Commentary

Moses (peace be upon him) was standing in ‘Ayman Valley before a House of the Light. By looking, it seemed that it was a Tree, which was burning like fire. He heard a voice, saying to him: These entire are Wonders of the Omnipotence of Allaah Almighty! Way of His work is strange from the world! Listen to the Message, which is being conveyed to you! Then according to the Commandment, Moses (peace be upon him) caught the serpent which had become his staff again.

It was commanded: Our Messengers (peace be upon them) fear not in Our Presence. Only those people fear; who commit any such work which is against Our Will. However there is a concession for them also that if they repent entirely of sins and instead, they begin to do good works, then We forgive such person, because Our Name is Forgiving and Merciful.

Then it was commanded: Put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out White Flashing without any disease as a Miracle. In addition, seven more Miracles were given to him and then it was ordered: Take these nine Tokens to Pharaoh and his people! They have crossed the line of humanity and gripped up their loins to oppress the feeble people. They consider that there is none who may prevent them. They have become totally careless from Us.

Moses turned away without looking back

Chapter Naml”- (The Ant) – 27

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

9.  O Moses! Lo! It is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise –

10.  And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as if it were a serpent, he turned away retreating and looked not back, (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! The emissaries fear not in My Presence –

9.  Yaa-Muusaaa  ‘inna-Huuu  ‘AnAllaahul-‘Aziizul-Hakiim.

10.  Wa  ‘alqi  ‘asaak.  Falam-maa  ra-‘aahaa  tahtazzu  ka-‘annahaa  jaaannunw-wallaa  mudbiranw-wa  lam  yu-‘aqqib.  Yaa-Muusaa  laa-takhaf.  ‘InNii  laa  yakhaafu  ladayyal-mursaluun.

Commentary

Lam  yu-‘aqqib – (he did not return), it is from the word ta’-qiib which has come out from ‘aqab. ‘Aqab means “behind, back”. Ta’-qiib means “to return and looking back”.

It was described previously that when Moses (peace be upon him) reached the fire, he was called, saying: This is not an ordinary fire. In the veil of this Light, Allaah Almighty has been showing Dignity of His Perfect Divine Power. Moses (peace be upon him) was astonished that Who was speaking? Then it was said again: The fact is that I am Allaah. I have Power of all kinds. I know Secrets of all matters and their philosophies. Every work is done as I consider it suitable.

Then it was commanded: Throw down the wooden staff which is in your hand! As soon as the staff touched the land, it became a serpent moving and running hither and thither. Moses (peace be upon him) was confused, so he turned in flight and did not return. Allaah Almighty said: O Moses (peace be upon him)! Fear not! I have appointed you My Messenger, and My Messengers (peace be upon them) do not fear. You have seen My Omnipotence that a piece of wood became a serpent and within a moment it began to wave. Look now one more portent! Catch the serpent with your hand, then it will become your staff again as it was earlier!

Indeed, when Allaah Almighty desires to take any particular work from His any servant, He shows him any of His such Reflection of Light, by which he becomes most courageous.
