Allah takes every sinner in his sins

Chapter ’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) – 29

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

39b.  And Moses came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty), but they were boastful in the land; and they were not winners (in the race).

40a.  So We took each one in his sin;

39b.  Wa  laqad  jaaa-‘ahum-Muusaa  bil-Bayyinaati  fastakbaruu  fil-‘arzi  wa  maa  kaanuu  saabiqiin.

40a.  Fakullan  ‘akhazNaa  bi-zambih.

Commentary

It is commanded: When Korah, Pharaoh and Hamaan got ready for revolting, We sent Moses (peace be upon him) for causing to understand them. He produced before them such open and clear Tokens as proof of his Prophet-hood, by observing of which, no one could have any doubt in his Messenger-hood, but nothing was visible to them before their power and dignity, wealth and property. They became ignorant intentionally. They had eyes and ears but neither did they see and nor hear. Pharaoh was the King of Egypt and so much powerful that he had claimed to be God. He said clearly: I am not ready to accept any other as greater than me, who may order me.

Haamaan was his Minister. He said: While Pharaoh gives me everything then why should I see towards any other? Korah (Qaaruun) was from the Children of Israel and he had admitted that Moses (peace be upon him) was a Prophet. But having so much wealth he considered that obeying Moses (peace be upon him) was unnecessary. He thought: I am rich, so my wealth will protect me from all calamities.

It is commanded: Neither anyone of them was out of Our Seizure and nor they had power to win from Us in competition. They used to boast verbally, could be defeated in Our one signal only and would not be able to do something for themselves.

Accordingly the same happened. Our wrath seized all wrongdoers in different forms – not only Korah, Pharaoh or Hamaan, but whosoever gripped up his loins on rebellion.

Aversion from the Right Path

Chapter ’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) – 29

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

38.  And (the tribes of) ‘Aad and Samuud! (Their fate) is manifest unto you from their (ruined and deserted) dwellings. And Satan made their deeds seem fair unto them so debarred them from the Way, though they were keen observers –

39a.  And Korah, Pharaoh and Haamaan!

38.  Wa  ‘Aadanw-wa  Samuuda  wa  qat-tabayyana  lakum-mim-masaakinihim.  Wa  zayyana  lahumush-Shaytaanu  ‘a’-maalahum  fasadda-hum  ‘anis-Sabiili  wa  kaanuu  Mustabsiriin.

39a.  Wa  Qaaruuna  wa  Fir-‘awna  wa  Haamaan.

Commentary

Mustabsiriina – (observers, those who were endowed with perception), this word is plural of mustabsirun, which is the Subject from ‘istabsaar. Its origin is basar which means “vision, sight, reason & knowledge”. ‘Istabsaar means “to take work from internal sagacity, to find out from informations”. Mustabsirun means “observer, thinker who understands”.

After describing about the folks of Noah, Abraham and Lot (peace be upon them), it is commanded: In the middle times of Noah and Abraham (peace be upon them), many folks have passed in the Arabian land, out of which ‘Aad and Samuud were such folks who became more arrogant than others. These people were very robust and clever in their worldly matters. But alas! They did not use their sense properly. They chose evil-working and considered after looking worldly merriment and prosperity that it would remain always. Satan encouraged them and commended their deeds so much that they abstained away from the Path fixed by Allaah Almighty. And Satan tried his best that they should never return to the Right Path. They were intelligent but came in his deception and did not follow the Sayings of the Prophets (peace be upon them).

At last they were entangled in the Wrath of Allaah Almighty. The ruins of their townships have been telling till today that they were very strong people. But they could do nothing before the Commandment of Allaah Almighty. Their wisdom and sense became useless.

People of Makkah, who travel in those ruins, should take a warning from those ruins. After the description of Abraham (peace be upon him), there is mention about Korah, Pharaoh and Haamaan, who were great mischievous persons.
