Direct your face toward Islam, your Religion

Chapter “RUUM” – (THE ROMANS) – 30

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

  بَلِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ فَمَن يَهْدِى مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ 29  فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا 30a

29.  Nay, but those who do wrong follow their own lusts without knowledge. Who is able to guide him whom Allah hath sent astray? And for such there are no helpers.   30a.  So set thy purpose (O Muhammad) for Religion as a man by nature upright –

29.  Balittaba-‘allaziina  zalamuuu  ‘ahwaaa-‘ahum-  bi-gayri  ‘ilm.  Famany-yahdii  man  ‘azallAllaah.  Wa  maa  lahum-min-naasiriin.   30a.  Fa-‘aqim  wajhaka  lid-Diini  haniifaa.

Commentary

It was commanded previously: These people consider that their bondmen and bondmaids are not partners in their personal things, but they believe that the bondmen and bondmaids of Allaah Almighty are His partners equally in all matters. If it is not stubbornness then what is this?

 

After that, it is commanded: These people have got ready to do injustice. They do not meditate for knowing the Truth, have been running behind their desires in the darkness of ignorance like the refractory camel. Neither they listen to those who advise them and nor see towards their real well-wishers. Who can guide them? Obstinacy and carelessness from good matters throws away from the right path.

 

Woe to them who left the right path and chose the way of crookedness. The person, who will not reflect in the Commandments of Allaah Almighty, will certainly go astray. Surely the Law of Allaah Almighty will seize them and there will be none who may save them from the punishment of their evil deeds. No one will have courage to help them by opposing Allaah Almighty. Therefore, they will find no supporter anywhere.

 

In such condition, O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): You should leave them to their situation, turn away from their ill-behavior, let them be entangled in the bog of infidelity and polytheism, and you should direct your face toward Islam which is your Religion; without inclining to any other side.

Ownership of that which Allah has bestowed

Chapter “RUUM” – (THE ROMANS) – 30

  ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَكَآءَ فِى مَا رَزَقْنَٰكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْءَايَٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ 28

28.  He coineth for you a similitude of yourselves. Have ye, from among those whom your right hands possess, partners in the wealth We have bestowed upon you, equal with you in respect thereof, so that ye fear them as ye fear each other (that ye ascribe unto Us partners out of that which We created)? Thus We display the Revelations for people who have sense.

28.  Zaraba  lakum-masalam-min  ‘anfusikum.  Hal-lakum-mim-maa  malakat  ‘aymaanu-kum-min  shurakaaa-‘a  fii  maa  razaq-Naakum  fa-‘antum  fiihi  sawaaa-‘un  takhaa-fuunahum  ka-khiifati-kum  ‘anfusa-kum.  Kazaalika  Nufas-silul-‘Aayaati  liqaw-miny-ya’-qiluun.

Commentary

In the verses before this, Portents of the Power of Allaah Almighty were explained, by heeding in which, He can be known clearly. When you have known Allaah Almighty then it is necessary to understand that there can be no partner or associate of Him in any matter. When you believed that every living being who exists in the heavens and the earth, is His obedient and slave, then you should meditate upon your own circumstances that, which kind of conduct do you consider correct among Master and Slave mutually yourselves. Although Glory and Attributes of Allaah Almighty are so much higher and better than dignity and attributes of the people that you cannot compare between them, but for causing to understand you, one such form from your personal matters is being described, by which you will come to know clearly the evil of the belief in the plurality of God. Can any slave of you be a partner of equal rights in your such wealth and property which Allaah Almighty has bestowed to you and do you take care of your slaves like your equal partners when you spend or use your wealth? Moreover, while the entire living being creatures are slaves of Allaah Almighty, and there is none equal of Him, then how can anyone of them be the partner of Allaah Almighty? This matter is very clear for them who use their sense properly and We explain Our Revelations like this for them.
