God will make evident the Hypocrites

Chapter “’Ankabuut”- (The Spider) – 29

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

 (I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.
(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

 

أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ 10b  وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقِينَ 11  وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَٰيَٰكُمْ 12a

10b.  Is not Allah Best Aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures?   11.  And verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the Hypocrites.   12a.  And those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you).

10b.  ‘Awa  laysAllaahu  bi-‘A’-lama  bimaa  fii  suduuril-‘aalamiin.   11.  Wa  laya’-lamannAllaahul-laziina  ‘aamanuu  wa  laya’-lamannal-Munaafiqiin.   12a.  Wa  qaalallaziina  kafaruu  lillaziina  ‘aamanuttabi-‘uu  sabiilanaa  wal-nahmil  khataa-yaakum.

Commentary

It is commanded: Do these ignorant people consider that Allaah Almighty is not Best Aware of what is within their breasts? Though, the fact is it that He is Most Knowing of entire secrets hidden within the breasts of all creatures. Say to them: You can deceive the human beings but cannot cheat Allaah Almighty. It is the matter that they do not know Him as He should be known. Their fraudulences cannot run before Allaah Almighty.

 

After that, it is commanded: True Believers and Deceivers will be separated from one another very soon. And everything will come before eyes very clearly that who is right and who is wrong. After that, the Muslims have been warned to be careful from one more trick of the Disbelievers. It is commanded that the Disbelievers say to the Believers: Sin and innocence are deception. Goodness and badness of deeds are nothing. That is good which a mankind desires to do. O dear! Give up all such disputes. Look at us, how we have been enjoying our lives. You also should do according to your will. Sin or evil is nothing. Suppose if it is! Then we take responsibility of your entire sins. You say that the deeds will be reckoned on the Day of Resurrection. When you will be asked concerning your deeds, then you should indicate towards us. We will be ready to bear at your place.

وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ 10a

10a.  And of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah’s punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! We were with you (all the while).

10a.  Wa  minan-naasi  many-yaquulu  ‘aamannaa  Billaahi  fa-‘izaaa  ‘uuziya  Fillaahi  ja-‘ala  fitnatan-naasi  ka-‘AzaaBillaah.  Wa  la-‘in  jaaa-‘a  nasrum-mir-Rabbika  laya-quulunna  ‘innaa  kunnaa  ma-‘akum.

Commentary

 

Fitnatun – (test, examination), here it aims “trouble, pain, sorrow, torture, calamity, distress”. Fitnatan-naasi – (that pain and calamity which one receives from the people).

 

In this verse, there is mention concerning those people who did not believe wholeheartedly and turned towards that side where they saw their benefit. It is commanded: Some are such people who say by their tongues that they believe in Allaah Almighty. But where the Disbelievers overawed, they changed immediately and began to follow them. They consider that teasing by the people and Torment of Allaah Almighty are equal. When they believed, the Disbelievers troubled them. Then they were confused and turned from their belief. They were ignorant who did not know that due to turning from belief; Allaah Almighty would punish them very severely, contrary to which; worldly afflictions given by the Disbelievers; due to their Belief; are just like nothing. But along with it; they do not forfeit their friendship also with the Muslims openly. Apparently they keep themselves separate from the Muslims due to fear of the Disbelievers, but when the Muslims obtain a victory by the Grace and Help of Allaah Almighty, then they come forthwith for getting their share from the Booty and begin to flatter and say: We are also Muslims and your companions. We were never separate from you. We harassed the enemies so much that they will remember it.
