Lessons from Holy Qur'an

A brief note

Quran Chapter 25: Summary (Pt-19, Stg-4) (L-2310) درس قرآن

A brief note

Chapter Furqaan”- {The Criterion (of Right and Wrong)} – 25

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

In this dignified Chapter, the human beings have been instructed that they should live in the world according to Commandments of Holy Qur’an including having belief in Allaah Almighty, His Messengers (peace be upon them) and the Scriptures sent down by Him from time to time. It has been described in it that this Qur’an shows clear difference to the mankind between good and evil. The person who recites it and understands its meanings, can know by its way of diction and manner that, without any doubt, only Allaah Almighty is Who is actual God and Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is His last Messenger, and it that there is no excuse for mankind save obedience of the Commandments of Holy Qur’an, if he desires to dwell in the world with comfort as well as get rest after death too, and be saved from painful afflictions. Splendid epithets of Allaah Almighty have been narrated in it. Moreover, it has been explained to the people who doubt in the verses of Holy Qur’an and are not ready to admit that Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is Messenger of Allaah Almighty, that their entire doubts and uncertainties are useless. For keeping up own sway, the idolaters of Makkah used to criticize the simple and normal life of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) which was he passing like common people, that Apostle and Messenger of Allaah Almighty should be most powerful, strongest and a rich person. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would have magnificent residences at high place along with an Army of the Angels, or if not more, then at least one Angel was compulsory accompanying him for his help. Some indecent speakers said: If Allaah had to send any Message, either He would have sent by means of any Angel or He had to pass His Order Himself openly coming before the people.

Answering to all of their questions, it was described: You do not believe in the life after death, so you make such lame excuses. Responsibility of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is to draw a map of life after death before you, so that you fear the consequence of evil deeds and try to acquire rewards of good works. For fulfillment of this duty, Muhammad, Our Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is sufficient. What if he does not have Army, abode and station at high place, wealth and property? He is upright, true and honest, which are qualities of a Prophet. Therefore you should give up doubting, believe in Allaah Almighty and live like good people.

Twelve virtues of righteous people have been mentioned in this Chapter and it has been described to the Infidels of Makkah clearly: It was suitable for you that you had to believe in Allaah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and Holy Qur’an, and produce these virtues into yourselves, but you considered them false. Now you would have to suffer from its worse consequence in the world as well as on the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, worldly consequence appeared in the form of “The Battle of Badr” and on the Doomsday, perpetual torment will surround them. (Let us flee to God).

(Part One-Fourth)

Commentary

Gurfatan – (high place, upper storey, balcony).

Ya’-ba-‘u – (He concerns), origin of this word is ‘ab-‘un, which means “to relate or belong to, to effect or interest, to affect”.

Lizaam – (the thing which clings), it is a Noun from the word lazuum, which means “to hold fast”. The words laazim (necessary, incumbent, intransitive) and ‘iltazaam (being necessary, expedient, taking on one’s self) etc. have come out from the same. Here it aims “unavoidable worse result”.

After describing about virtues of good people, now their reward is being discussed. It is commanded: After death, high places for abiding will be provided to them, because they bore difficulties and hardships, and acted upon the commandments of Allaah Almighty, and remained steadfast in His obedience. They will be most welcomed courteously in the Garden and the Angels (peace be upon them) will receive them with the word of peace. They will greet and salute also to one another mutually. They will dwell in the upper storey abodes forever, which is a good station.

It is commanded: Say to the Disbelievers! Allaah Almighty will not concern Himself with you if you do neither pray from Him and nor Worship Him. You have falsified Our Sayings. You will find its consequence in near future, that is to say, destruction in the world and painful torment in the Hereafter. Our Lord! Save us.

By the Grace of Allaah Almighty, Lessons from Suratul-Furqaan and Fourth Stage of Holy Qur’an ended.
