11.  Nay, but they deny (the coming of) the Hour, and for those who deny (the coming of) the Hour We have prepared a Flame. 11.  Bal  kazzabuu  bis-Saa-‘ati  wa  ‘a’-tadNaa  liman-  kazzaba  bis-Saa-‘ati  Sa-‘iiraa.

Commentary

Allaah Almighty appointed Muhammad as His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), bestowed His last Scripture (Holy Qur’an) unto him and commanded: Recite at first before the people around you that whatsoever is written in it and cause to understand them carefully, from which matters you have been prevented in it, that those are truly bad in favor of you. You should give them up entirely, otherwise you will be entangled in any great trouble, and then it will not be possible to come out from that affliction. Live in the world according to the Instructions mentioned in Holy Qur’an, so that you may succeed in the both worlds and get rid of the entire difficulties.

The people of the Arab to whom this Message was conveyed, were cheerful in their thoughts. Except a few reckonable intelligent persons, no one paid attention toward this Message. They got ready to oppose it, began to treat with contempt Allaah Almighty, His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and His Message (Holy Qur’an. In the beginning of this
Chapter, they were warned that they should leave their wrong path. Allaah Almighty and the Message of Holy Qur’an are true. The doubts which they produce concerning the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), are unreasonable.

It has been commanded in this verse: They have no proper reason of denying the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and Holy Qur’an. The matter is only this that they do not believe in the life after death, reckoning of deeds on the Day of Judgment, reward and punishment. This thought has taken place in their hearts that there is no life after death and it is just like preferring loan on cash.

Allaah Almighty commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him): Say to them! We have prepared the Fire busting forth into Flames for them who do not believe in the Day of Resurrection. It is incumbent that every human being will be raised again after death on that Day and the disobedient people will be thrown into that Fire and there they will dwell as prisoners.

Selfishness of the Idolaters

10.  Blessed is He Who, if He will, will assign thee better than (all) that – Gardens underneath which rivers flow – and will assign thee mansions. 10.  TabaarakallaZiii  ‘in  shaaa-‘a  ja-‘ala  laka  khayram-min  zaalika  Jannaatin  tajrii  min  tahti-hal-‘anhaaru,  wa  yaj-‘al-laka  Qusuuraa.

Commentary

Qusuuraa – (mansions, palaces), this word is plural of qasar, which means “a palace” (the house of a king).

Whatever Infidels of Makkah used to tell a lie in respect of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and Holy Qur’an, was only for the purpose that their pomp should suffer no injury, which had been set up during a long time due to their ancestors. Under the passion of this selfishness, they had been confused because they knew that his (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) frankly Sayings would certainly bloom one or other day. They were neither so much courageous that after bearing their loss, they could support the true Religion, and nor they were able to foresee that lastly by obeying his Sayings, they themselves will reap advantage from beginning to end. They could not understand that his Sayings are not for his personal benefits, but the aim is to lead them; and by means of them to the entire world; unto the straight and right path of dwelling.

Holy Qur’an discloses their stupidity. It has been commanded in these verses: Dignity of the world, desire of pomp and show, wealth and property is deadly poison. It is better for the mankind that they should live altogether and behave equally with all people. They are being caused to understand in a strange way that while everything is in the possession of Allaah Almighty, if He desired O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! He would have bestowed to you more than their saying. You would have verdant, fresh and green gardens. The rivers would have been flowing beneath the trees. You would have magnificent palaces for living, but what would be better in it for the humankind? Better for the human beings is in it that instead of living in a better place than others, one should remain ready every time for obeying the Command of Allaah Almighty.
