Commentary

It was described that the Day of Judgment shall surely come. You should neither have any doubt in it and nor hasten but consider that the delay in this matter is beneficial for you. Take up with you mind that when that Day will come, then groups of disobedient people will be caused to stand before Allaah Almighty separately and He will command to them: Our Revelations were recited before you but you did pay no attention. You had to hear them and think that “what is being said and what does it mean?” Explain now! In which works were you involved that you could not spare your time for meditating in Our Commandments?

In this verse, it is commanded: They will be thunderstruck and will not be able to give any answer of above mentioned question, and nothing will come to their mind that they earned by oppressing the people and violence. They deprived the poor of their rights, composed poetry for amusing, wrote dramas, told stories for laughing and causing to laugh, ruled the people and enjoyed fully their lives. They had no spare time for listening to Qur’an and reflecting in the meanings of its verses. In short, they will be tormented due to their wicked deeds and they will not be able to say something.

After that it is commanded: If they had deemed in it that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day for giving sight that they may work, then they would have believed in their Lord. They reaped advantage from all such things but did not know their Creator. The Believers consider that all Portents of the Power of Allaah Almighty exist in it.

Encompassing Signs of Allah in knowledge

Chapter Naml”- (The Ant) – 27

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

83.  And (remind them of) the Day when We shall gather out of every nation a host of those who denied Our Revelations, and they will be set in array.

84.  Till, when they come (before their Lord). He will say: Did ye deny My Revelations when ye could not compass them in knowledge, or what was it that ye did?

83.  Wa  Yawma  Nahshuru  min  kulli  ‘ummatin  fawjam-mim-many-yukazzibu  bi-‘AayaatiNaa  fahum  yuuza-‘uun.

84.  Hattaaa  ‘izaa  jaaa-‘uu  qaala  ‘akazzabtum  bi-‘AayaaTii  wa  lam  tuhiituu  bihaa  ‘ilman  ‘ammaa  zaa  kuntum  ta’-lamuun.

Commentary

Yuuza-‘uuna – {will be (driven) in rows}, they will be divided in separate groups, it aims that every individual will be kept off in own boundary.

‘Ammaa – (or what), actually these are two separate words – ‘am and maa. ‘Am means “or”, and maa means “what”.

It is commanded: After destruction, on the Day of Resurrection, entire mankind will be brought forth to life again. And We shall make separate groups of every sect who used to falsify Our Revelations and Tokens. Then they will be grouped separately in rows class-wise. After that Allaah Almighty will ask from them: Why did you deny Our Revelations, Tokens and disobey Our Prophets (peace be upon them) without trying to understand? You did not bear pain of thinking into them that why this all arrangement has been established. What the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) has been saying that you should believe in it that Allaah Almighty is your God and Lord, while he endures toils and sufferings and give up enjoyments of the world for inviting you. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) says: Listen to the Revelations of Holy Qur’an and meditate in the circumstances of the world. A Day will come when everything will be finished, as now the people die, like this entire living beings will be ruined. Then all mankind will be reproduced in the Hereafter and their deeds will be reckoned. Was your work only it that you should oppose and belie Our Commandments and Sayings of Our Messengers (peace be upon them) whichever they used to describe you? If not so, then you should explain that why did you not perform in accordance with Our Commandments? Why did you do wrong?
