Commentary

It is the condition of a spider that certainly she makes a house for herself, but that house cannot save its dweller and her belongings. If hand is jerked a little, even if one blows with pressure, it perishes. Flies and a species of insects can be caught in it, but it is useless for protection. Neither its dweller is safe and nor its ingredients escape from destruction.

The same state is of those, who make relationship with any other than Allaah Almighty. Those, who have concern with Him, come in His protection and they are saved from all kinds of disasters. Contrary to it those, who ask others for help, are unsafe, and their things cannot escape from destruction. It is surprising that neither the mankind does know this very little matter and nor understands if explained.

After that, it is commanded: No supporter, other than Allaah Almighty, can save His disobedient people from punishment. The sun, the moon and the stars or idols of gods and goddesses have no power. Chosen Servants of Allaah Almighty and Angels (peace be upon them) are not ready to hear from the disobedient. They try their best to please Allaah Almighty during their entire life. Neither anyone has any personal ability or power except Allaah Almighty that he may use it in His matters and nor they are owners of anyone’s harm or profit. Allaah Almighty is Who has permanent Power and Strength, Who bestows everything to His all creatures, Who gave Empire to the King and Prophet-hood to the Prophet. Neither He is needy of any other’s help and nor He desires counsel of any individual. As He is the Exalted in Might, He is the Wise too.

Commentary

Allaah Almighty has given intelligence and wisdom to the mankind more than other animals in the world. He should consider thoughtfully and choose such way of life which may protect him from all dangers and difficulties. He should understand it well that he has been encircled from all around in afflictions and misfortunes. Prophets of Allaah Almighty (peace be upon them), particularly His last Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) have caused to understand carefully that the mankind will not be free of calamities even after death, till he will not choose the Religion Islam, prescribed by Allaah Almighty.

The people do not use their sense properly in adopting the Religion. Some are those who choose others’ religion; that is to say; way of life blindly in their imitation. Some people go astray due to greed of the world. Some of them become blind due to stubborn and prejudice. Maximum people keep in view their temporary benefits of this world, and follow them to whom they find rich and vested with power.

That is the actual Religion, which is better and beneficial for all human beings in all conditions, foundation of which has been established on “Oneness of God”, which strengthens that you should neither associate any other in adoring with Allaah Almighty, and nor consider that someone else also may be your Supporter or Helper except Him, because there is none save Allaah Almighty who may have power to help you in difficulties. The people who beg earnestly before others instead of Allaah Almighty, they should understand that their example is like the Spider, house of which is a cobweb only, and there is no weaker house than it in the world.

The same condition is of the gods of Idolaters. Those cannot save them from any disaster. The mankind should not be so much careless as the spider, and seek such house of refuge which may protect him and his belongings. And he should choose such way of life (Religion), by which he may save himself from present and future, casual and perpetual dangers of this world and of the Hereafter.
