80.  Fa-lammaa  jaaa-‘assa-ha-ratu  qaala  lahum-Muusaaa  ‘al-quu  maaa  ‘antum-mulquun.

Commentary

It is commanded that Pharaoh said to the both Prophets (Moses and Aaron – peace be upon them) that they were greedy of realm and wealth, and menaced them that he would not let them succeed. He said: I am king of this country and behold! I scheme to trouble you.

Pharaoh had already said that the both Prophets (peace be upon them) were magicians, so he said to his courtiers that there were many wizards in their country. They should bring chosen from them master wizards before Pharaoh. He said: I want to see these both wizards, who have been producing themselves in a new form, what do they do?

Complete detail of competition against the wizards has passed in Suratul-‘A’-raaf (Chapter -7). Here, the intention has been drawn unto such point only that greedy people of the world consider that others are also like them and oppose them, whereas they should think: May be that other people do not have any personal interest, and whatever they say, may be that is for our advantage. But the people entangled in the world can not be of such exalted position. They have the mind of only own office and greatness, and get ready to ruin every movement of other; considering it his selfishness.

Therefore, it has been described here that; the wizards were searched and called according to the order of Pharaoh, who stood before Moses (peace be upon him) for competition. Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) said to them: Bring forth whatever you wish to cast.

Act of setting to right is not considered good

Surah YUUNUS – 10 (JONAH)

 BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

78.  They said: hast thou come unto us to prevent us from that (faith) in which we found our fathers, and that you two may own the place of greatness in the land? We will not believe in you two. 78.  Qaaluuu  ‘aji’-tanaa  lital-fitanaa  ‘ammaa  wajad-naa  ‘alay-hi  ‘aabaaa-‘anaa  wa  ta-kuuna  lakumal-kibri-yaaa-‘u  fil-‘arz.  Wa  maa  nahnu  lakumaa  bi-‘Mu’-miniin.

Commentary

Greedy person wants to keep useful things in his possession. It is obvious that the root of this desire is his selfishness. But when some people succeed in this matter and this succession sets out for some period, then such plea of standing firm on it comes into their hands. They say: It is our ancient tradition, has been coming with effect from our fathers. None can compel us to leave it.

Like this, some other people succeed also opposite to them and they fix their arena separately from them, and these both groups begin to fight against each other and oppose them in all matters. The old group says to the new one: You are quarrelsome. You want to become grandeur and take possession of land by causing to leave our old traditions from us. We shall not let you succeed. It is the correct way of life which our ancestors have established. From the answer of Pharaoh’s folk; a very destructive fault of the mankind has been disclosed. Therefore, Holy Qur’aan has saved it for ever, so that the people should take warning from it.

It is commanded that Pharaoh and his companions said: Probably, you both want to establish your empire by defeating us. You desire to remove our so much old way of dwelling which has been running from generation to generation, and wish to be influential. We will never believe in you and let you succeed.

This diffidence of the human being is foundation of all calamities in the world. Any person’s any act of setting to right is not considered good by diffident people but it is taken that he wants to go ahead by pushing others away. Because one is greedy and selfish so he considers that entire people are like him, and he tries his best to prevent others from rising.
