Commentary
Prophets (peace be upon them) are practical example of life, foundation of which is “turning the attention entirely unto Allaah Almighty, being thankful to Him during prosperity, having patience at the time of adversity and supplicating in His Court for removing the troubles. One of those Prophets was Job (peace be upon them), who beheld both conditions. At first he was in satiated condition. Wealth, children and servants etc. every facility was given to him (peace be upon him). At that time he was thankful to Allaah Almighty and used to obey His all commandments.
Then he (peace be upon him) was examined by afflictions. He suffered from a painful disease and everything was snatched from him. But he showed a rare pattern of patience. After all, he called to his Lord and prayed for deliverance from the disease. Allaah Almighty accepted his supplication, cured him completely, returned him entire household goods, children, servants, wealth and property; which he had lost. And He bestowed him the like thereof in addition to that which had been lost, so that He may show Example of His Mercy and remind the people who worship Him that “We are Present every time to help them; whenever they draw their attention unto Us”.
