriend!!!

A TRUE MUSLIMAH

To show breast, bare body including legs, discloses the thoughts of the woman that she wants any male partner for love and sexual course, she is hungry of this need. She invites the common people to touch her. But on the other hand a noble woman hides her body from the eyes of each stranger. She is sincere only for her life partner, her husband. It is the cruel act of the West that after snatching the honor from the woman it gave her freedom. I say it is not the freedom that the woman is compelled to earn keeping herself between the strange men. It is the responsibility of the man to afford the domestic expenses. Woman is responsible to hold the domestic affairs and grow up the children. It is impossible for a woman to escape herself from the men while she remains the entire working period with them. As the man wishes more women instead of his alone wife, like this the woman also wishes many friends instead of her husband. It is the nature that the man is for woman to be liked and the woman is for the man to be liked. But the nobility does not permit them to meet other than one’s own partner. If the woman meets with many male persons, then how will it be distinct that whose semen is going to become her child? Who will be called its father? So it’s the matter of understanding. If she passes her life with only one husband then her children will be lawful, otherwise unlawful.

In our country the persons having noble hearts see the woman in four countenances: Mother, Sister, Daughter and Wife. They don’t like to see a woman other than these relations. However each type of peoples is found everywhere. But the respect is for these relations.

Whores are also found everywhere. They may have much wealth but I think mentally they are unsatisfied. Noble women live in veil. Veil is also
a respect of the woman. The women with bare bodies are just like animals because animals live bare, they do not need clothes. But the God Almighty has bestowed wisdom to the person who is called human being or mankind and Caliph of God Almighty on the earth, who may distinguish between good and bad, lawful and unlawful because act of each moment will be counted on the Doomsday.

“The children, looking to whom a person feels spiritual happiness and considers them like its own flowers”.

COMMON EVILS AND DISEASES IN THE SOCIETY

All Praises belong to God Almighty,

And glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon His Messenger,

Then I seek shelter of God Almighty against the Devil, the Disgraced.

In the name of God Almighty, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

All types of creatures of God Almighty live in this world, like the mankind, the animals, beasts, birds, and reptiles, insects along with them trees, crops and wild.

The God Almighty made couple of every living thing i.e. male and female, even the trees and other vegetation have also been paired. These things have also their male and female because without the second of any creature existence can not bud and blossom. So it is a proof that male is necessary for every female of his kind and female is necessary for every male of her kind.

All the males meet the females of their kind and all the females meet the males of their kind except the mankind, the human beings to whom the God Almighty bestowed wisdom, who is called viceroy of the Creator Almighty on earth. This is the condition of that wise mankind that the male completes his sensual wishes with the male or animals and female completes her wishes with other female or animals, which is against the nature, against the wisdom, against the growth of next generation. It is the main cause of diseases like HIV and AIDS. If you wish the goodness of the mankind, you would have to control these acts of the mankind. These types of diseases will automatically be cured.

This evil act was grown in the nation of Prophet Lot, who was nephew of the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon Them) that the males used to do the sensual acts with the males and that nation was ruined. In the Holy Qur’an the God Almighty commands us, (VII- The Heights, Part – 8)(Al-A’-Raaf)

Verse # 80.  And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Do ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?

Verse # 81.   Lo! Ye come with lust unto men instead of women. Nay, but ye are wanton folk.

Verse # 82.   And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure.

Verse # 83    And We rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind.

Verse # 84.  And We rained a rain upon them. So, see now the nature of the consequence of evildoers!

USE OF DRUGS

Now let us discuss about the intoxicating drugs. Why the people use these types of drugs? Main cause of the use of these drugs is unjustly division of wealth. If only a few people are capitalists, they don’t wish to pay the poor-dues. The rich persons are becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer. The basic needs of the entire mankind are equal. Every person wants better food, better clothes, and better standard of accommodation for living. When his basic necessities are not fulfilled through legal resources then he wishes to use the wrong path to earn more money, in this process he gets tension and wants to forget every thing. In this way he becomes victim of the Drug sellers. Justly division of the wealth is very necessary.

There is only one system available in the world which is called Islam. In this system the interest is forbidden, every rich person will pay the poor-due 2.5% per year on his wealth, business is lawful but the present banking system is unlawful. Instead of collecting, gathering and depositing the wealth it should be invested in the new projects, factories, businesses so that un-employment may be decreased, maximum people may get employment and the prosperity may be brought in the society. In our country I have seen a lot of opportunities for investment like:

Textile – its process starts from cotton to cloth and clothes for export.

Sugar – the sugarcane is grown in abundant quantity but the sugar mills do not fulfill the requirements of the land owners.

Farming – Goat, Sheep, Cow, Buffalo, poultry

Vegetables through plastic tunnel system – in this system hot weather vegetables are grown in the winter.

Transportation – goods like trucks all types and buses heavy/light duty.

Besides above there are many other field available for investment.

Racism

“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white, except by piety and good actions”.

Prophet Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him)

“The greatest Jihad is to battle your own soul, to fight the evil within yourself”. Prophet Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him)

None of you (truly) believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself – Quote of Prophet Muhammad (glory, grace, blessings and peace be upon Him),

If you expect the blessings of God, be kind to His people – Abu Bakr (compliments on him)

These are the teachings of Islam. I assure the entire world that a true Muslim will never be a Terrorist. If there is any terrorist that is not a Muslim, either he is ignorant from the teachings of Islam or he is agent of any anti-Islam group or country. However I can not say about other nations or races.

God Almighty Is Not Father of Any Person

God Almighty Is Not Father of Any Person

Let us recite the Holy Qur’an –Surah Maryam (Mary)-19, Section -2 Verses – 16 to 40

  1. 16.     And make mention of Mary in the Scripture. When she had withdrawn from her people to a chamber looking East-
  2. 17.     So she had chosen seclusion from them. Then We sent unto her Our Spirit and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man.
  3. 18.     She said: Lo! I seek refuge in the Beneficent One from thee, if thou art God-fearing.
  4. 19.     He said: I am only a messenger of the Lord that I may bestow on thee a pure son.
  5. 20.     She said: How can I have a son when no mortal hath touched me, neither have I been unchaste?
  6. 21.     He said: So (it will be). Thy Lord saith: It is easy for Me. And (it will be) that We may make of him a portent for mankind and a mercy from Us, and it is a thing ordained.
  7. 22.     Then she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place.
  8. 23.     And the pangs of childbirth drove her unto the trunk of the palm-tree. She said: Oh, would that I had died ere this and had become a thing of naught, forgotten!
  9. 24.     Then (one) called her from below her, saying: Grieve not! Thy Lord hath placed a rivulet beneath thee.
  10. 25.     And shake the trunk of the palm-tree toward thee, thou wilt cause ripe dates to fall upon thee.
  11. 26.     So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent, and may not speak this day to any mortal.
  12. 27.     Then she brought him to her own folk, carrying him. They said: O Mary! Thou hast come with an amazing thing.
  13. 28.     O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a wicked man nor was thy mother an unchaste woman.
  14. 29.     Then she pointed to him. They said: How can we talk to one who is in the cradle, an infant?
  15. 30.     He spoke: Lo! I am the slave of Allah. He hath given me the Scripture and hath appointed me a Prophet-
  16. 31.     And hath made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and hath enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I remain alive-
  17. 32.     And (hath made me) dutiful toward my mother, and hath not made me arrogant, unblest.
  18. 33.     Peace on me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I shall be raised alive!
  19. 34.     Such is Jesus, son of Mary: (this is) a statement of the truth concerning which they doubt.
  20. 35.     It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! And it is.
  21. 36.     And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him. That is the right path.
  22. 37.     The sects among them differ, but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day.
  23. 38.     How well will they hear and see on the Day they come unto Us! Yet the evil-doers are today in error manifest.
  24. 39.     And warn them of the Day of anguish when the case shall be decided once for all. Now they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not.
  25. 40.     Lo! We, only We, inherit the earth and all who are thereon, and unto Us they will be brought back.

Below is the story of first migration of Muslims from Makkah to Ethiopia

Jafar left his uncle Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib’s house when he became a young man and got married to Asma bint Umays. They were among the very first persons to embrace Islam, and as a result suffered greatly at the hands of the Quraish. The Quraish restricted their movements and freedom until they could not bear it anymore. That is why Jafar went to Muhammad and took his permission to immigrate to Ethiopia along with a small group of Sahabas.

They settled down in this new land under the protection of Negus Ashama ibn Abjar, and for the first time since they had become Muslims they knew what freedom was, and could worship God without any hindrances. However, Quraish would not let them enjoy freedom and peace for long; soon they sent Abdullah ibn Abu Rabiah and another man from Quraish in order to negotiate with Negus and get all the Muslims back to Mecca.

They took a lot of presents to the Negus, which pleased him a lot, and then told him that there is a group of wicked men moving about freely in his country and asked him to capture them before they cause any harm to his kingship as they did in Quraish. But the Negus refused to do that until he calls them and questions them regarding Quraish’s allegations. So he asked the group Muslims, among which was Jafar ibn Abu Talib, to come and meet him and the Muslims chose Jafar to be their spokesman.

The Negus asked them “what is this religion that has cut you off from your people, and made you in no need of our religion..?”

Jafar answered him saying “we were living in darkness and this religion came and commanded us to speak the truth, to honor our promises, to be kind to our relations, to cease all forbidden acts, to abstain from bloodshed. To avoid obstinacies and false witness, nor to appropriate an orphan’s property or slander chaste women, Muhammed ordered us to worship Allah only and not to associate any god with Him, to uphold Salat, to give Zakat and fast in the month of Ramadan, so we believed in him and what he brought to us from Allah and we follow him in what he has asked us to do and we keep away from what he forbade us from doing.”

The Negus was eager to know more about what Jafar said, and so he asked Jafar to read him a part from what Muhammad brought concerning God. Jafar recited for him the first portion of Surah Maryam, which narrates the story of Jesus and his mother Mary. On hearing the words of the Qur’an, the Negus was moved and the bishops around him began to weep. The Negus said that he will never harm them.

However the two Quraish emissaries did not stop at that, they went to the Negus again and told him that the Muslims say that Jesus is a slave, and asked him to call them and ask them what they think of Jesus.

The Negus called the Muslims and asked them, so Jafar answered him saying, “Our Prophet says that Jesus is Allah’s prophet.” The Negus gave back the gifts to Amr so he and his companion left broken and frustrated.

THE UNITY

(Surah # 112 of Holly Qur’an)

I seek shelter of God Almighty against the Devil, the Disgraced.

In the name of God Almighty, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

1.  Say: He is Allah (God Almighty), the One!

2.  Allah, the eternally Besought of all!

3.  He begetteth not nor was begotten,

4.  And there is none comparable unto Him.

Aayat al-Kursi

Quran 2:255- 7

Allah is He besides Whom there is no god, the Ever living, the Self-subsisting by Whom all subsist; slumber does not overtake Him nor sleep; whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His; who is he that can intercede with Him but by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they cannot comprehend anything out of His knowledge except what He pleases, His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of them both tires Him not, and He is the Most High, the Great.
