‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

40.  Allah is He Who created you and then sustained you, then causeth you to die, then giveth life to you again. Is there any of your (so-called) partners (of Allah) that doeth aught of that? Praised and Exalted be He above what they associate (with Him)! 40.  ‘Allaahul-lazii  khalaqakum  summa  razaqakum  summa  yumiitukum  summa  yuhyiikum.  Hal  min  Shurakaaa-‘ikum-many-yaf-‘alu  min  zaalikum-min  shay’.  SubhaanaHuu  wa  Ta-‘aalaa  ‘ammaa  yushrikuun.

(Section 4)

Commentary

Power of Satan’s rebellion excited him that as far as it may be possible, he should oppose the natural Law and try his best to mislead others also that they should choose the same way. Having belief in Allaah Almighty and abiding by His Commandments was his natural duty, but he disobeyed Allaah Almighty and denied from bowing before Adam (peace be upon him). He got ready with effect from that time that he would bend the descendants of Adam to break the natural Law. If Satan had not been present, the mankind would have gone straight forward according to the nature. Satan has deceived the mankind, but Allaah Almighty has given respite to the mankind in punishment. Moreover, it does not mean that punishment will not be given due to opposing the Natural Law. Not only this, but Allaah Almighty sent His Prophets (peace be upon them) from time to time for guidance of the mankind and manifesting the Law of reward and punishment. Even that the last Messenger of Allaah Almighty, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) brought complete Law of Wisdom, that is to say, Holy Qur’an; and described that none should be adored save Allaah Almighty.

Therefore, it is commanded: Allaah is the One Who created you, then arranged for your provision, and then He will cause you to die. It is obvious that giving life, bringing up and causing to die is not in the power of any other than Allaah Almighty. Besides this, He will bring all of you back to life again after death, reward and punishment will be given to every individual according to personal deeds.

Think for awhile! Can any of your self-fabricated gods do any of the above mentioned works? While no, then you would have to believe that Allaah Almighty is Rare, Praised and Exalted from all. Even then, why do you associate others with Him? Do not worship any other instead of Allaah Almighty and give up these stupid things.

Commentary

It was proved in the previous verses that the mankind bows naturally toward The Real God (Allaah Almighty), his mind understands by birth that good works are good and evil deeds are bad. As though, his natural inclination is towards “following the prescribed Law of Allaah Almighty”.

After that, Allaah Almighty commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Follow Allaah Almighty and His Law unhesitatingly, and keep in obtaining His Pleasure!

Then it is commanded: Give the relatives their right. The relative who is as much closer than others, so much more right he deserves than others. Provide financial help to them, and usually those who are needy and who are travelers. It is the best way of dwelling in the world for the people who desire the Countenance of Allaah Almighty, because love of wealth throws away to the mankind from the Straight Path. He wishes that his wealth should increase more and more.

Therefore, it is commanded: Which wealth will be spent only for earning worldly benefits, will not be profitable for you with Allaah Almighty. However those who will spend their wealth with pure intention for the pleasure of Allaah Almighty; they will find its benefits with Him. Earning by unlawful means, usury and interest, will not be useful with Allaah Almighty. If you will pay the poor-due, charity and spend according to His Commandment, then it will increase with Him manifold.
