Lesson # 967 from the Noble Quran

Our Lord is Hearer and Knower of everything

199.  Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant.

200.  And if a slander from the devil afflict thee, then seek refuge in Allah. Lo! He is Hearer, Knower.

199.  Khuzil-‘afwa  wa’-mur  bil-‘urfi  wa  ‘a’-riz  ‘anil-jaahiliin.

200.  Wa  ‘immaa  yanzagannaka  minash-Shay-taani  nazgun-  fasta-‘iz  BIllaah.  ‘InnaHuu  Samii-‘un  ‘Aliim.

Lesson

‘Afwun – (forgiveness), we have discussed about this word in Surah Baqarah. It has many meanings, one of which is “endurance, patience”. Here it aims the same.

Yanzagannaka – {if someone (afflict you)}, the origin of this word is nazgun, which exists in the same verse after it. Nazgun means “to tamper with any tipped object, to stab any pointed thing”. Here it aims “devilish whim”.

It was described in the previous verses that some people are believers of Allah Almighty; even then they ascribe plurality to God Almighty in the birth of a child after its birth. Even that they name him like idolaters as Abdul Harith etc. Therefore, the human being has been informed about the evils of polytheism. It is true but speaking the truth before any mankind is just like involving oneself in quarrel with him. So, flaming by the idolaters was not a grand thing. Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) described them openly in a previous verse: Call upon your so-called partners (of God Almighty), then contrive against Me, spare Me not. They can never hurt Me because My Protecting Friend is Allah Almighty.

Being Protecting Friend, Allah Almighty guides His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) in this verse about the behavior which must be adopted in future.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! Keep to forgiveness, enjoin kindness and turn away from the ignorant. Speak the truth and carry on laying stress on the people to perform the works; good for the humanity. You should not respond to the opponents if they begin to treat You with rudeness and ignorance. You must tolerate the grief/pain which they tease.

If any time, Satan excites You that the people have been disgracing You. So, You should respond with abuse to their abuse and kick them if they give you a blow.

You should seek refuge in Allah Almighty immediately if; due to natural tendencies of humankind, you have any fear of affect of this whim, because He is Hearer and Knower. Do not respond their abusive conduct. Mind Your own business.

It is as much big useful advice that grandest social and political problems of the life can be solved with it. Whenever anyone gets chance; should enjoin for good works and speak the truth. Respond with patience and tolerance to the enemies when they provoke, and do not provide opportunity of dispute from own side. A Day of final Judgment will come and the Support of God Almighty will be with the Patient, if disbelievers do not accept it.

Lesson

As much power of Belief and Satisfaction has been filled in these verses; that; it is difficult for the sense of humankind to judge. Therefore, it can be disclosed in the same words that “This power is beyond the measurement and save the Heart of God’s last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him); the heart of any other person cannot be owner of this power.

It was described in the previous verses that their idols, to which they have chosen their worshippd, have no power. It is commanded in these verses that the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) should say: My Protecting Friend and Supporter is One – Allah Almighty, Who revealed the Scripture, He is able to see, hear and hold everything. He is not like your idols who can neither see, nor hear and nor hold anything. He issues His commands for His servants and is a Redresser of their grievances because He is close to them every time. He gives punishment to the disobedient people. And with His kindness, He makes easy entire works of all of them who are sensible, take His Support, neither they beg from any other and nor have any hope of help from anyone else. I have searched the means of His Protection too; leaving all others. He will guard and help Me. You or your worthless gods cannot hurt Me. Your calling them; apart from Allah Almighty, is useless. They cannot help you even a little. How can they help you whereas they do not own any sense? If anyone wants, he can break them at the spot. They can do nothing to save themselves. They will not hear you if you request or beg before them. You consider that they have been looking; but their lifeless eyes cannot see anything because those are like a sign; made by your own hands.

Have they feet wherewith they walk, or have they hands wherewith they hold, or have they eyes wherewith they see, or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say: Call upon your (so-called) partners (of Allah), then contrive against me, spare me not!                 ‘A-lahum  ‘arjuluny-yamshuuna  bihaaa  ‘am  lahum  ‘aydiny-yab-tishuuna  bihaaa  ‘am  lahum  ‘a’-yununy-yub-siruuna  bihaaa  ‘am  lahum  ‘aazaanuny-yasma-‘uuna  buhaa.  Qulid-‘uu  shurakaaa-‘akum  summa  kiiduuni  falaa  tun-ziruun.

Lesson

Kiiduuni – actually, this word is kiiduunii. Kiiduu is a word of command. Kayd means – to get an opportunity or chance. Kiiduu means “contrive (against)” and nii means “me”.

Tun-ziruun – this word is actually tunziruunii. Tunziruu is word of command from the word ‘anzaar. ‘Anzaar has been derived from nazar, which means “to delay, to postpone”. Nii means “to me”.

In this verse, there is a mention about helplessness of the idols. It is astonishing on the idolaters that they create themselves the shapes of idols on the models of living creatures, even that they make their hands, feet, eyes and ears etc. everything. But, whether can they take work from their artificial limbs like living creatures? If they think, those idols are more incapable than their makers. The makers can use their limbs as they wish but the idols can do nothing.

It is commanded: Ask from them! These idols which you made with your own hands, accepted that; you have made their hands, feet, eyes and ears too, but, can they use them like your original limbs? Can they walk with their feet? Can they hold with their hands? Can they see with their eyes? Can they hear with their ears? Regret at your wit and being more proud on it that; you frighten Me (Messenger of Allah Almighty – grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) from them, as if, they can damage Me notwithstanding; those are helpless openly. It is your own will that you have been entangled in deception. Moreover, Allah Almighty has opened My obvious and hidden eyes. I see clearly that these, your idols can never harm Me. I say to you openly: Call all of them and leave no stone unturned in my persecuting and spare Me not. Then behold! What can they do of Mine? The people of weak belief cannot challenge openly as such. On them, the effect of environment; created around the idols; is so deep that they begin to fear, that something unknown may happen any time. They are as much influenced by conjectural and imaginary things that their ability of understanding becomes useless totally.

193.  Wa  ‘in-tad-‘uuhum  ‘ilalhudaa  laa  yattabi-‘uu-kum.  Sawaaa-‘un  ‘alaykum  ‘ada-‘awtumuu-hum  ‘am  ‘an-tum  saamituun.

Lesson

Those people who ascribe plurality to God Almighty, do neither meditate and nor think. They make them associates with Allah Almighty which have life, as well as, sometimes they begin to consider the lifeless idols as partners and share-holders of Him too. Such people are more culpable.

They have been admonished in this verse. It is commanded: These, which you consider; the inanimate things and the idols; invented by your own hands; that they are “suppliers of your wants”, they are as much unable that they cannot hear your voice, although; you make their eyes, ears and nose etc., but while they have not ability to see and hear, then what is advantage of their invention? Whether you call them or be quiet; without any kind of difference, both conditions are the same for you.

After that, a common rule has been described in which, all things like those having life, lifeless, idols, pictures and statues etc. have been included. God Almighty commands: Every that thing to which you will call save Allah Almighty; will be a creature and for this reason; that will be obedient to its creator. Every kind of creature is powerless and incapable before God Almighty like you. Moreover, some things are more helpless than you. Choosing them as own worshiped and having faith that they can give or snatch anything, is extremely ignorance. Call them and look; if you are true in considering them proficient. Now; if they have really any power, they should help you after hearing your call and come immediately for redress of your grievance, whereas, there is “No reply” from their side.

Once, the human being had been over taken by misunderstanding as much that he considered that everything is in the power of idols like trouble, ease, putting in calamity, relieving and producing foods etc. Ancient nations threatened the Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) of their times verily that if They would not give up preaching; then these idols would involve them in any big difficulty. Even that the idolaters of Makkah threatened Muhammad, the last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) from the wrath of idols. Moreover, even till today, such ignorant people exist who fear idols and consider that they give everything.

192.   Wa  laa  yastatii-‘uuna  lahum  nasranw-wa  laaa  ‘anfusahum  yansuruun.

Lesson

Allah Almighty has created some particular things in the world; only for the purpose that those teach the human beings; the way of knowing their Lord. These things are “The Scriptures of God Almighty and His Messengers (peace be upon Them)”, but usually; there are such tokens for considering thoughtfully in all those things; which belong to the humankind and from which he can know his Lord by using his sense.

Meaning of knowing The Lord correctly is that one should believe in His (God’s) Oneness and that He is Single in His Attributes, and that there is no partner, co-sharer or associate of Him. In these verses, the attention of the human being has been drawn towards his (human’s) birth that in it also; the way of Knowing the Creator and declining from His association with any other is visible clearly. There were four forms of creating the mankind:

  • The creation without father and mother –as Adam (peace be upon Him).

  • The birth without mother – as Eve (wife of Adam – peace be upon Them).

  • Producing a mankind without father – as Jesus (peace be upon Him).

  • Producing by means of sexual intercourse of man with a woman – as all common people.

Examples of three forms (of the creation of human being) were shown in the world, but it was caused to understand particularly about the fourth form. In it, the mankind has no control or power of creation into himself during the stages of copulation and afterwards i.e. woman bears a light burden, which becomes heavy with the passage of time. The human beings look with hope unto Allah Almighty that the child should be aright, healthy and vigorous. But when the child is born, then they forget Allah Almighty and accept the influence of others in the birth of child.

Allah Almighty commands: We did everything. When the work is done, you began to say: it was done by someone else. How much is it unfair? Punishment for this fault is distressed by the mankind himself. He should think: Whether those things can create even any little thing; which are made by the human being himself? Whether those should be ascribed as equal to the Power of God Almighty? Those cannot help anyone even a little contrary to creation of anything and nor those can help themselves.

He it is Who did create you from a single soul, and therefrom did make his mate that he might take rest in her. Then when he covered her, she bore a light burden, and she passed (unnoticed) with it, but when it became heavy they cried unto Allah, their Lord, saying: If Thou givest unto us aright we shall be of the thankful.                  Huwallazii  khalaqakum-min-nafsinw-waahidatinw-wa  ja-‘ala  minhaa  zaw-jahaa  liyaskuna  ‘ilayhaa.  Falammaa  tagash-shaahaa  hamalat  hamlan  khafii-fan-  famarrat  bih.  Falammaaa  ‘as-qalad-da-‘a-wAllaaha  Rabbahumaa  la-‘in  ‘aatay-taNaa  saalihal-lanakuu-nanna  minash-Shaakiriin.

Lesson

Nafsin – (a soul), this word has been passed in the first verse of Surah NISAAA’ (Chapter – 4). Entire human beings are children of one Father, whose name is “Adam” (peace be upon Him). From Him Allah Almighty created His wife named Eve (peace be upon Her).

Tagash-shaa – (covered), it is a past tense and the origin of this word is tagshii which has been derived from gash-yun. Gash-yun means “to cover from above, to spread over, to conceal”. Here; it aims “The act of sexual intercourse by man with his woman”.

There is a description regarding creation of human being in this verse. Allah Almighty created the first mankind “Adam” (peace be upon Him) by His Omnipotence. Then, for his rest and comfort, He made his mate (woman named Eve) from him (peace be upon Them). After that, He arranged to originate the lineage of their children be means of the meeting of men and women together.

It is commanded: We created the entire humankind from a single soul (Adam – peace be upon Him), and from his body, We made his wife (Eve – peace be upon her) so that; he might live accompanying her with rest and peace. Then, birth and lineage of their children began. At first, man meets to his woman to fulfill his natural sensual desire. In the beginning, the woman bears a light burden in her womb and continues her works as usual like sitting, standing, walking and other routine works.

When some period is passed with that burden, the weight of her belly increases, then they express their wishes before God Almighty: Our Lord! Give unto us aright, healthy and conducive child, we shall be very thankful to You.

Say: For myself I have no power to benefit, nor power to hurt, save that which Allah willeth. And had I knowledge of the Unseen, I should have abundance of wealth, and adversity would not touch me. I am but a warner, and a bearer of good tidings unto folk who believe.                 Qul-laaa  ‘amliku  li-nafsii  naf-’anw-wa  laa  zarran  ‘illaa  maa  shaaa-‘Allaah.  Wa  law  kuntu-  ‘a’-lamul-gayba  lastak-sartu  minal-khayri  wa  maa  massani-yas-suuu’.  ‘In  ‘anaa  ‘illaa  naziirunw-wa  bashiirulli-qawminy-yu’-minuun.

Lesson

The human being remains in search of worldly profit every time. He wants to know before doing every work: Whether this work will be consequently profitable or hurtful? When Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) began to describe the people: After death, actions of every individual will be examined and those people who committed sin, will be punished properly, then the people considered from it that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been explaining about the future, so they should ask from Him: What should we purchase now which may be expensive in future. Those of them who were of higher thought, they began to ask about the destined Hour. The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been taught the answer to their questions in this verse, in which the grace of Prophet-hood has been manifested entirely and it has been described that: “Telling you about – profit or loss in your business OR correct time of any happening” is not the duty of any Prophet (peace be upon Him). His only duty is to warn those who disbelieve and cause to hear the good tidings unto the folk who believe.

It is commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that He should say to them who question: While I have no power and knowledge regarding my own profit or loss, good or bad, then; what shall I tell you about your profit or loss? Whenever Allah Almighty wishes, He informs Me timely about good or bad and loss or profit of anything. Had I knowledge of the future, I should have reaped abundance of advantages, and misfortune would not come close to Me. Neither would I regret ever and nor receive any kind of hurt. And you know that the happiness reaches Me as well as the grief. I feel pain like you and comfort too. However, I have been given this duty that I should warn and frighten you from such deeds, result of which will be not good for you after death. And those of you who will embrace Islam, I should give them good tidings that their end will be good.

Allah Almighty has bestowed very more science and knowledge to the last Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) than every human being, but that is maximum regarding welfare of the Hereafter. About this world, Allah Almighty commands to Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Say to the people! The knowledge which I have, is not My personal; but given by Allah Almighty. I do not want to say anything to you from Me side. I shall describe you only that about which God Almighty will command Me. Other than that, I know nothing.

Lesson # 960 from the Noble Quran

Advisability in keeping the last moment secret

Surah ‘A’-RAAF (The Heights) – Chapter – 7)

 Stage – 2, Verse – 187 of 206, Section – 23 of 24 (Part  – 9)

3DIntro02

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful

They ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to pass? Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He Alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. They question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not.              Yas-‘aluunaka  ‘anis-Saa-‘ati  ‘ayyaana  mur-saahaa.  Qul  ‘innamaa  ‘ilmu-haa  ‘inda  Rabbii.  Laa  yu-jalliihaa  li-waq-tihaaa  ‘illaa  Huu.  Saqulat  fis-samaawaati  wal-‘arz.

Lesson

‘As-Saa-‘atu – (a very little part of the time, which is called “a Moment”). Here; it aims “the Time of general Resurrection”, when accounts of every human being will be taken.

Mur-saa – (destined, settlement, to be set up, taking place), this word has been derived from ‘arsaaa’, which means “to settle, to fix on”. And this word has been taken from raswun, which means “to stop, to stay, to remain and to last”. Mursaa and ‘arsaaa’ have the same meanings. Here; it aims “coming of the destined Hour to pass, the Time and the Day of Resurrection”.

Ha-fiyyun – (to be well informed, going to Endeavor), origin of this word is hafyun, which means “to turn the attention (to)”. Here it aims “one is going to seek about”.

The people were desirous to know about the destined Hour (the Time of Resurrection) that; when will it come to pass? It has been described about it already in the earlier Scriptures. Holy Qur’an caused to draw more attention upon it. The last Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) caused to hear by reciting the Holy Qur’an to the people. The people considered that He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has reflected thoughtfully in this matter. Therefore, they asked from Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Tell us! When the destined Hour will come to pass? They have been replied in this verse.

It is commanded that; coming of the Destined Hour (General Resurrection) to pass has been kept hidden.  Nobody knows about it save Allah Almighty. It is sufficient to say for correction of the people that it is sure that the Time and the Day of Resurrection shall come to pass. Moreover, there is a policy in keeping the destined Hour secret, which is; the people should remain frightened from It every time. When that Hour will come; Allah Almighty will show It to the entire people openly. It will be the heaviest accident among the heavens and the earth. No creature is able to bear Its knowledge. If the Time of Its happening is known by any creature, it will become difficult for them to perform their works. Whenever that Time will come, it will come suddenly and in the condition of unawares. The Messengers (peace be upon Them) do not try to know such matters, which are not described to Them by Allah Almighty Himself. Complete knowledge about it is with God Almighty only. Maximum people do not know that: What is the advisability in keeping that Hour secret?

Those whom Allah sendeth astray, there is no guide for them. And He leaveth them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.             Many-yuzli-LIllaahu  falaa  haa-diya  lah.  Wa  yazaruhum  fii  tug-yaanihim  ya’-mahuun.

Lesson

It was stated previously that there are many things in the world for them who think, from which they can get correct results by means of correct meditation. They can know that one should engage his attention unto the charming things of the world only as much that his heart should not be averse from useful things. Moreover, actual attention should remain unto them, because comfort and ease, tastes and relishes of the world are temporary only. Wealth and property, honor and dignity etc. are the things of coming and going – some- time those are with me and sometimes with you. The mind should be engaged in those things which will stay with the mankind all the time and should be base of everlasting joy. What are these things? These things cannot be attained by the human being from anywhere else. These can be learned only from the Messengers (peace be upon Them). Their provisions are held in the Scriptures of God Almighty. If really, the humankind is in search of perpetual peace, endless ease, satisfaction and pleasure, he should bear the Sayings (Commands) of God’s last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) in his mind. He should begin reciting the Holy Qur’an with full commitment and determination, and obey Its all Commands unhesitatingly. Alas! There are innumerable people who call everyone towards the world but only some individuals are who invite unto the Holy Qur’an. Producers of worldly things have goods; ready to give with immediate profit, whereas, those who call to arrange the Hereafter, have mere promises, only warnings and hope of future advantage. The law of the people of the world is “A bird in hand is worth two in the bush”, whereas; behavior of the believers is “worshiping God continuously with patience and being hopeful of Allah’s Bounty. They sacrifice existing benefits in search of His Willingness; and give everything in His Way, whichever they possess. Can anybody think that someone will incline unto Allah Almighty in such difficulty? Really; it is very difficult.

It has been commanded in this verse that changing the heart from worldly casual benefits and inclining towards the benefits of the Hereafter is not in the power of any human being. It can be done by Allah Almighty only. If He lets someone entangled in the world and does not guide unto the Straight Path, then there is no such individual who has power to guide him.

From this verse, an Established and Prescribed Order of God Almighty is known about this matter that “Many Signs and Tokens have been produced before every individual in the world besides the Messengers (peace be upon Them) and the Scripture of God Almighty. None has been forced. If any individual wants to remain entangled in the worldly deceptions and is unable to see above it, Allah Almighty will leave him as he wishes, and he will be wandering blindly in his contumacy, and at last; he will die. His wealth, power, dignity, force, pomp and show even that; nothing will be helpful to save him.

Here; it is easy to say that the Hereafter is nothing. Reward and punishment, the Heaven and the Hell – all are self-made talks, but if these are proved true, then which is the abode of those people who deny and ignore? Allah Almighty save us on the Day of Resurrection from this affliction and repentance; and guide us in the world.

Lesson

It was described earlier that; becoming a mankind depends on the mankind that he should know his Lord and pass his life according to His Commands, and it was explained also that which thing prevents from knowing Lord, that is greed of worldly things. Desires of the human being sulk like children that those should be fulfilled. Whereas, his Lord commands: Be cautious! You should not be entangled in the net of wishes. We have imposed some restrictions on their fulfilling in the world and determined some limitations. You can fulfill your desires remaining in those limitations, how much you can. You should not cross the line.

It is too much difficult that the human being tries every time to run away. He looks his death in restrictions and considers that “The life is the name of: Eating, drinking bellyful and enjoying only”. He produces sources for it and gathers wealth. If he cannot do so then snatches and robs from others. Who has the time in these disputes that he would have to be busy in search of Lord? Then, Messengers (peace be upon Them) are sent for explaining about these matters. They bring the Scriptures of God Almighty along with Them, recite before the people and cause to understand them. They act upon the Revelations and teach the people by means of their own acts. If They are obeyed and followed, it becomes easy to know God Almighty and obey His Commands. The Messenger (peace be upon Him) gets them released from the circle of wishes and teaches them the ways of fulfilling like human beings. He (peace be upon Him) says: It is not suitable for him to continue eating, drinking and fulfilling sensual deeds every time like animals; according to the dignity of the mankind. Allah Almighty has determined the ways of his improvement. It is his duty to follow His instructions.

The Messengers (peace be upon Them) came in this world to give the Word of God Almighty to the human beings. Even that the lineage of Messengers (peace be upon Them) came to an end at the last Messenger; Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and He delivered the last Scripture of Allah Almighty i.e. Holy Qur’an to the human beings for their guidance. In this Word, summary of all those matters exist which were conveyed by previous all Messengers (peace be upon Them) during their periods to the people of those times.

Neither any Messenger will come after Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and nor any Scripture will be revealed after Holy Qur’an. Therefore, if the mankind wants to become really a mankind, it is incumbent to obey the Revelations of This holy Word. And if he wants to follow his unbridled sensual wishes; like animals and is desirous to pass his life in the sources of their fulfilling, then he has choice. We don’t bind him.

The Scripture of God Almighty desires to ask from him (mankind) the same that if he does not believe in this Revelation; then what is other thing to which will he accept? If he believes then he should understand that the punishments which have this Scripture explained for those who have been entangled in the world, if he is punished according to them, then he cannot accuse any other save cursing himself. Then he will have to suffer that what will fall to his lot.

The biggest weakness of the human being is his sensual wishes. And he wants to fulfill them immediately. Allah Almighty does not prevent from fulfilling those wishes. However, He teaches the way of their fulfilling in which he can reap advantage at full scale but that is not harmful. Moreover, some labor is must for it as – bearing the expenses of wife after wedding, with which such pleasure of own home and children is obtained, which does not exist in evil-living.
