Quran Chapter 31: 33 (Pt-21, Stg-5) (L-2553) درس قرآن

Let not worldly life delude you

Chapter LUQMAAN”- (LUQMAN) – 31

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

33.  O mankind! Keep your duty to your Lord and fear a Day when the parent will not be able to avail the child in aught, nor the child to avail the parent. Lo! Allah’s Promise is the very truth; so let not the life of the world beguile you, nor let the deceiver beguile you, in regard to Allah. 33.  Yaaa-‘ayyuhan-naasut-taquu  Rabbakum  wakhshaw  Yawmal-laa  yajzii  waalidun  ‘anw-waladihii  wa  laa  mawluudun  huwa  jaazin  ‘anw-waalidihii  shay-‘aa.  ‘Inna  Wa’-dAllaahi  haqqun  falaa  tagur-ranna-kumul-hayaatud-dunyaa.  Wa  laa  yagurran-nakum-  Billaahil-Garuur.

Commentary

It was commanded in previous verses: After observing favors and graces of Allaah Almighty spread everywhere, the mankind should know Him and get ready to obey His Commandments. But the conduct of the mankind is very astonishing. He reaps advantages from the graces of Allaah Almighty every time, but forgets Him and welcomes others courteously. However, when any sudden harsh misfortune falls, in which he finds no helper, then he turns his attention fully towards Allaah Almighty and cries unto Him, making his faith pure for Him only. His injustice is it that as soon as his misfortune is removed, he becomes ingrate.

In this verse it is commanded: You should be careful, fear from the displeasure of Allaah Almighty every time and remember it that such dreadful Day is near to come when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all.

It is the Promise of Allaah Almighty which cannot be withdrawn, because His Promise is not for the time being, but His Word is the strongest and soundest. Therefore, you should believe in it and should not be entangled in the deception and misunderstanding of the life of this world. You should not fall in the scheming of Satan because he deceives the mankind in the name of Allaah Almighty. For example, he says: You should enjoy your life, Allaah Almighty is Forgiving, Merciful.

Be cautious! Salvation is in fearing from the wrath of Allaah Almighty.

Commentary

‘Az-zulali – (the things which enshroud over heads, for example, clouds, mountain, thatched roof, sunshades etc.), this word is plural of zullatun which has been derived from zillun. Zillun means “shadow”.

Khat-taarun – (treacherous, traitor, deceiver), this word has come out from khatar, which means “to deceive”.

Muqtasidun – (those who are moderate in faith, temperate), this is the Subject from the word ‘iqtasaad, which has been derived from qasad.

It is commanded: You see that how the ships sail on the surface of the water of the Sea, transport and carry goods from one place to the other by the Grace of Allaah Almighty. Do you not see His Divine Power in it? There are Signs for knowing Allaah Almighty in it for them who are temperate and grateful. Moreover, when waves come over them like canopies, they begin to supplicate Allaah Almighty sincerely. But after reaching the coast of the sea, some of them remain moderate in their faith. However most of them reject the Signs of Allaah Almighty. Such people are treacherous and ungrateful.
