Lesson

Naturally a power to recognize Allah Almighty exists in the human beings. They are His obedient and servants. They have sense to understand His Commands. Since that, they have been designed on the Good, so they are not ready to accept anyone as worse in the affairs, cheat and impostor, until they are not deceived.

There is a fault of forgetting into the mankind too. To err or be mistaken by them is not a big thing. Then it is in their nature also that whenever they err, they repent and feel abashed. And if anyone assures someone of them that he has fallen short in my (his) right, he becomes ready to apologize from him.

Keep these entire matters under consideration: You will find that whatsoever was committed by Adam and His wife Eve (peace be upon Them), that all is a part of the manifestation of their wisdom. Allah Almighty commanded: Don’t go nigh this tree. They know well Allah Almighty as their Lord. They obeyed His Command. They were told: Satan is your open enemy. They understood it, but due to being good they could not think that the Devil was a collusive. He swore, but they could not recognize it other than the truth. Even they did not know the name of “a lie”. They took his saying as a truth and considered the meaning of Allah’s Command according to his (Satan’s) conversation.

When they ate the fruit of that prohibited tree and became naked, then perceived about their error and began to be ashamed. After that, Allah Almighty caused to remember them that Command, which they had forgotten; that is to say; Iblis was their enemy. On this, they realized that (Let us flee to God) it is just like disobedience of Allah Almighty. They began to express regret for their fault immediately and said as it has been commanded in this verse that they both fell prostrate before their Lord and requested: O our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. Thou art our God. If Thou forgive us not and have not mercy on us, surely we are of the lost.

Then they were commanded: you would have understood now that; what the enemy is? Get you all down on the earth from here and test your powers against one another. You would have to live there for a fixed period now, because the Garden cannot be an amphitheater of throwing down one another, enmity and mutual contention, whereas your good qualities cannot spring up without competition. The earth is suitable place for you. Now all matters regarding your life, death and preparation for coming back here by coming back to living, will happen on the earth. You will come back here, if you succeeded in the competition.

Iblis is an open enemy of human being

Lesson # 833 from the Noble Quran

Iblis is an open enemy of human being

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)

Stage – 2, Verse –22b of 206, Section – 2 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

So when they tasted of the tree their shame was manifest to them and they began to hide (by heaping) on themselves some of the leaves of the Garden. And their Lord called them, (saying): Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you: Lo! Satan is an open enemy to you? Falammaa  zaaqash-shajarata  badat  lahumaa  saw-‘aatu-humaa  wa  tafiqaa  yakh-sifaani  ‘alay-himaa  minw-waraqil-Jannah.  Wa  naadaa-humaa  Rabbu-humaaa  ‘alam  ‘anha-kumaa  ‘an-tilkumash-shajarati  wa  ‘aqul-lakumaaa  ‘innash-Shaytaana  lakumaa  ‘aduw-wum-mubiin.

2015 - 1 (58)

Lesson

Tafiqaa  yakh-sifaani – { began to hide (by heaping)}, the word “Yakh-sifaan” has been derived from khasaf, which means “to connect, to assemble together”. The Arabic word tafiqaa is usually used as we use the word “began to”.

Prophet Adam and His wife Eve (peace be upon Them) were deceived by the Devil’s oath and they tasted some fruit of that tree, which was forbidden for them by Allah Almighty. Consequently, the dress of Jannah (Garden) disappeared from their bodies and now they were naked in front of each other.

At this stage, they began to hide their bodies by connecting the leaves of the trees of the Garden being ashamed before each other. Their condition, as it was before tasting the fruit of forbidden tree, was changed. A great change had come also in their feelings. Certainly they would have thought: What we were and what have we become?

In such condition, the shame, the regret and the wonder would have attacked suddenly on their hearts. At the spot, they listened to the Sound of their Lord (Allah Almighty): Why are you standing like ghosts now? Did I not forbid you to go nigh this tree? Did I not tell you openly that this Iblis is your open enemy? He can never be of your friends or real supporter. He will come unto you with different new forms, but His actual plan will be always to deceive you so that you should obey His commands.

Adam and Eve (peace be upon Them) were not infants when they were born. They had full height, were completely intellectual and physically powerful mankind. But they were totally unaware of deceit, forgery, imposture and fraud. If the Devil had not denied falling prostrate before Adam (peace be upon Him), the mankind would have remained forever pure and clean, simple, sinless and righteous human being. In such circumstances, they would have lived in the atmosphere of Gardens, wearing the Light clothing of that place, walking and strolling, eating and drinking.

Obviously, when any person is genuine with clean heart, pure and chaste, then surely, he cannot recognize any other person fraudulent, mischievous and cheat. First of all, Iblis was never fraudulent and disbeliever. He was degraded because of His pride and then He made up His mind to be enemy of the mankind. The enmity is such a curse, which causes to learn everything to humiliate the enemy.

In such condition, relying upon the saying and oath of the Devil by Adam and His wife Eve (peace be upon Them) was natural. It should be understood from this statement that the mankind himself is simple, honest and believer. But whenever he goes astray, that is a wicked deed of any other person, who seduced him. Therefore, the human beings are indigent of the Guidance of Allah Almighty.

Mankind is mortal

Lesson # 832 from the Noble Quran

Mankind is mortal

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)

Stage – 2, Verses – 20 21 & 22a of 206, Section – 2 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

20.  Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals.

21.  And he swore unto them (saying): Lo! I am a sincere adviser unto you-

22a.  Thus did he lead them on with guile.

20.  Fa-was-wasa  lahumash-Shay-taanu  li-yubdi-ya  lahumaa  maa  wuu-riya  ‘an-humaa  min-  saw-‘aatihimaa  wa qaala  maa  nahaa-kumaa  Rabbu-kumaa  ‘an  haazihish  shajarati  ‘illaaa  ‘an-takuunaa  malakayni  ‘aw  takuunaa  minal-khaalidiin.

21.  Wa  qaasama-humaaa  ‘innii  lakumaa  la-minan-naasihiin.

22a.  Fa-dallaa-humaa  bi-guruur.

2015 - 1 (69)

Lesson

was-wasa – (put whispers, seduced), it is past tense, origin of which is “waswasatun”, it means; that thing, which is whispered in the heart silently, creating any wrong idea. Such thought, and that individual or thing, which puts any imagination in the heart, is called waswaas.

yubdi-ya – (to manifest), base of this word is ‘abdaaa’, which has been derived from bad-wun. Bad-‘u means “to appear”. ‘abdaaa’ means “to disclose, to display”.

wuu-riya – (was hidden) – past unknown, its origin is muwaaraah, which is made from war-yun. War-yun means “to be hidden”. Muwaaraah means “to hide from one another”.

saw-‘aata – (private parts, hidden parts of shame of the human body), it is plural of saw-‘atun, which means “bad thing, the shame, that part of the body of man or woman, which is incumbent to be hidden, and opening of which is a shame”.

Dallaa – (seduced, attracted, inclined), it is past tense, origin of which is dalyatun and it has been derived from dalwun, which means “A metal or leathern bucket used for drawing water from a well”. Here it aims that “Satan inclined Adam (peace be upon Him) toward his object”, seduced him.

When Iblis knew that Adam (peace be upon Him) has been prohibited from a particular tree in the Garden, He comprehended that: It is the way to harm Adam (peace be upon Him) that somehow they (Adam and Eve – peace be upon Them) should be carried nigh that particular tree.

The Devil planned and produced a doubt in their hearts saying that: Allah has not forbidden this tree for you, but He has prevented you from its use due to any conception, for instance; You will become Angels, if You ate it or You will acquire living forever. It is an ancient trick of Satan that He removes the value of God’s Command from the heart of mankind by any plot and says: This order is not urgent, which has been commanded due to any thought. If you feel that; breaking this order is useful for you, you can break it.

Then, this tyrant Iblis swore falsely in front of the both – Adam and Eve (peace be upon Them) that: I am faithful to you and say without telling a lie. Hearing these words, they both were deceived. They fell into His scheming of misleading and accepted. The result was that their Light clothing was disappeared. Those parts of their bodies appeared, seeing of which by any other is worse.

Hell is Dwelling place for wrongdoers

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)

Stage – 2, Verses – 18 & 19 of 206, Section – 2 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

18.  He said: Go forth from hence, degraded, banished. As for such of them as follow thee, surely I will fill Hell with all of you.

19.  And (unto man): O Adam! Dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden and eat from whence ye will, but come not nigh this tree lest ye become wrongdoers.

DSC00827 - hdr

Lesson

Maz-‘uuman – (Degraded), grammatically, this word is “the Passive Participle” from Zaamun. Zaamun means “sin, badness, disgrace. Maz-‘uumun means “disgraceful, contemptible, vicious”.

Mad-huuraa  – (Banished), it is “the passive participle” too, which has been derived from Dahrun. Dahrun means “to banish, to reject. Mad-huuran means “driven away, rejected, disgraced”.

Zaalimiin  – (Wrongdoers), plural of Zaalim, which has been made from Zulm. Zulm means “to damage, to lose and to harm – own or any other”. Here it has the same meaning that “You will be one from losers”.

It was described in the previous verse that Iblis was overjoyed because He was reprieved till the Day of Resurrection and began to say: As I have been humiliated due to Adam (peace be upon Him), now I shall take revenge with open heart from Him and will make many from His children stray. The next situation is in this verse.

It is explained that Allah Almighty commanded after hearing the talk of Satan: Thou has been degraded and banished so, go forth from here. We don’t care if thou make the children of Adam (peace be upon Him) stray and mislead them by seducing. There is no loss of Us in it. We shall throw thou and those who will follow thou into the Fire of Hell collectively.

After that, Allah Almighty commanded Adam (peace be upon Him): O Adam! Thou should live in Gardens along with Thy wife. You will be free from all restrictions but you should not come near this tree, which is in front of you. Don’t touch it; otherwise, You will be included among “the losers”.

We have studied the story of Adam (peace be upon Him) in Chapter two; Suratul Baqarah. It was explained there that before the birth of Adam (peace be upon Him), Allah Almighty had told the Angels (peace be upon Them): I shall create a Caliph (Viceroy) on the earth.

It was manifested from this narration that some responsibilities will be delivered over the human being after giving him some special powers and thereby he will be tested that whether he performs his duty properly, which was given to him, or otherwise?

In the last verse of Suratul ‘An-‘aam, it has been explained clearly for the entire humankind that: Allah Almighty has made all of you His vicegerent on the earth and He desires to test you in this way.

In this Chapter, description regarding preparing the children of Adam for that Examination has been reflected. Adam and Eve (peace be upon Them) were kept in the Gardens first, the aim to cause to understand from which was that; it is the actual place of dwelling for Adam and His children. Purpose of restriction in the Garden was that they should learn to live in the prescribed limits of Allah Almighty, they may know the object of every kind of sin and they should recognize the method: How to submit the request of pardon?

15 - 1 (9)

Lesson

It is commanded that when Iblis (Satan) was exiled, He thought: It was a big thing. As He was made of fire, so He was ill-tempered. He knew it in His heart too that: Nothing will be, if I would consider myself great, because actual Power and Honor is in the Hand of Allah only, otherwise, there is no other form. As I have been degraded, now I can do nothing by being good. The only form is that I should demand power from Allah to make Adam (peace be upon Him) and His children bad. And that power should be like this – that I may use that power to seduce the human beings until any individual from the children of Adam (peace be upon Him) is living in the world.

After making such plan and being disappointed from all sides, He cried before Allah Almighty: I should be retained living till the establishment of the Day of Resurrection and I should be given so much power that I may do, whatsoever I desire, without any minute examination. You have Power to punish me as You wish on the Day of Judgment.

There is no delay in the Court of Allah Almighty. That will be given to every that person, whichever and whoever deserves and demands. And it was known also that He (Satan) cannot mar the management of the world. Therefore, Allah Almighty permitted Iblis to do whatever He wished and said: Lo! Thou art of those reprieved.

That was it – the desire of Satan’s heart was fulfilled. He was becoming blind in the ardent zeal of revenge from Adam (peace be upon Him), and began to dance with pleasure. If you wish to guess regarding running mad in pleasure by Iblis, then you would have to see the condition of that individual, who has been saved from the punishment of death, converted into imprisonment for life, after hearing his appeal by the Criminal Court. Such person, really, runs mad due to passion of the pleasure.

Similarly, Iblis (the Devil) sang for joy and said addressing the Most Superior Authority (God Almighty): I will show You too that; what would I have done. I shall not let Adam (peace be upon Him) and His children go the Right Path. In this connection, I shall try my best. I shall encompass them from all around and set a trap heart-alluring and of wickedness. And I am sure; maximum people from them will get out of their senses after being entangled in My trap and they will think nothing about You (Allah Almighty).

At that time Allah Almighty rebuked Iblis (the Devil) carelessly and said: Go! You are free. Try your best. Its consequence will come before you.

Iblis said: I am better than Adam

Lesson # 829 from the Noble Quran

Iblis said: I am better than Adam

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)–Stage – 2

Verse – 12 & 13 of 206, Sections – 2 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

12.  He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? He (Iblis) said: I am better than him; Thou created me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud.

13.  He said: Then go down hence! It is not for thee to show pride here, so go forth! Lo! Thou art of those degraded.

12.  Qaala  maa  mana-‘aka  ‘allaa  tasjuda  ‘iz  ‘amarTuk.  Qaala  ‘ana  khay-rum-minh.  Khalaq-Tanii  min-naarinw-wa  khalaqTahuu  min-tiin.

13.  Qaala  fahbit  min-haa  famaa  yakuunu  laka  ‘an-  tatakabbara  fiihaa  fakhruj  ‘innaka  minas-saagiriin.

55fbd1f6cfd87

Lesson

‘Ihbit – (Go down), it is from habuut, which means “to go down – from a higher place or rank, to be transferred from one place to any other”.

‘As-saagiriin – (those people who are disgraceful, degraded, contemptible). It is plural of Saagir, which has been derived from Sagaar. Sagaar means “disgrace, insult, infamy, ignominy”. This word “Sagaar” has come – in Suratul ‘An-‘aam too.

Iblis (Satan) did not fall prostrate before Adam (peace be upon Him) when Allah Almighty ordered to do so and began to think. The aim from falling prostrate was that: I shall remain submissive and obedient to Adam (peace be upon Him). The Angels (peace be upon Them) comprehended immediately that it is the Will of Allah Almighty. Satan forgot the Creator and began to see himself. This explanation has been described in this verse.

It is commanded that Allah Almighty asked the reason of falling not prostrate and said: While it was My Order, then why did you not fall prostrate. He (Satan) replied: I am better than him. You (Allah Almighty) created me of fire and him of mud. It is astonishing; what is comparison among fire and mud? Hereupon, Allah Almighty commanded: You (Iblis) disobeyed Our Order. Now you have no rank in Our Court, so you should go down. This place where you are – is not the place of living for them who consider themselves superior (proud) to others. You cannot show pride while dwelling here. Therefore, go forth. You are included in those now who are degraded.

These Angels (peace be upon Them), who were commanded to fall prostrate before Adam (peace be upon Him), are those, who are given responsibility of service of the works of the earth; anyone of them is appointed to control the air, someone is responsible of water, while charge of fire has been given to any other.

These are the Angels (peace be upon Them), who fell prostrate, but Iblis, who was made of fire, denied to fall prostrate. He forgot bowing before the Order of Allah Almighty and thought: Actual thing is mud in the body of Adam (peace be upon Him), which lies at the lowest place. How can it be that I fall prostrate before it?

The religious commentators have explained that the fire has fastness and lightness. Its specific signs are anger, inflammation, pain, heat and rage. Looking at Adam’s rank and dignity (peace be upon Him), Satan’s fire of envy broke out and he began to be burnt in his heart.

It was the punished that He was kicked out being disgraced from the Court of Allah Almighty. The root of anger and rage is pride and these are tokens of haughtiness. Iblis considered himself superior and at that time He could not think that His actual duty was to obey the Command of Allah Almighty too like other entire creatures. So humiliation infamy, disgrace and ignominy were gotten by Him.

God said to Angels: Fall prostrate before Adam

Lesson # 828 from the Noble Quran

God said to Angels: Fall prostrate before Adam

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)–Stage – 2

Verse – 11 of 206, Sections – 2 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And We created you, then fashioned you, then told the angels: Fall ye prostrate before Adam! So they fell prostrate, all save Iblis, Who was not of those who make prostration.      Wa  laqad  khalaq-Naakum  summa  saw-warNaakum  summa  qulNaa  lil-malaaa-‘ikatisjuduu  li- ‘Aadama,  fasajaduuu  ‘illaaa  ‘Ibliis.  Lam  yakum-minas-saajidiin.

55fbd4be0b9d7

Lesson

It was told in the previous verse: O Mankind! You were appointed as chief over the entire creature on the earth and put it in your possession, and powers and strength were bestowed upon you as per its requirement. All those things were created in the earth, which were necessary to establish your life. You should use the powers to get those things. In the external world, the entire remaining powers are your obedient and submissive except One Power. More detail about it has been described in this verse.

It is commanded: We ordered the ingredients of the matter to be combined, for creating you, then by connecting them in configuration, We fashioned the mankind. It will come in the next Chapters that “Then We caused to enter Our Spirit into it, after that We said to the Angels: Look! This is Adam, Who is father of entire human beings”. Fall you prostrate before Him.

Listening to this command, all the Angels (peace be upon Them) fell prostrate, but Iblis (Satan), who was standing with them, did not partake among Them who fell prostrate. And his act of denial separated him from the Angels, whereas, verbally, He used to say to Allah Almighty, “My Lord and Allah”, but due to disobedience, He was outcast.

The birth of Adam (peace be upon Him) has been mentioned earlier in the third Section of Surah ‘Al-Baqarah. It has been told there that “Allah Almighty has appointed Adam as His Own Vicegerent”. Choosing Adam as Viceroy, His children became viceroy too. This mention has been made in the last verse of previous chapter i.e. Suratul ‘An-‘aam, and it has already been explained there.

Here, the aim to tell the story of Adam (peace be upon Him) is that the human beings should be acquainted with the enmity of Satan completely and be warned properly that they are most powerful in the world. They can inflex the things of the world as they wish by means of their internal virtues and abilities. Entire external powers are their servant and obedient, but one power has denied to be their servant and obedient. Due to this reason, it has become compulsory that they should be guided to remain attentive, so that they may understand that when they will spend their powers for their betterment, there is such a power, which will say/misguide through guile, by flattery and threatening, to spend their virtues, according to his instructions, as it might be possible, due to which they will suffer instead of reaping advantage. Therefore, they have been informed properly that they should not use their powers in accord with the commands of Iblis. He (the Devil) is their enemy, who will try his best to ruin them. The mankind should use his powers according to the Commands of Almighty Allah, Which have been revealed in the Holy Qur’an.

Appointing the livelihood for the Mankind

Lesson # 827 from the Noble Quran

Appointing the livelihood for the Mankind

Surah ‘A’-‘RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)–Stage – 2

Verse – 10 of 206, Sections – 1 of 24 (Part – 8)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And We have established you in the earth, and appointed for you therein livelihoods. Little give ye thanks.     Wa  laqad  makkanNaakum  fil-‘arzi  wa  ja-‘alNaa  lakum  fiihaa  ma-‘aa-yish.  Qaliilam-maa  tash-kuruun.

92371460

Lesson

MakkanNaa – (We have established), it is a past tense, origin of which is Tamkiin and derived from Makaan. Makaan means “the place of living, house, station, abode, residence, nest etc.” Tamkiin means “to make room for, to provide place for living, to settle, to establish. It means “to make someone owner of any station too”.

Ma-‘aa-yish – (livelihood), it is plural of ma-‘iishatun, which is an adverb from ‘iish. ‘Iish means: to live, to exist, Ma-‘iishatun means “source of life, useful commodity, livelihood”.

From the beginning, it has been described in this Chapter (Surah) that this Scripture has come for your precept. You should obey Its Commands and should not obey any other giving it up, because the disobedient have been punished before you and have reached recompense for their evil done, and they will be retreated on the Day of Judgment too, and the Messengers (peace be upon Them) will say entire: We had conveyed Our Message unto them. Now You know better about them. After this discussion, the procedure of knowing the Lord Almighty has been explained before the mankind in this verse.

It is commanded: Consider thoughtfully! Who established you in the earth making you too much powerful? Verily Allah Almighty established only, in front of Whom, everything is bowing. Produce the claim if anyone has any against Him, so that he may prove his claim, but first of all, none has any power to sue such claim, however if anyone claimed stupidly, he will be ashamed and will get a drubbing, because he cannot produce its proof.

Listen! We have established you in the earth and produced many things to be useful for you and made you their owner and with them your all needs of life are fulfilled. After giving you all these things, We made you king of the world (vicegerent of Allah). It is your first duty that you should be thankful to your Generous and Benefactor. But it is observed that mostly you do not thank Him, and if ever you are thankful, that is a little and fictitious.

The aim is that the human being should think – looking his own dignity and rank in the world, that, Who provided all this? It is the duty of his sense, and too much wisdom is sufficient for him, which has been given to some animals also. The animals recognize that person, who gives them food and drinkable, and looks after them, and they serve him at their own as much as they can. From many of their works and signs, it can be known clearly that they recognize their master and feel thankful to him.

The mankind has more sense and wisdom than that, which is ordinarily held with the animals. It is not meant indeed that he becomes dead and gone even more than the animals in recognizing and being thankful to his Benefactor, and even does not understand that: I should be thankful to my Benefactor from all sorts and I should obey His every Command.

In reality, they are many wise people in the human beings, who recognize their Creator, Master and Lord very well, but so much sense has been given to all, with which they can know well efficiently that: None in the world can be my creator, who may give me so much power and strength and who may produce everything, which is necessary for me to live (except Allah Almighty). Certainly there is Someone Superior to the world, Who created me and gave me all these things. I should be thankful to Him only every time.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

8.  And the weighing on that Day is certainty. As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful.

9.  And as for those whose scale is light; those are they who have lost their souls because they used to wrong Our Revelations.

8.  Wal-waznu  Yawma-‘izi-nilhaqq.  Faman  saqulat  mawaaziinuhuu  fa-‘ulaaa-‘ika  humul-Muflihuun.

Lesson

Mawaaziina – it is plural of mawzuun, which has been derived from the word wazan (weight). Mawzuun means the thing which is weighed. Mawaaziina is plural also of the word miizaan, which means “the scales”.

Yazlimuun – it is from zalama, which means “to seize and hold without right, to violate one’s right”. Violation of the right regarding the Verses is that those (verses) are not believed in (denial of the Revelations).

It was commanded in the previous verse that the people will be questioned on the Day of Judgment: The Messengers of Allah Almighty (peace be upon Them) had come unto you. Did you obey Them or otherwise? And the Messengers (peace be upon Them) will be asked too by Allah Almighty: Did you convey Our Message to the people? Then exactly True Reality of good and bad acts and deeds of the people will be manifested before everybody.

It is commanded that the weight will be estimated entirely and correctly. He/she will be successful and will get deliverance, whose good deeds will be weighty than other side of a pair of the scales, whereas whose good deeds will be light, they will face failure and calamity, because they did not act in the world in accord with Our (God’s) Guidance.

The aim of causing to understand from this verse is that nobody can estimate the value of one’s those activities and deeds, whichever are done by any individual in the world, whereas everyone should examine every work of own before performing or committing it according to those Principles, which have been described in the verses of Holy Qur’aan, and which have been cleared by the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) significantly.

Nevertheless, that person who does not examine own activities according to the prescribed standard mentioned in these verses, but performs or commits good or bad deeds as one desires, he/she should know that an account of entire activities will be taken, and those will be weighed in accordance with the principles of these verses.

In the world, aforementioned prescribed standard is hidden in these verses. You would have observed and examined before performing or committing any deed on its touchstone, but you did not try. On the Day of Judgment, these all verses, which are sources of testing the deeds, touchstones, standard and measuring instruments, will appear in the form of a pair of scales. And every individual will see clearly the weight of own acts and its value.

These pair of scales, touchstones and measuring instruments etc. are the sources for knowing the cost and value of anything in the world, so the Commands of Holy Qur’aan will appear on the Day of Resurrection in a perceived form, which have been named as Miizaan (A Balance, A pair of Scales), so that we may understand it easily. This Miizaan is actually the Commands, Principles, Rules and Regulations of the Holy Qur’aan, with which, we had to examine our deeds and works during our stay in the world. These will be formed there in such significant and feeling shapes, by which, none will remain doubtful a little bit to know the value and cost of one’s acts and deeds.

Lesson

Qaaa-‘iluun – {(they) slept at noon}, this word is plural of Qaa-‘ilun, which has been derived from Qay-luulatun. Qay-luulatun means “to sleep at noon. There is another word “Qaawal”, which is used for him or her, who says something, and it is made from “Qawl”. But according to the Arabic principle, both words are spoken “doer, operator, (gram) Subject. Therefore, its meaning can be known by reading the dictation, which is before and after this word.

Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded in the previous verse that He should frighten the opposite people that they should follow the Revelations mentioned in this Scripture (Qur’aan). In this verse, condition of those people has been described, who did not obey the Sayings of God’s Messengers (peace be upon Them) and a sudden terror came unto them in the form of a raid, so they could do nothing to save themselves.

It is commanded: We have destroyed many townships due to disobedience, carelessness and negligence of the people dwelling into them because there was no form of their being correct. They used to remain busy in games and play thoughtlessly, and sleep spreading their feet with comfort.

The terror of Allah Almighty came upon some of those people, who were senseless at night and it pounced some of them, while they were sleeping at noon. At that time they screamed and cried, made a noise of their expression of suffering, distress, pain and grief. Every one of them was saying nothing but that: Alas! Lo! We were tyrant and wrongdoers. We remained involved in negligence and evil deeds. We did not know that the consequence of our wicked deeds would be as it was. But at that time, the repentance was not useful.

There was no reason with them to be entangled in the negligence and committing sins before it. They were told the Straight Path. The Messengers and Prophets (peace be upon Them) had come unto them). Allah Almighty says: Verily We shall ask from all of them about it. We shall question the wrongdoers: Tell Us now! Why did you not obey the Sayings of Our Messengers (peace be upon Them). And We shall ask from the Messengers: Whether did you deliver Our Message to them or otherwise? Then We shall tell them clearly: We know your perverseness also as well as the state of the Messengers (peace be upon Them). Neither You were hidden from Our Vision and nor We were absent ever from you. Take it! It is the proof of your evil deeds. Now you will be punished as retaliation of your wrongdoings.
