Consequence of doing wrong

Chapter “’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) – 29

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

 

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ 14  فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَأَصْحَٰبَ ٱلسَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَٰهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلْعَٰلَمِينَ 15

14.  And verily We sent Noah (as Our Messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrongdoers.   15.  So We rescued him and those with him in the ship, and made of it a Portent for the peoples.

14.  Wa  laqad  ‘arsalNaa  Nuuhan  ‘ilaa  qawmihii  falabisa  fiihim  ‘alfa  sanatin  ‘illaa  khamsiina  ‘aamaa.  Fa-‘akhaza-humut-Tuufaanu  wa  hum  zaalimuun.   15.  Fa-‘anjayNaahu  wa  ‘As-haabas-Safiinati  wa  ja-‘alNaahaaa  ‘Aayatal-lil-‘Aalamiin.

Commentary

It was described earlier that wrongdoers trouble them who believe and do good works. But the aim from it is to test the Believers, so that they may deserve honors and favors of Allaah Almighty by remaining steadfast. For satisfaction of the Muslims, at first it was described in short that the Believers were tested in the past too like you. But at last, those got success who endured difficulties with patience in the Path of Allaah Almighty. And those, who troubled them, were ruined.

 

Now this statement has been manifested by describing the circumstances of some ancient nations and their Prophets (peace be upon them). Allaah Almighty commands: We appointed Noah as Our Messenger (peace be upon him) and sent him to his people for causing to understand them that they should live as the slaves of Allaah Almighty being separate from haughtiness and pride, give up hating the poor, and strong people should refrain from molesting the weak.

 

Noah (peace be upon him) caused to understand them for nine hundred and fifty years. But none of them listened to him save some distressed people. All of them resisted and did not understand that they were tyrannizing their own souls. At last a vigorous storm of water reached which seized them.

 

Noah (peace be upon him) and his companions went on board a ship and were saved from the flood. Other all people were drowned and became a warning story in the history of the world for future generations.

Inveigling the Muslims

Chapter “’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) – 29

It was commanded in the previous verses that the people who believed in Allaah Almighty, would be tested that whether they were true in their claim of Belief or against it. If one is troubled by the Disbelievers in executing the Commands of Allaah Almighty, he should endure, because anyhow, this trouble would certainly be less than that torment which has been fixed for disobedience of Allaah Almighty. It is not dignity of Believers that they should run away due to fear of worldly difficulties, because in such condition, either they will dwell in the world as a Disbeliever or they would have to live as an Idolater or a Hypocrite. All these three forms are consequently foundation of mankind’s destruction. The salvation of the mankind is only in acceptance of proper Oneness of God (Allaah Almighty). It is the point from which Satan desires to push him back at any cost. The Unity is such compulsory thing that if even most respectable guardians like parents say that you should fall back from it, then you should not obey them in this matter. None can snatch the graciousness of Belief from those who recite wholeheartedly “The Word of Unity” [Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illAllaahu, Muhammadur-RasuulUllaah {None is worthy of worship but Allaah, Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is Messenger of Allaah}].

 

Infidels of Makkah were desirous that the Muslims should leave their Religion. They used to frighten, threaten, beat, trouble and along with it inveigle them. The Muslims were informed about their tricks and it was said: Be careful! By being embarrassed from their causing trouble or being taken in their flatteries; you should never be driven back from the Path of Belief, otherwise you also will be entangled in the Doom of Allaah Almighty like them. Alas! This misfortune has not given over the Muslims till today. Idolaters of Makkah used to say verbally to the Muslims: In which calamity you have been entangled by leaving worldly blessings? What a sin and what a punishment? This world is everything. You should be addicted to pleasure and do as you wish fearlessly. We shall bear punishment on behalf of you if you are chosen for torment.

 

But the effort of enticing the Muslims to draw them back from their Religion, which was commenced after that, was more dangerous than the earlier. They gave up saying by their tongues that nothing was in the Religion Islam. But they arranged to cheapen the prices of worldly luxurious things so much that life of abstinence became more difficult day by day to pass.

 

At last, most of the Muslims fell into their scheming. Wealth, woman and land brought them into their grasp. These enemies, who were more dangerous than the old, succeeded in repelling them from their Right Path. Everyone can understand easily after looking the present condition of the Muslims that followers of the Idolaters of Makkah finished them.
