Know: Who is good in morality and humanity?

Lesson # 720 From Holy Qur’aan

Know: Who is good in morality and humanity?

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage – 2

Verse – 53 of 165, Section – 6 of 20 (Part – 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And even so do We try some of them by others, that they say: Are these they whom Allaah has favoured among us? Is not Allaah Best Aware of the thanks-givers? Lesson

It has been told earlier that the people of Makkah were inordinate in the intoxication of wealth and property. They used to disregard everyone. Islam considers these kinds of boasting and pride as useless. Entire human beings are equal in Islam. It teaches that all the humankind should live like brothers of one another mutually having equal rights, but it was against the rules and customs of the people of Makkah.

Therefore, they denied sitting socially along with the poor and lower class people, whenever they used to come unto the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). He (peace be upon Him) took a thought: If these haughty people embraced Islam, it will affect entire Arab and all the people will embrace Islam.

So the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) wished to prevent the poor and lower class people sitting every time in His company, only for the purpose that the rich and honorable people may come unhesitatingly unto Muhammad and listen to His Sayings (peace be upon Him), and perhaps the way for Islam may be opened.

It was forbidden in the previous verse and the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) was commanded: Islamic Morality cannot permit it that the proud and haughty people are welcomed, while the poor and lower class people, who are fond of hearing the teachings of Islam and act upon them, are prevented from coming unto You (peace be upon Him) and disheartened.

It has been described in this verse: We have kept difference among their ranks, made some of them rich and some poor for causing to know them all a big Truth, and explain that: It is not necessary that a man becomes a complete mankind after achieving higher rank, wealth or property, whereas at the other side, meaning of being a poor is that he is totally like dead and gone in Allaah’s view, morally he can never be a good person (Heaven preserve us).

Virtue, Superiority and nobility depend on the heart’s cleanliness and ethics. By being a rich person of anyone, it is not incumbent that he is also good in morality and humanity. The door of becoming a virtuous is not closed due to being a poor. This aim has been mentioned very clearly in this verse.

It is commanded: As you observe that some people are rich and some poor, it is only a method of mankind’s test. Being a wealthy person is not sign of acceptability in the Court of Allaah Almighty. He can favor the poor also by bestowing to him purity and faithfulness. Even that the rich people can be surprised observing them: Whether Allaah Almighty can exalt these poor, unreal, weak and helpless people leaving us?

They should understand that Allaah Almighty knows more than you to those people who are well-mannered in His Gratefulness. Therefore, He sends down His Gifts and Honors upon them, so that you may get freedom from this misapprehension and vain imagination that the wealth and superiority is the best thing.

Lesson # 719 From Holy Qur’aan

Don’t keep dealing connection with the haughty people

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage – 2

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

The impostures of the people of Makkah were described in the previous verses and it was known also that the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) desired, “Somehow the esteemed and rich people of here should listen to Me (Muhammad)”. He would have also thought: Would that I could show them those portents, which they demand, then perhaps they might believe.

To remove that conception, Allaah Almighty commanded: If You can, seek a way down into the earth or a ladder unto the sky so that You may bring unto them a portent (to convince them all), even then they will not believe because they desire some other thing. And Suppose! If they believed after observing any strong portent, then such belief will not be acceptable to Us (Allaah Almighty).

Allaah Almighty Says: We desire! They should believe by thinking themselves and observing Our present portents, which We have already sent down in the world. But their ears, eyes and tongues (all) are closed from these portents. Neither they will see those portents, nor they will hear any Guide and nor they will ask from Someone themselves.

Therefore, it has been commanded to the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Give up thinking about them. Your only Duty was to convey Our Message, which You have performed. If they do not hear, let them go. Now You should warn them who are ready to hear.

These were those poor people who embraced Islam, believed in the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and had become ready to obey the commands of Holy Qur’aan; for instance Bilal, Amaar bin Yasir and Saalim (May Allaah be pleased with them) etc. Honorable people had this pretense that they used to say the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): We cannot sit along with these poor people.

The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) had prepared to prevent those poor people from meeting every time, so that objection of the proud people may remain no more and perhaps they would come, hear and believe. He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been forbidden by Allaah Almighty in this verse from doing so.

Allaah Almighty commands: Never repel those people from siting with You (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), who call upon their Lord at morning and evening, try to seek Allaah’s Countenance. You don’t know the condition of anyone’s heart that whether the poor people are well or these haughty people will be good after believing, because anyone cannot be responsible of any other’s secrets. So you should treat the people according to their apparent condition. You should cause to hear those people, who listen and believe. But don’t keep dealing connection with those who remain in own haughtiness. Neither You are accountable for them in aught, nor are they accountable for You in aught.

Quran – Guidance unto Those Who ward off evil

Lesson # 718 From Holy Qur’aan

Quran – Guidance unto Those Who ward off evil

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage – 2

Verse – 51 of 165, Section – 6 of 20 (Part – 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Lesson

It was delineated in the previous verses that, which doubt these people have in the Messenger-hood, is not for the reason that they are in search of the Truth, but they feel their work as spoiled, if they believed in the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). They demand miracles for believing and hurt the Messenger of Allaah Almighty with their likewise behavior.

There is no hope of their coming towards the Straight Path. If they had any intention to understand the Truth, certainly they would have known by taking a little thought that the Messenger and Prophet (peace be upon Him) is a Mankind. He never claims that He possesses the treasures of Allaah Almighty, nor that He has knowledge of the Unseen; and nor that He (peace be upon Him) is an Angel. He is a Man from the Mankind, Who has extremely superior beauties and Who is guided through Divine inspiration and He (peace be upon Him) acts according to the Revelations, and invites the people to act upon Them.

Allaah Almighty addresses His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Let them now as they are, while they do not understand after causing to know them entire these things. And cause to hear and understand the Holy Qur’aan to those people who are ready to reap advantage from It.

Allaah Almighty commands that those people who fear that they will be gathered and set before their Lord Almighty on a Day (the Day of Resurrection), there will be no protecting ally, nor any intercessor for them at that time, each one will be for oneself, everyone will be dealt personally by one’s Lord about one’s deeds. None will be one’s supporter or helper beside Him.

These people can reap advantage from the Guidance of Holy Qur’aan. This Word of Allaah Almighty will cause to know them: It is compulsory for success in the Court of our Lord that we should obey strictly His Commands today in the world, pass our lives in His prescribed limits, do every that work, which pleases Him and give up all those deeds, which are forbidden by Him. It is called piety and fear of God Almighty. Those people who ward of evil can become Sobers and Temperate.

It was commanded in the second verse of Chapter -2 (Baqarah): Zaalikal-Kitaabu  laa  rayba  fiih.  Hudal-lil-Muttaqiin {This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a Guidance unto Those Who ward off (evil)}. It has further been explained in this verse about it that, only that person has ability to be a pious, who fears from Allaah Almighty and wards of evils. Think before you commit – Whether is it right or wrong? For such people, this Word of Allaah Almighty is a Spiritual Guide and a Conductor.

We should follow that which we receive from the Messenger

Lesson # 717 From Holy Qur’aan

We should follow that which we receive from the Messenger

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage – 2

Verse – 50 of 165, Section – 5 of 20 (Part – 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): I say not unto you (that) I possess the treasures of Allaah, nor that I have knowledge of the Unseen; and I say not unto you: Lo! I am an Angel. I follow only that which is inspired in Me. Say: Are the blind man and the seer equal? Lesson

It has been being described in the previous verses that those people who do not want to obey the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), they make evasions. Sometimes they say: If you are a Messenger; show us done as we say. At another time they ask: When the Hereafter will come? Again at any other time they argue:  In what manner is He a Messenger, who moves in Bazars and do works like common people?

Opposite to all of them, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) has been advised to be patient and commanded: The ancient people also used to treat those Messengers (peace be upon Them), who were sent before You in the same manner. Actually, main reason of these people is the same, which was of those before them that they desire to maintain their own way of life and do not wish any changing in that particular way (which leads them to stray).

They do not want to understand the reality. Moreover, base of their entire deeds is stubbornness, obstinacy and refractoriness. Even then, actual work of the Messengers (peace be upon Them) has been mentioned in this verse in clear words, so that the wise people may understand the fact.

It is commanded: Say (O Muhammad, to the disbelievers): 1.  Neither had I claimed ever and nor now claim that I possess the treasures of Allaah Almighty; I shall provide you, what you will demand. 2.  Nor I have knowledge of the Unseen; 3.  And never had I said to you that I am an Angel and am free from the worldly necessities. I am also a Mankind like you.

There is a difference to that extent among you and Me (Muhammad – grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that the Divine Revelation comes unto Me, in which I am guided about that, what I would have to do. So, I follow only that which is inspired in Me. However, it does not mean that I have not remained a Mankind.

But the thing is only that there is a difference between human beings. (Which you can observe that someone is more wise, while the other is less, someone can see the matter deeply, whereas the other person cannot observe the thing near to him). Someone is blind, the other can see clearly. This is the only difference between you and Me (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) that I have been caused to understand those things which are not known by common people. Meditate in it deeply, it is not any such thing which is difficult to be understood.  You can know it easily if you take a little thought in it.

It is better to be a Mankind than an Angel, but it needs some more labor.

Lesson

It is the nature of human being that he should bow unto Allaah Almighty, proof of which is that whenever any harsh affliction comes, willing or unwilling, the mankind calls only Allaah Almighty for help and forgets entire other things. That is the natural thing, upon which, humankind act during the time of tribulation and adversity, on the condition that, he has not become Satan. Another proof regarding Allaah Almighty has been given in this verse that Only He is the One Worshipped.

It is commanded: Suppose! If Allaah Almighty snatched from you your useful things then Who is He, who could restore them to you? Your most useful things are three i.e. ears, eyes and hearts. If Allaah Almighty blind your eyes, make your ears deaf and disorder or stop your hearts from working (the human being becomes blind, deaf and senseless or dead), then Is there anyone else, who may provide these things? Accordingly, none could treat any natural deaf, blind, senseless and dumb till to-date.

Allaah Almighty causes to understand this Truth in Holy Qur’aan again and again, and chooses any new way to admonish every time. But the people never draw attention and turn away. Ask them also: How would tyrant people be saved from destruction, if the punishment of Allaah Almighty come? His torment can come upon them unawares (suddenly) also as well as after sending Revelations, warning and postponement too. The tyrant people will be ruined and destroyed themselves in both conditions. They will damage nothing of Allaah Almighty.

Behavior of the infidels of Makkah was described in the previous section that they demand any such portent from the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), observing which, there may not remain any doubt that really He is Messenger. Allaah Almighty addresses His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): O Messenger! Do not grieve from their objections. They have insulted Our Revelations falsifying Our Messenger. They will suffer due to these kinds of deeds. We certainly sent Our Messengers unto those peoples that were before You and they used to tease Them (peace be upon Them) telling lies in such manner. Like them, these people also boast upon their wealth and property. But nothing will be useful for them out of these things and they will be annihilated like them too.

Allaah Almighty says in these verses that there is no other reason to send the Messengers (peace be upon Them) than that as bearers of good news and warners for the entire people. Then those people, who believe and do good works, good news are for them. There shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. But those who deny the verses of Holy Qur’aan, falsify Our Revelations and demand particular portents for evading, they should be warned as: The torment will afflict you for your disobedience.

It is known clearly from this Revelation that the Messengers (peace be upon Them) are sent by Allaah Almighty to convey His Message. That Message is: You should do only those works, which are permitted by Allaah Almighty, and do not do those works, which are forbidden by Him. This is the Way to get rid of fear and grief. The name of that person will be written in “Disobedient”, who did not care this Law of Life and will suffer rigorous punishment of disobedience.

Lesson

It was described in the previous verses that the afflictions are sent down upon the people for the reason that they do not obey the commands of Allaah Almighty. It is the purpose to reveal the tribulation and adversity that the people should incline towards Allaah Almighty, believe in Him and obey His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him and His Last Scripture (Holy Qur’aan), because if they will not do so then they will fall upon evil days.

It is reasonable that they should think deeply about circumstances and consequences of ancient people, that if we shall disobey, the result for us will also be the same as they suffered. The Messengers of Allaah Almighty (peace be upon Them) came unto them, as well as Holy Scriptures were revealed for them, even then, when they did not obey, then afflictions, tribulations and adversities were sent down upon them. The result of ancient peoples’ stubbornness and obstinacy has been discussed in the verses of today’s lesson, so that the people of present time would have to startle from negligence and carelessness by hearing the circumstances of those people, who were ruined.

It is commanded that when they did not learn the lesson from afflictions too, then We (Allaah Almighty) loosened them and opened unto them the gates of all things like wealth and property, honor and emperor etc. till, even as they were enjoying their life with open hearts and were rejoicing in that which they were given.

When they were bestowed with eases and comfort in every field, then they became fearless totally and began to consider their depravity and error as a correct path. When they were happy completely, then Allaah Almighty seized them suddenly and unawares and they could do nothing. The despair surrounded them from all around. At last they were ruined. Their stubbornness, obstinacy, bragging and giving themselves airs, everything was in vain. In short, shame the wrongdoers.

Allaah Almighty gave them much time to understand the matter that they should know the Creator and Lord of this world, and accept their humility before Him. But they remained in their own haughtiness and did not listen to anyone. At last they were defeated very badly and the punishment of Allaah’s torment came upon them in the world and they were destroyed. The punishment, which will be given to them on the Day of Resurrection, is a separate matter.

Lesson

It was told in the previous lesson that the human being is confounded at that time, when any affliction comes and none can help him, whereas, he would have taken warning from a little accidents and turned towards Allaah Almighty immediately.

In this lesson, the attention has been drawn towards the people of old times and commanded that the people of present time should take a lesson by considering thoughtfully their circumstances: It is the fixed rule to admonish the humankind that at first, Allaah Almighty sends His Prophets and Messengers (peace be upon Them) among the people.

When the people neither incline towards the Prophet or Messenger (peace be upon Him) and nor listen to the Revelations revealed upon Him (peace be upon Him), then tribulations and adversities are sent down for them, so that they might lean before Allaah Almighty hopelessly and grow humble, knowing His Power.

Even hereupon, the stupidity, obstinacy and perverseness of the human beings harden their hearts and Satan uses to produce evil things of the world making them beautiful in front of the people.

It is commanded: O Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him)! We certainly sent Our Messengers (peace be upon Them) unto peoples that were before Thee. When the people did not obey Them fairly, then some tribulation and adversity were revealed upon them in order that they might grow humble. But on the contrary, their hearts were hardened and the Devil produced before them their evil deeds as good works, and they were entangled into them being careless entirely from Allaah Almighty.

It is known clearly from these verses that whenever people are entangled in evil deeds and bad habits, and disobey the Messengers’ advice, then famine, plague, storms and quakes etc. are sent down, for the purpose that they should bow before Allaah Almighty and beg pardon of Allaah Almighty.

Lesson

Summary of the previous lesson was that the human being forgets his Creator (Allaah Almighty) due to worldly desires, greed and selfishness, and these entire calamities besiege him as a darkness. In these darkness, neither anything discriminates himself, nor he hears other people’s admonition and nor he asks from anyone else.

Forgetting own Creator is utmost negligence. It is true that the desires and selfishness make a mankind deaf, dumb and blind. It has been commanded in this verse that whenever any affliction falls suddenly upon the human being, then he loses his sense and forgets those desires, to which he had made his gods and worshipped. At that time, he sees nothing except Allaah Almighty. Then he calls his Creator rash, and if He will, removes his affliction.

It is the form of despair that whenever humankind either does not find any helper or supporter, or all his supporters and relatives deny helping him, then he turns toward Allaah Almighty and begs verbally and heartily. In this situation, entire human beings begin to call their Creator and Lord Almighty aloud in their own languages.

Allaah Almighty addresses His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him): Say (to the disbelievers)! If the punishment of Allaah’s torment were to come upon you today (Let us flee to Allaah) or the Hour of the Resurrection come upon you, which is the biggest affliction, then Answer that, if you are truthful, Would you call (for help) to your these false gods other than Allaah?

Nay, but at that time, your eyes will be opened and you will begin to call only that Actual God Almighty, Who is only One Worshipped and Whom you had forgotten. While it is usual also in the worldly small afflictions, then what can be said about the severest punishment of Allaah’s torment of the Day of Judgment? Therefore, that person is wise, who knows Allaah Almighty before time and accepts it that there is neither any supporter, nor remover of the affliction, whether that affliction is big or small except Allaah Almighty. At last, the deliverance from all afflictions, pain and grief will be for such people.

Lessons from Holy Qur'an

Those are deaf and dumb in darkness, who deny Revelations

Lesson # 712 From Holy Qur’aan

Those are deaf and dumb in darkness, who deny Revelations

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And those who deny Our Revelations are deaf and dumb in darkness. Whom Allaah will, He sendeth astray. Lesson

It was commanded in the previous verse: Every creature has been given sufficient wisdom to go on its Established Path, due to which, it understands the portents of that Path and chooses It. For the humankind, the Path has also been established, as well as it’s Portents too, and the verses of Holy Qur’aan have cleared it. The wisdom, how much is necessary to understand them, has been given to the human beings.

Now, if the mankind does not understand through his sense, then it is his own incorrectness. Allaah Almighty has already dictated portents of their paths separately in writing for the entire creature and has given sufficient wisdom for knowing them and He has neglected nothing out of them. The condition of those people has been admonished in this verse, who falsify the verses of Holy Qur’aan and do not wish to understand the portents of the Path.

It is commanded that those people, who deny the Revelations of Allaah Almighty and do not use their sense, which has been bestowed to them by Allaah Almighty, as though, they switched off that Light, which was useful for them to see the Path and its portents might be visible by them, and the darkness spread over all around for them.

At this stage, it was compulsory for them that, while they were unable to observe anything, they would have to know the Path by listening to the other people, and if they have become hard-hearing, then they would have asked from the other people themselves about the Path. Whether they switched off the Light of their wisdom, neither hear the talk of others and nor ask from other people about the Path, then it is evident that they are deaf and dumb in darkness.

In this situation, now there is no chance of guidance for them. At the other side, Allaah Almighty has the Power; whom He will, He sends him astray. And whom He will, He places him on a Straight Path. While they have shut the entire doors of guidance upon themselves, then what has remained further for them except the depravity? So, Allaah Almighty sent them astray, because it is the Rule established by Allaah Almighty: Anyone who takes up one’s condition as, is treated accordingly with.

It is known from this verse that the human being, either go straight forward by using own sense, or act upon the advice, which hear from the wise people, or if he is unable to understand, then ask himself about the Correct Path and know, otherwise, he is a devil in darkness, deaf and dumb.

Lessons from Holy Qur'an

Every Creature is a separate nation

Lesson # 711 From Holy Qur’aan

Every Creature is a separate nation

Surah ‘Al-‘An-‘aam (Cattle) – Chapter – 6)–Stage – 2

Verse – 38 of 165, Section – 4 of 20 (Part – 7)

BisMIllaahir-Rahmaanir-Rahiim

In the name of Allaah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

And there is not a moving animal in the earth, nor a flying creature flying on two wings, but they are genera like unto you. We have neglected nothing in the Book (of Our Decrees); then unto their Lord they will be gathered.             Wa  maa  min-  daaab-batin-  fil-‘arzi  wa  laa  taaa-‘iriny-yatiiru  bi-janaahayhi  ‘illaaa  ‘umamun  ‘amsaalukum.  Maa  farratnaa  fil-Kitaabi  min-shay-‘in  summa  ‘ilaa  Rabbihim  yuhsharuun.

Lesson

Asking for any portent from the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) by the idolaters of Makkah did not mean that really they are desirous of believing. But they wished that the portent of any such peculiar thing should be demanded, from fulfilling which, the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) may become helpless and give up preaching of Islam, so that they may live their own way of life, of which they had been addicted, and enjoy reveling according to their desires.

It was commanded in the previous verses: O Messenger! Do not hope that they will believe by observing the open portent. Their purpose is that they may keep anyhow their present condition up i.e. idol-worshipping, infidelity and disbelieving. Demanding a portent is only for evading, otherwise, those Revelations are sufficient for the wise people, which We have revealed. There is no need of more clear portents than them. Many of them do not understand this matter, but there are enough signs in the verse of today’s lesson for those people, who wish to understand.

It is commanded that there are hundreds kinds of creature like moving animals in the earth, flying creature flying on two wings in the air and the creature of the sea. Every creature of them is as such nation, as human beings. We have established separate principles of living in the world for every kind of nation. And We have neglected nothing in the Book (of Our Decrees). At the end, they entire will be gathered unto their Lord Almighty. He will treat them in the manner, which will be the demand of His Wisdom and Mercy.

It can be understood from this discussion that a separate way of living has been established in the world for every nation of the creatures. How much sense is required for understanding that particular way for any particular nation, has been given by Allaah Almighty. That sense is sufficient to know those portents.

Likewise, according to this rule such Revelations, Tokens and Portents have also been established for human being, which can be known by the mankind’s wisdom and sense easily, and a man can go straight way by observing them. These people demand rare portents, for instance; they say: Cause to flow a spring before us by tearing the land, or Rise on the sky in front of our eyes, bring down a Book from there and put It before us etc.

The sense and wisdom stands useless in their recognition. Making the sense useless is against the human nature. Portents are revealed in every age in accordance with the improvement of human wisdom. Present time is the most improved time of human sense, so the portents have been sent down according to it.
