(As-Sajdah  –  Bow down)

Commentary

Maa  bayna  ‘ay-diihim  wa  maa  khalfahum – (all that is before them and all that is behind them), this sentence has already passed at various place including ‘Aayatul-Kursii (2:255).

It is commanded: Who can be a Greater Guide and Guardian than Allaah Almighty? Who is, Who help the mankind at the time of afflictions and teach him how to pass a comfortable and peaceful life, after setting him free from every kind of misfortunes? Having hope that someone else instead of Allaah Almighty will be of your use, is ignorance because a Friend and Protector can be only that Person Who; at first; knows well the condition of that person who seeks help, and secondly; He has as much power and authority that He may provide everything at the time of requirement. If you will meditate, you will find that such person does not exist in the entire world. Every individual has limited knowledge, deficient strength and incompetent authority. Only Allaah Almighty is Who has complete knowledge, full power and entire omnipotence. You should know Him carefully and bow before Him wholeheartedly. If some people begin to disobey His commandment, they will hurt themselves. It is the duty of the Believers that they should not prostrate before any other than Allaah Almighty. For such people it is commanded: Bow down and prostrate yourselves before Allaah Almighty, grip up your loins to worship Him only and do good works for His cause. You should never go near evil deeds. The people, who will choose this Way, will succeed in this world as well as on the Day of Resurrection too. And they will dwell peacefully and comfortably at both places.

Great ignorance of the mankind

Chapter Hajj” – (The Pilgrimage) – 22

‘A-‘uu-zu  Billaahi minash-Shay-taanir- Rajiim.

(I seek refuge in Allaah from Satan the outcast)

Bis-Millaahir-Rah-maanir-Rahiim.

(In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

74.  They measure not Allah His rightful measure. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty.

75.  Allah chooseth from the angels Messengers, and (also) from mankind. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Seer.

74.  Maa  qadarUllaaha  haqqa  qadriH.  ‘InnAllaaha  la-Qawiy-yun  ‘Aziiz.

75.  ‘Allaahu  yastafii  minal-malaaa-‘ikati  Rusulanw-wa  minannaas.  ‘InnAllaaha  Samii-‘um  Basiir.

Commentary

Yastafii – (He chooses), this word is from ‘istifaa-‘un, which has come out from saf-wun. Saf-wun means “chosen, approved”. The word safaa’ has also been derived from the same. ‘Istifaa-‘un means “choosing and preferring a thing from many things. Mustafaa is from the same too which means “Chosen”.

It is a great ignorance of the human being that he inclines unto other things; forsaking Allaah Almighty.

By observing some people that they do some such improper acts as “giving different and astonishing shapes to pieces of stone etc. and standing, bowing, prostrating themselves before those statues and asking from them for boons ”, it is conjectured that either these people are totally senseless or if they have some sense then their bestial desires have buried it completely.

It has been caused to understand in this verse that such acts are committed by the mankind because either he did not know his Creator entirely or knew but incomplete. Behold! Allaah Almighty has all powers and those powers are overpowering upon the entire powers of the creatures. If the people will use their sense, they will understand immediately that for the help of their sense, Allaah Almighty appointed His Messengers (peace be upon them); chosen from human beings and angels. And by means of them He sent down His Instructions unto the people, which are perfect in all respect, because Allaah Almighty is Wise, Seer and Aware of all circumstances.
