Quran Chapter 14 – 42 & 43 (Pt-13, Stg-3) (L-1645) – درس قرآن
Knowing Lord and turning towards Him
Surah ‘Ibraahiim (Abraham) – 14
‘A-‘uu-zu Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.
(I seek refuge in God from Satan the outcast.)
(In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.)
|42. And deem not that Allah is Unaware of what the wicked do. He but giveth them a respite till a Day when eyes will stare (in terror)-
43. As they come hurrying on in fear; their heads upraised, their gaze returning not to them, and their hearts void (with terror).
|42. Wa laa tahsaban-nAllaaha gaafilan ‘ammaa ya’-maluz-zaali-muun. ‘Innamaa yu-‘akh-khiruhum li-Yawmin tash-khasu fiihil-‘absaar.
43. Muhti-‘iina muqni-‘ii ru-‘uusihim laa yartaddu ‘ilay-him tar-fuhum. Wa ‘af-‘idatu-hum hawaaa’.
Tash-khasu – (will gaze), it aims that on the Day of Resurrection, the eyes of the wicked people will stare, which will not be able to be closed.
Muhti-‘iina – (their running condition), it is the plural subject from the word ‘ah-taa-‘un, which has been derived from ha-ta-‘a. Ha-ta-‘a means “running fast”. ‘Ah-taa-‘un means “running fast in terror”.
Muqni-‘ii – (upraised), actually this word is muqni-‘iin. However, due to annexing, the last “n” has been removed. It has come out from qana-‘a. qanuu’ means “to rise up”. ‘Iqnaa’ means “to raise up”.
It is commanded that the disbelievers of Allah Almighty should consider thoughtfully that they have been given a respite in the world, so that they should know their Lord and turn towards Him. Their condition, on the Day of Resurrection, will be such that they will come hurrying on in fear. Their heads will be upraised. Their eyes will remain staring continuously, which will not be able to be closed or turned to down, right or left. Their hearts will be uneasy with terror.
