‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

86.  Thou hadst no hope that the Scripture would be inspired in thee; but it is a Mercy from thy Lord, so never be a helper to the Disbelievers.

85.  ‘InNallazii  faraza  ‘alaykal-Qur-‘aana  laraaadduka  ‘ilaa  Ma-‘aad.  Qur-Rabbiii  ‘a-lamu  man  jaaa-‘a  bil-Hudaa  wa  man  huwa  fii  zalaalim-mubiin.

86.  Wa  maa  kunta  tarjuuu  ‘any-yulqaaa  ‘ilaykal-Kitaabu  ‘illaa  Rahmatam-mir-Rabbika  falaa  takuunanna  zahiiral-lil-Kaafiriin.

Commentary

Ma-‘aad – (a Place of Return), it is an Adverb from the word ‘awd. ‘Awd means “to come back”. The aim from Ma-‘aad is “the Township of Makkah, from where the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) had to flee for Madinah”.

It was commanded earlier: The world is only for a few days. Permanent Residence is the Abode of the Hereafter. Therefore, one should be constantly thinking of obtaining it. And that will be for them who will leave dwelling as a great person in the world, give up exciting a disturbance and live like the abstinent.

It has been commanded in this verse: Success of this world and the Hereafter can be gotten by complying with the Commandments mentioned in Holy Qur’an. This verse was revealed at the time of Departure, when the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was compelled for the Flight from Makkah due to oppressions of the wicked people. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was satisfied that Allaah Almighty, Who has imposed upon you duty of executing the Commands of Holy Qur’an, He will please you by its blessing in the world too.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Allaah Almighty has laid this duty on you that you should abide by the Commandments of Holy Qur’an. He will bring you back in the same Township safe and sound with honor. He is Most Merciful. You did not expect that a Splendid Book like Qur’an will be given to you. It is appearance of the Mercy only of your Lord. You should say to the Disbelievers: Allaah Almighty is Well Aware that who is on Guidance and who is Astray. He knows all of the Believers and Disbelievers of Qur’an.

Retaliation of good deeds

Chapter Qasas”- (The Story) – 28

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahiminash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

84.  Whoso bringeth a good deed, he will have better than the same; while as for him who bringeth an ill-deed, those who do ill-deeds will be requited only what they did. 84.  Man-  jaaa-‘a  bil-hasanati  falahuu  khayrum-minhaa.  Wa  man-  jaaa-‘a  bis-sayyi-‘ati  falaa  yujzallaziina  ‘amilus-sayyi-‘aati  ‘illaa  maa  kaanuu  ya’-maluun.

Commentary

It was commanded in the previous verses: Love with the life of this world is useless. The people who considered that pomp and show of the world was best, who began to collect things of worldly pleasure, who rejected the sayings of advisers, who did not give importance to the Sayings of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and misunderstood that they were greatest; none could advise them; they were possessors of wealth and property; they were in power; splendor was of them and they were careless from all, they mistook very much.

It was commanded: Such thoughts are meaningless. Behold the End of Korah, think about the Hereafter and repel your attention from worldly matters. The Last Day is good for them who do neither wish to be great in the world and nor spread corruption. They give up forbidden things and matters due to fear of Allaah Almighty and do such good works for which He has commanded to do.

It is commanded: Whoever will come on the Day of Judgment with a good deed will have better than it. It is Our Promise which surely will be fulfilled. But whoever will come with an evil deed – because entire human beings have to come before Us, he should listen to it carefully now that We recompense the evil-doer as much as he committed. They will not be punished more than their wicked deeds. Only so much punishment will be given to them which they deserve.

Here is a Promise for the righteous that requital of their good deeds will be more than their thoughts, but a common rule has been described that punishment will be only equal and according to evil deeds. It has been commanded that if the sinners repent of their sins, then their punishment can be withdrawn. However if they are punished then the punishment will be only as much as greater they committed the sin.
