Chieftains of the folk of Noah disbelieved -2

Chapter Mu’-minuun” – (The Believers) – 23

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

In this connection, Allaah Almighty described concerning some Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them). It is commanded: We Appointed Noah (peace be upon him) as Our Messenger and sent him for guidance of the people of his time, so that he should cause to understand his folk and describe them short-method of acquiring good manners, because success of mankind is very difficult without it. He (peace be upon him) observed that the people of his folk have been engaged entirely in corporeal pleasures and they have ignored totally the spiritual side of the human being. Their sense could not inform them, due to being subdued from carnal desires, that only One God (Allaah) should be Worshiped, Who created the heavens and the earth, and Who created the mankind and kept into him ability of knowing the good and the bad. The sense did not cause to understand him that balance among different powers of human being cannot be set up without bowing before One God (Allaah Almighty). If the mankind withdrew from Allaah Almighty, then he would certainly become subject to evil wishes. He would have to bow before every noble and plebeian. He will begin to bow sometime before idols, sometime before great people and sometime before horrible things. And he will get nothing in this matter save confusion.

Noah (peace be upon him) caused to know the people of his folk that they should worship none but Allaah Almighty. There is no one able to be Worshiped save Allaah Almighty. His (peace be upon him) nation had been entangled in selfishness and desires. Great people of the nation said to the public: Don’t listen to Noah (peace be upon him)! According to those great people, the mankind can do nothing save thinking about own benefits. This thought had taken place in their hearts that the mankind can be a selfish only. Therefore, they said: Noah (peace be upon him) says this new thing because he seeks to make himself superior to you. There can be no object of him save it. Do you not see that he is only a mortal like you? We don’t see any excellence into him. You know that the person, who says any new thing, says for own aim. He (peace be upon him) says to us that we should worship only One Allaah, for the purpose that you all should begin to say as he says, so that he (peace be upon him) may become your leader.

It is true that when all people will become wrongdoers, then certainly the hearts of all will be spoiled and the dissatisfaction will spread. The person, who is selfish himself, will never consider unselfish to any other.

Commentary

In the beginning of this Chapter, it was advised to the mankind that they should adopt good habits. Then it was commanded: The mankind can adopted good habits and good attitude at the very time when he will reflect in his creation. He has a body which has been made from the ingredients of clay, which appears in its last human form after passing over through several stages. When the body becomes ready then it is manifested in a new form and the soul enters into it. Life of the human being can be arranged at the very time when balance in its both powers –physical and spiritual; is set up. His manners can be good at the very time when these both powers learn to work together with a special way. Allaah Almighty produced necessities of the body from the earth by causing to rain. He made the cattle, vegetation, herbs and plants useful according to requirement of its body. For spiritual requirements, He sent His Scriptures, Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them). They taught the mankind such observances, from which, he may take work by producing reconciliation among physical and spiritual powers, and acquire happiness of the both worlds.
