Commentary

Previously, the circumstances about creation of the mankind were explained that he is a collection of two things – body and soul. The body has been prepared with those things which exist in the clay. The clay was kneaded with water and the body-frame of the mankind was prepared from the same directly first time. After that, lineage of his creation was established in such manner that the mankind should fill his belly with food; acquired from the produce of the earth. That food becomes source of producing seed (semen), which is a baseless fluid. When the skeleton got ready, then it was animated. The thing which animated it, is Soul, by means of which, eyes, ears and hearts began to work respectively.

After that, it is commanded: How do these people say that “when elements of our body will rot and spread in the dust, then how shall we be brought again to life?” Say to them: In fact you have not known your Lord. When once the body has been created, the soul has been breathed in it and the mankind has been born, then you should understand it carefully that the Angel of Death (peace be upon him) has been appointed for you. He will pull your soul out from your body when the time of your death will reach. This soul will remain in existence; for which the body will be prepared again like this, and the soul will penetrate in that body.

Commentary

Whatsoever Allaah Almighty has created, created with very good manner and in perfection. Only He can create the things like these Who may be a Grand Master and have knowledge of all ups and downs. And along with it, He may bestow to every created thing that which is required for everything’s creation and protection, with generosity. And everything should be in His Divine Power.

That Omnipotent (Allaah Almighty) created the mankind first time from clay kneaded with water. Then He began to produce his posterity out of the extract of a liquid disdained, which is essence of such things which the mankind uses for food. That draught is a remainder in water form which is considered valueless.

Then Allaah Almighty proportioned every joint of human body at its proper place correctly and adjusted all body parts.

When the mankind came in a suitable form, then Allaah Almighty breathed Soul into him, which is a particular thing created by His Commandment. After that, the mankind began to see with his eyes and hear with his ears, and some astonishing forces began to work in his heart. Even then you are little grateful.

Commentary

In the previous verse, it was commanded: Allaah Almighty created the entire Universe and established Himself above the Throne (Throne means “the Seat of a Ruler or King”). In this verse, the indication is towards “an outline of the System of the Empire”. It is commanded: On the earth, detail of one day’s work is sent down every day by the Excelled Court of Allaah Almighty. The Angels (peace be upon them), who execute the Commands of Allaah Almighty, begin to work in accordance with those Orders. After that, the entire matters of execution of Commandments are reported back in the Court of Allaah Almighty and thence further Instructions are issued for the next day. It is a daily routine work. But if we compare that Day with the days of this world, the extent of that Day is a thousand years of those which we count.

Next, in Suratul-Ma-‘aarij (The Ascending Stairways –Chapter 70), it has come to knowledge that “when this world will be over, then the Day of Resurrection shall be established and reckoning process of the deeds of entire people will be finalized, according to counting of this world; extent of that one Day will be of fifty thousand years. This is arrangement of Allaah Almighty, in accord with which the works of the world are being managed and according to which every individual’s personal deeds will be reckoned.

After that, it is commanded: The Lord of the Lords has established such determined and correct in all respects System by His Divine Power, Who is Well Aware of every Visible and invisible thing, all apparent and hidden matters, and Who is The Most Powerful.

Commentary

It was commanded previously: Without any doubt the Lord of the Worlds has revealed this Scripture so that O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), you may warn the people from the punishment of their evil deeds, to whom no Warner came before you, that haply they may walk aright and abstain from bad works. It is not in the power of any individual that he may write the Scripture like this. It has been sent down by the Lord of the Worlds, all Commandments of which are quite true and real.

It is commanded; The Lord of the Worlds is That Allaah Almighty Who created the heavens, the earth and entire creatures between them within six days, then He established Himself above the Throne. Say to the people: His Order is executed on every step of the Universe. Neither you will be able to go anywhere and nor find anyone’s refuge after disobeying Him. You have no protecting friend, supporter or companion and nor anyone can be your intercessor without His permission. In such circumstances you should think that there is no abode of you save Him. You have been denying Him willfully. Neither you believe in His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), nor recite and try to understand His Scripture. It entirely is your ignorance.

This entire Universe is before you. Everything in it has been running according to His prescribed established order and law. Then why do you not believe in its Creator, Who has been keeping it up?

Commentary

The Omnipotent, Who created the entire Worlds by His Divine Power and decorated everything in the universe at its proper suitable place, He is Who appointed for everything its separate work also which was suitable with regard to its condition and order, and taught the way of own working to everything. He revealed the manners and the ways of using the sense properly also in the form of a Book separately. That Book is Holy Qur’an in its perfect and last form. The mankind should not have any doubt in it that the Lord of the Worlds is the Lord of human beings too. So it is not possible that He would not have determined the rules for mankind’s mental and physical powers. Every Word of Holy Qur’an has been explaining that this Scripture has been sent down by the same Lord.

What has happened with these people that they say: The Messenger himself (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has invented it (Let us flee to Allah). Thinking so is quite wrong. It is the truth that the mankind had to know such way of living in which he might use his powers. Like this, it was also necessary that he would have been frightened from the consequences of wicked deeds.

For this purpose O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), We have appointed you as Our Messenger and sent towards these people along with this Scripture, so that you may cause them to understand thoroughly and warn them, because no Prophet before you was sent to warn them. Accordingly, the arrangement for their guidance was compulsory, so that they themselves choose the right path and guide other people of the world.

Chapter SAJDAH” – (THE PROSTRATION) – 32

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

According to setting of Holy Qur’an, this is thirty second Chapter, which was revealed during the middle times of stay at Makkah. There are three Sections in this Chapter. At first, attention has been drawn towards this matter that surely Holy Qur’an is a Scripture sent down by Allaah Almighty, Who brings up the entire living beings of all the worlds and Who is Protecting Friend of all of them. There is no doubt in it.

Holy Qur’an’s way of speaking has been describing clearly that the Creator of this world has sent it down for the guidance of His entire prudent and adult creature. It addresses; not only any particular folk or class; but those creatures who keep perception of understanding and responsibility into themselves.

Do these ignorant people of Makkah say about this dignified Scripture that it has been invented by the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) himself? They are aware of Arabic language, if even then they say like this, then there is no other reason save it that they are stubborn and selfish. Give up these things! This Holy Book really explains the truth and has been sent as a warning for them; towards whom no Prophet was sent in the past, so that it may make them Spiritual Guides for the people of the entire world.

It commands: Know your Lord (Allaah Almighty) Who Alone created the heavens, the earth and all creatures between them, and established an Order of them. You have no Companion or Supporter save Him. Believe in Him and follow His Commandments! You have to live in this world for some days, then the death will seize all of you. After that, you will be brought back to life again, your deeds will be reckoned and you will be dealt with reward or punishment according to your worldly deeds. On that Day, those who disobey Allaah Almighty, will grieve and request to send them back again in this world, but their request will be rejected, because they were made to understand carefully by means of the Prophets (peace be upon them) and the Scriptures that “your abode would be Hell if you did not believe. We shall forget you Today (the Day of Judgment) as you forgot Us in the world. Nothing is for you Today but the Doom”.

Behold! Listen carefully! Believers are those who give up haughtiness after hearing the verses of Holy Qur’an and bow down immediately before Allaah Almighty. They get up during night hours, implore earnestly and humbly before Him. As they fear Him, they hope for His forgiveness too.

Behold! Little disasters are sent in the world for wakening the mankind. They would have to suffer from very severe torment on the Day of Resurrection if they did not waken. Remember it that the Day of Resurrection is Inevitable and entire disputes will be settled on that Day.

Chapter LUQMAAN”- (LUQMAN) – 31

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

In this Chapter, the attention has been drawn towards this matter that Commandments of Holy Qur’an are in accordance with the Wisdom, that is to say, the care has been taken in its every Word that the last result of every work should be good, whether one has to give up a little apparent personal benefit in the beginning for this purpose. Its incumbent result is that only those people can reap real advantages from its Words whose nature has been bent towards good works and who behold on the consequence. Certainly they would like to establish prayer and do good for the necessitous people. Moreover these people will not claim its remuneration immediately in this world, but they would have faith that this world is a temporary living place, and mankind’s present life is limited, so complete retribution of good works cannot be received here. Its necessary result is – belief in the Hereafter.

After that, some such matters have been narrated, consequence of which is not good, due to which; on the Day of Resurrection; one shall have to suffer from great grief, pain and afflictions. Many of the matters from them are those in which the only aim is worldly amusement and play. And by chance, these are the matters in which most of the people of the world are seen involved nowadays.

It is tried to appreciate the needless stories, novels, self-invented imaginary fables, dancing, singing, grand buildings, photography, prints and paintings, romantic poetry and all such works which are called Fine Arts. These all are such works; consequence of which will not be good on the Day of Resurrection. Moreover, these matters have been becoming origin of spreading many evils.

After that, attention is drawn towards those matters, consequence of which will be better, for example – knowing Allaah Almighty, belief in Oneness of God, hatred from the belief in a plurality of Allaah and escaping from bad habits etc.

It has been indicated after describing the story of Lugman in this Chapter that wise people of the world are agreeing on goodness of such matters which have been mentioned in holy Qur’an as good works. And they admit that such works are bad which Holy Qur’an says that those are bad.

After that, it has been described: Open your eyes and see! Portents of the Divine Power of Allaah Almighty are apparent in the entire world. By looking them; you should believe in the truth of all such matters which Holy Qur’an has described. If even then someone does not believe, he is stupid. It is only a matter of stubbornness, otherwise neither human beings know the things nor have authority over them, without which their entire workings and boastings are worthless.

Commentary

In this verse, the mankind has been warned very severely due to his ignorance. It has been described to him that in spite of being unaware of real matters, he becomes so much obstinate that he disregards all others.

It is commanded: Allaah Almighty Alone has knowledge of the Hour, and causing to rain is in His Knowledge and Power. Only He knows that what is in the womb of the mother; whether it is male or female. Nobody knows that what will he do tomorrow and where will he die. Allaah Almighty is Aware of all such matters. He gives knowledge to whom He desires. Then on which pride the human beings have big hopes and make great plans? They have forgotten and exulted due to their false knowledge. Everything will be finished if a great calamity befalls at the spot. Land will stop producing provision if the raining is stopped and the mankind will not be able to do something. He thought frequently that tomorrow he would do so and so, but such circumstances happened that he could do nothing. While you do not have power in all such matters, then why do you not obey the Commandments of Allaah Almighty, Who is Aware of everything and Able to do as He desires? He is Who commands the mankind for that which is suitable for him.

Commentary

It was commanded in previous verses: After observing favors and graces of Allaah Almighty spread everywhere, the mankind should know Him and get ready to obey His Commandments. But the conduct of the mankind is very astonishing. He reaps advantages from the graces of Allaah Almighty every time, but forgets Him and welcomes others courteously. However, when any sudden harsh misfortune falls, in which he finds no helper, then he turns his attention fully towards Allaah Almighty and cries unto Him, making his faith pure for Him only. His injustice is it that as soon as his misfortune is removed, he becomes ingrate.

In this verse it is commanded: You should be careful, fear from the displeasure of Allaah Almighty every time and remember it that such dreadful Day is near to come when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all.

It is the Promise of Allaah Almighty which cannot be withdrawn, because His Promise is not for the time being, but His Word is the strongest and soundest. Therefore, you should believe in it and should not be entangled in the deception and misunderstanding of the life of this world. You should not fall in the scheming of Satan because he deceives the mankind in the name of Allaah Almighty. For example, he says: You should enjoy your life, Allaah Almighty is Forgiving, Merciful.

Be cautious! Salvation is in fearing from the wrath of Allaah Almighty.

Commentary

‘Az-zulali – (the things which enshroud over heads, for example, clouds, mountain, thatched roof, sunshades etc.), this word is plural of zullatun which has been derived from zillun. Zillun means “shadow”.

Khat-taarun – (treacherous, traitor, deceiver), this word has come out from khatar, which means “to deceive”.

Muqtasidun – (those who are moderate in faith, temperate), this is the Subject from the word ‘iqtasaad, which has been derived from qasad.

It is commanded: You see that how the ships sail on the surface of the water of the Sea, transport and carry goods from one place to the other by the Grace of Allaah Almighty. Do you not see His Divine Power in it? There are Signs for knowing Allaah Almighty in it for them who are temperate and grateful. Moreover, when waves come over them like canopies, they begin to supplicate Allaah Almighty sincerely. But after reaching the coast of the sea, some of them remain moderate in their faith. However most of them reject the Signs of Allaah Almighty. Such people are treacherous and ungrateful.
