Commentary

Those people who see the amazing manufacturing of the world; but do not know Him Who established it; their sense has gone astray and is bondage in a narrow circle. Two windows of that jail i.e. eye and ear open only towards that direction, towards which; there are relishes and lusts of the world. In a corner of that prison, there is a specified door, from which, a path leads to Glacious Spirit. Their sense does not march toward that side, because they have carcans of wishes on their necks, handcuffs of worldly comfort on their hands and fetters of lustful desires on their feet. While it is the condition of their sense in the world, then certainly they will be produced before Allah Almighty as Infidels on the Day of Resurrection. The same carcans, hand-cuffs and fetters (made of iron) will be put on their necks, hands and feet respectively. And then it will be commanded: Drive them unto the Hell in the same condition. Tightened in these hindrances, they will be burnt for ever.

Expounded Revelations of God for those who reflect

Surah YUUNUS – 10 (JONAH)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

24b. till, when the earth hath taken on her ornaments and is embellished, and her people deem that they are masters of her, Our commandment cometh by night or by day and We make it as reaped corn as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We expound the Revelations for people who reflect.

24b. Hattaaa ‘izaaa ‘akha-zatil-‘arzu zukh-rufahaa waz-zayya-nat wa zanna ‘ahluhaaa ‘annahum qaadi-ruuna ‘alay-haaa, ‘ataa-haaa ‘amrunaa lay-lan ‘aw nahaa-ran faja-‘alNaa-haa hasiidan- ka-‘allam tagna bil-‘ams. Kazaa-lika nufassi-lul-‘Aayaati li-qawminy-yata-fakka-ruun.

Lesson

Zukh-rufa – (apparent decoration), this word is used for the glitter of the surface, whether there is a heap of clay in it. This word has passed in Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Part – Wa Law ‘Anna-naa).

‘Az-zayya-nat – (is embellished), it is past tense, which has been derived from the word ziinatun. Ziinat is a famous word of Urdu language which means – dress and decoration.

Hasiidan – (reaped), this word has come out from the word hasaad, which was discussed in Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam and which means “reaped corn”.

Lam tagna – (it had not flourished), origin of this word is “ganii”, which means “to dwell, being settled”.

Greenness and husbandry grew in the land, was prolonged, bud and blossom, reached in full bloom and then it was ready to cut after ripening. Those people who considered themselves masters of the corn were sure that now it was theirs. Suddenly, commandment of Allah Almighty reached, violent wind-storm or whirlwind came, the corn fell in snow or a large army of locusts attacked.

Accordingly, by night or by day, any such disaster came, due to which, the entire field of corn was ruined. Allah Almighty commands: these are Our Ways of causing to understand. We expound the Revelations for them who reflect. Intelligent people understand immediately and these explanations are for them. Reasonable is it that you should know your Creator, One Most High God, Allah Almighty, and live according to His Commandments. Then you will suffer no injury, whether the world remains established or otherwise.

Without mercy of God I may be among the lost

Surah Huud (Hud) – 11

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

47.  He said: my Lord! Lo! In Thee do I seek refuge (from the sin) that I should ask of Thee that whereof I have no knowledge. And unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be among the lost. 47.  Qaala  Rabbi  ‘inniii  ‘a-‘uu-zu-bika  ‘an  ‘as-‘alaka  maa  lay-sa  lii  bihii  ‘ilm.  Wa  ‘illaa  Tag-fir-lii  wa  Tarhamniii  ‘akum-minal-khaa-siriin.

Commentary

‘illaa – (unless), actually these are two words – ‘in and laa. ‘in means “if” and laa means “not”. In writing, both words have been jointed and the “n” is a silent letter.

Allah Almighty teaches Himself manners and principles to His chosen servants, protects and watches them every time specifically and properly, so that they may not be aloof even a little from the Right Path in any religious and moral affair, and they should be a pattern for others. Sometimes, He makes mention of these teachings in Holy Qur’an, so that for always, the wise people learn manners and principles from it according to their extent and they understand it also carefully that the Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) convey the people only those commandments which Allah Almighty teaches them. Therefore, their (peace be upon them) sayings are worthy of practice; just like the commandments of God Almighty.

In the previous verse, Allah Almighty caused to understand them that every matter is not capable that about it; either someone should ask of Him or pray for its provision. Way of praying and asking for any thing from Allah Almighty is the same as He has taught Himself.

In this verse, for whatsoever Noah (peace be upon him) applied, that is entirely in accordance with this instruction. He (peace be upon him) requested: O my Lord! Save me from it (the sin) that I should ask of You that which is against Your will or pray for such thing which You have not taught me. If You will not forgive me and have not mercy on me then I shall suffer a loss and be among the losers.

Commentary

In this verse, it has been caused to draw attention of the human being unto reproduction after death. It is commanded: O Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him)! If you wonder on their denial of the life after death, then truly; it is a wondrous thing, because it is not difficult for Him to reproduce, Who (Omnipotent) produced the mankind first time. New things are produced every time from the dust, then those are damaged. After that, Allah Almighty reproduces them again with His Divine Power.

Idolaters of Makkah used to pretend always in a new way for disbelieving the Messenger-hood of Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him). Their main evasion was that: You teach us that the mankind will be reproduced after death, but the sense does not accept it. Such objection of theirs has been mentioned in this verse that: They say! Can we then forsooth be reproduced as a renewed creation; when we have been dust?

They are being replied in these words: After thinking about the wonders of the earth and the heavens and beholding that in the earth, countless things are produced and ruined by the Omnipotence of Allah Almighty and then, again those are reproduced in the same form and shape, in which those were earlier. So it is very wondrous to have doubt in reproduction of the human beings.
