Guidance in Verses of Quran and Sayings of Messenger

Surah Younus (Jonah) (peace be upon him)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Commentary

God Almighty be praised that lessons from Surah (Chapter) Younus (Jonah – peace be upon him) were completed on previous lesson. It was described in the Chapter that Holy Qur’aan is a strong and firm Book in all respect. Neither Its words can be changed and nor any other book can be revealed for canceling its Commandments. Whatever exists in it; is 100% right and correct.

Then; it was commanded: what is surprising in it if Allah Almighty has appointed a Man from them for the guidance of all human beings? Coming of the Messenger (peace be upon Him) is necessary because there are many people in the world who mislead others and it is very difficult to find the Straight Path without Guidance.

By sending His Messengers (peace be upon Them), Allah Almighty explained about the Straight Path and He commanded to His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Cause to hear the good news to the good people that they are eminent in the Court of Allah Almighty, and frighten the evildoers that their end is not good. They should abstain from wicked deeds and choose to do good deeds. If they will do so then they will gain their end.

After that, it was caused to understand that this entire world and whatsoever exists in it, has been created by Allah Almighty with His Divine Power. Think carefully on its wonderful arrangement and curiosities, and know the Creator (Allah Almighty) from them. You have been populated here temporarily; and your actual life will start after death. Only those people will find rest and comfort of that life; who will obey the commands of Allah Almighty after knowing Him in this life.

In the entire Chapter, it has been urged that you should know Allah Almighty and worship Him only; otherwise you would have to repent after death. There, you will be asked only about your belief. If you would have believed in Allah Almighty during worldly life; and would not have ascribed plurality to Him, and you obeyed His commands, then you will get freedom from His anger, otherwise you will be punished very severely.

Contrary to it, if you are desirous to guess about comfort and pleasure of those who believed in Allah Almighty in the world and followed His Revelations, conjecture from it that they will be provided well-built houses, decorated with green trees loaded with fruits underneath which; the rivers flow. Their all wishes will be fulfilled immediately.

Such matters have been manifested by narrating the circumstances of ancient nations and it has been explained that Peace of the Hereafter is fixed for those who believed and did good works. In the world also, those people will be saved from disasters and misfortunes; who will pass their lives according to the Instructions (Quran) of Allah Almighty and Sayings (Hadith) of His last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

Surah Younus (Jonah) (peace be upon him)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

109.  And (O Muhammad) follow that which is inspired in thee, and forbear until Allah give judgment. And He is the Best of Judges. 109.  Wattabi’  maa  yuu-haaa  ‘ilay-ka  was-bir  hattaa  yahku-mAllaah.  Wa  Huwa  Khay-rul-Haa-kimiin.

Commentary

Before this, it was commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that after causing to know the Revelations of Holy Qur’aan, he should say to the people: Whatsoever I have been causing to hear you, it is such clear Truth which has been sent for you from your Lord.

He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) explained the entire Revelations before the people, but their unintelligence and perversity did not let them understand the actual matter. From it; He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) was grieved. He was sorrowful due to their obstinacy, but it is possible that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would have thought: Whether would have I not fallen short in causing to know them? May be that such opposite behavior of theirs is for the reason that I could not produce the Truth before them as it required. For the mankind, this thought is very painful if the perception of so much shortness and incorrectness is born in his heart and he begin to think: The work which is not running; I am liable to come upon this blame. At such occasion, encouragement by a Superior Officer is of use. In this verse, Allah Almighty makes His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) content that: You have performed your duty. Now if they do not understand, let them do what they wish.

It is commanded: You should not be sorrowful that why do they not understand. Your duty is only to follow that which is inspired in you and obey the commands which are revealed. Continue explaining the Holy Qur’aan before the people by your words and deeds. Those who obey you, are fortunate, and those who do not attend to you but arm against you with their words and deeds, who begin to trouble and hurt you, for it; you should forbear and instruct your companions also to be patient; and wait for the Judgment of Allah Almighty. He has complete knowledge of their movements.

Authority of accepting or rejecting the Truth

Quran Chapter 10-108b (Pt-11, Stg-3) (L-1341) – درس قرآن

Authority of accepting or rejecting the Truth

Surah Younus (Jonah) (peace be upon him)

BisMillaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

108b.  And whosoever erreth, erreth only against it. And I am not a warder over you. 108b.  Wa  man  zalla  fa-‘inna-maa  ya-zillu  ‘alay-haa.  Wa  maaa  ‘annaa  ‘alay-kum-  bi-wakiil.

Commentary

It is commanded that if, after coming so much clear Revelations, still any person does not accept the Truth, but acts according to own will, then he has been wandering astray. Result of losing his way will be that on the Day of Resurrection, he will be in severe hurt.

After that, Allah Almighty commands to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) that he should say to the people! Your Lord sent His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon them) and Scriptures for their guidance, gave them sense and understanding, by which; they can know that “which path is correct for them; and what is the Truth in worldly mixed up and disordered matters”? “I am God’s last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and have brought unto you His last Word for reciting before you and causing to understand you. But like other Messengers (peace be upon them), my work is also the same that I should cause to know you only. I have not been appointed as a powerful over the people for compelling them to accept the Truth, and put them on the straight path with force; who go astray.

Sufficient signs of the Straight Path have been disclosed after giving the mankind sense and option in the world. He has been informed about the consequences of good and evil deeds. Duty of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is that he should explain these matters by causing to know the entire people well. Authority of accepting or rejecting the Truth is held with every individual. Whoso will accept; will reap advantage and do good for oneself. But whoso will reject, will be hurt and he will know very soon that he has sown thorns in favor of himself, and he will get nothing from them save distress and pain.

Verily, due of causing to understand the human being has been rendered in the verses of Holy Qur’aan. However, the Muslims are certainly liable to come upon the blame that they did not produce Islam in its original form before the world.
