Who Seeks Chance Profits of Life, Don’t Despoil Him

Lesson # 541 From Holy Qur’an

Who Seeks Chance Profits of Life, Don’t Despoil Him

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses – 94 of 176, Section – 13/24 (Part – 5)

O ye who believe! When ye go forth (to fight) in the Way of Allah, be careful to discriminate, and say not unto one who offereth you peace: “Thou art not a believer”, seeking the chance profits of this life (so that ye may despoil him). With Allah are plenteous spoils. Even thus (as he now is) were ye before; but Allah hath since then been gracious unto you; therefore take care to discriminate. Surely Allah is Aware of what ye do. Yaaa-‘ayyu-hallaziina  ‘aa-manuuu  ‘izaa  zarab-tum  fii  SabiiLillaahi  fata-bayyanuu  wa  laa  taquuluu  liman  ‘alqaaa  ‘ilay-kumus-salaama  lasta  Mu’-minaa.  Tab-taguuna  ‘arazal-hayaa-tiddunyaa  fa-‘indAllaahi  magaanimu  kasiirah.  Kazaalika  kuntum-min-  qablu  faman-nAllaahu  ‘alaykum  fata-bayyanuu.  ‘InnAllaaha  kaana  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  Khabiiraa.

Lesson

Zarab-tum – (you go forth), this word is from zaraba, one meaning of which is ‘to beat’, and it has also other meanings which are ‘to move, to travel’. In this verse, it aims these (second) meanings.

‘Alqaaa – (offering), it means ‘to put an offer, to say about any matter before someone for his conciliation or making him to understand, to throw anything towards any person’.

‘Araza – (chance profits, wealth and goods), here it signifies towards common necessities of life.

Magaanimun  – (spoils), having the mastery over the things without labour, the wealth acquired for nothing and possession of those things, which have been snatched/taken over from the enemy in war (Maali ganiimat).

Fata-bayyanuu – (Discriminate, inquire, investigate), it has been derived from bayaan. Here it means ‘to set up a judgment after necessary investigation and understanding thoroughly.

It is commanded that ‘when you come out from your houses for fighting, then you should do nothing without attention and investigation, and whosoever discloses that he is a Muslim, you should not say him that he is not Muslim considering that he is pretending only to save his life. And you should not slay him to get his possessing. What would you do after possession of this a little wealth? Allaah Almighty will cause to give you the wealth and equipment of your enemies in huge quantity. There is no deficiency with Him. Stop your hand from the person at once, who declares with any method that he is a believer. Before Islam, you used to slay without any hesitation for getting very little things. Now you have embraced Islam. You should be careful in each matter. None should be slain from your hands in the greed of wealth. You have no right to kill that person who has disclosed himself as Muslim, blaming him that he said himself a Muslim to save his life only. Allaah Almighty knows the deeds of all of you very well and only He can decide that who is true and who is liar. Therefore, you should kill only that person, about whom you are ordered doing so. You cannot understand that whether he embraced Islam to save his life or really he is a Believer.

An Awful Doom for the Killer

Lesson # 540 From Holy Qur’an

An Awful Doom for the Killer

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –92 & 93 of 176, Section – 13/24 (Part – 5)

92.  It is not for a believer to kill a believer unless (it be) by mistake. And he who hath killed a believer by mistake must set free a believing slave, and pay the blood-money to the family of the slain, unless they remit it as a charity. If he (the victim) be of a people hostile unto you, and he is a believer, then (the penance is) to set free a believing slave. And if he cometh of a folk between whom and you there is a covenant, then the blood-money must be paid unto his folk and (also) a believing slave must be set free. And whoso hath not the wherewithal must fast two consecutive months; a penance from Allah. And Allah is Knower, Wise.

93.  whoso slayeth a believer intentionally his reward is Hell wherein he will abide for ever and Allah is wroth against him and He hath cursed him and prepared for him an awful doom.

92.  Wa  maa  kaana  li-Mu’-mi-nin  ‘any-yaqtula  Mu’-minan  ‘illaa  khata-‘aa.  Wa  man  qatala  Mu’-minan  khata-‘an  fatah-riiru  raqabatim-Mu’-minatinw-wa  di-yatum-musalla-matun  ‘ilaaa  ‘ahlihiii  ‘illaaa  ‘any-yas-saddaquu.  Fa-‘in  kaana  min- qawmin  ‘aduwwil-lakum  wa huwa  Mu’-minun-   fatah-riiru  raqaba-tim-Mu’-minah.  Wa  ‘in  kaana  min  qawmim-bayna-kum  wa  baynahum-mii-saaqun-  fa-diyatum-musalla-matun  ‘ilaaa  ‘ahlihiii  wa  tah-riiru  raqa-batim-Mu’-minah.  Famallam  yajid  fa-Siyaamu  shah-rayni  mutataa-bi-‘ayn;  tawbatam-minAllaah.  Wa  kaanAllaahu  ‘Aliiman  Hakiimaa.

HasbonaAllaah

Lesson

Tah-riiru  – (to set free), its origin is hur and plural ‘ahraar. Hur means ‘free, independent’.

Raqa-bati – (neck), here aim of this word is ‘slave’, because slave’s neck remains in his master’s hands.

Di-yatun – (blood-money), that is to say; the amount or part of wealth which is paid to the family of the slain person.

Yas-saddaquu  – (they remit, exempt), the word is from sadaqah, which means charity. Its object is that if the heirs of the killed person forgive the killer and do not get blood-money from him, then it will be charity from them.

Shah-rayni  mutataa-bi-‘ayn – (two consecutive months), it aims that no day should be left without fast within two months.

Muta-‘ammidan – (intentionally), it has been derived from the word ‘amada, which means ‘intention, attempt, willing. Qatli-‘amad means willful murder or homicide, because punishment of unknowingly murder is different from this type of killing.

Heretofore, the Muslims were instructed to fight against mischievous and treacherous hypocrites, and it is possible in the war that any Muslim is slain erroneously or unknowingly. So punishment of this type of murder was mentioned.

It was commanded, “It cannot be expected from a Muslim that he will slaughter any other Muslim intentionally. However, if it has been done so erroneously, then it should be observed:

  • Is the Muslim from one’s own nation and country?
  • Does he belong to any other such nation or country, who are not Muslims but a treaty has been agreed mutually with you?
  • Did he come from such infidel nation with whom you do not have any agreement of peace, but both are enemies of each other and fighting war?

If the slain person is from own folk, then the killer will set free a Muslim slave and pay the blood-money to the heirs of the slain. If he was from the nation, with whom you have agreement not to fight, then also you will set free any Muslim slave and pay the blood-money to his infidel heirs. If he belonged to the enemy nation, then you would have to set free a Muslim slave. In this case paying the blood-money is not necessary.

If the killer is poor, neither he has any slave or bond-woman to set free, and nor has wealth for paying blood-money, then he should fast for two consecutive months without vacant. Then his repentance will be acceptable because this is not such a crime which may be forgiven so easily. Suffer upon your own body as penance of murder and fast two consecutive months without leaving any day beside fasting, if you do not have wherewithal (blood-money) to spend.

In the next verse, punishment for that believer has been described, who kills any other believer intentionally and voluntarily. This is the crime from which nobody can get rid of through penance. Its punishment will be given on the Doomsday. The killer will be thrown in the Fire of Hell. He will abide there forever. The Curse and wroth of Allaah Almighty is upon him. He has prepared for him an awful doom. This torment is separate from that punishment which will be suffered by him in the world i.e. taking kisaas (blood-money) from him. The command regarding retaliation (Kisaas) has passed in Surah Al-Baqarah (Chapter: The Cow).

Choose No Friend from among Enemies

Lesson # 539 From Holy Qur’an

Choose No Friend from among Enemies

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –89b, 90 & 91 of 176, Section – 12/24 (Part – 5)

89b.  if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them- 90.  Except those who seek refuge with a people between whom and you there is a covenant, or (those who) come unto you because their hearts forbid them to make war on you or make war on their own folk. Had Allah Willed He would have given them power over you so that assuredly they would have fought you. So, if they hold aloof from you and wage not war against you and offer you peace, then Allah has alloweth you no way against them. 91.  Ye will find others who desire that they should have security from you, and security from their own folk. So often as they are returned to hostility they are plunged therein. If they keep not aloof from you nor offer you peace nor hold their hands, then take them and kill them wherever ye find them. Lesson

Khuzuu – its origin is ‘akhaza, which is used for three purposes; to make, to choose or adopt and to hold. Base of Laa  tattakhizuu (do not choose) is also the same. Miisaaqun – (covenant), it is from wasuuq, which means “to trust, faith and confidence”. Miisaaq is the thing, from which trust and faith is produced. It can also be aimed as mutual agreement. Sallata – this word is from tasliit, which means “to give control, to allow one to prevail (over or against) and to empower someone. This order is regarding those people, who were mentioned in the above lesson. ‘I’-taza-luukum –  (they hold aloof from you). It is from ‘i’-tizaal, which is again from ‘azala that means ‘to hold aloof, to remain separate, to avoid from troubling someone’. Ma’-zuul has also derived from it. As-salama – (peace, truce), Islam, tasliim and many other words have come out from it. It means ‘to wish safety (for self and others), to give shelter’. Here the word ‘As-salama has been used also for friendship and union besides the word peace. saqif-tumuuhum – (you find them). The substance of this word is saqiif, which means ‘to find, to acquire’. Its aim is that whenever the war is proclaimed, then kill the enemy wherever you find him. Mind it that this order is not for the common days of peace, but only in the condition of war. It is desired that the people who are squeezed in the infidelity, they will not become Muslims. But they will use to tempt others that they should become infidels too. However, you should say them continuously to embrace Islam and sacrifice in such a way, as you have sacrificed. If they do not believe, then you should not think for them in war, take them after overcoming and kill them. Their mixing up is useless in war because these people are your fast enemies and bad-wishers. They will not shun from wickedness, whenever they will find any chance. In the situation of war, kill these selfish people, wherever you find them. But there are two forms for their safety:

  • They have deep association and covenant of peace with them, who have a treaty of alliance with you, because in this condition, they have entered in that covenant of peace too.
  • If they want to make a truce with you due to vexation of war, with the condition that neither they will fight with you themselves, nor they will support their nation against you.

It has been described in this verse, that if these people remain bound after the treaty of truce, give up fighting and remain in peace, then you are not permitted to narrow them. Then another group of hypocrite infidels have been discussed. These are the people, who neither want to fight against you, nor against their own nation. They make a covenant with you that they will not make a war on you. But when they observe that your enemies have been increasing, then they do not regard your articles of agreement and join your enemies. If such people come to break the covenant and begin rigidity, then you should also fight against them and destroy them, wherever you find them, because you have a perfect reason against them that they have become faithless to their covenant. Lesson # 538 From Holy Qur’an

Forsake Homes in the Way of God

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –88 & 89a of 176, Section – 12/24 (Part – 5)

88.  What aileth you that ye are become two parties regarding the hypocrites, when Allah cast them back (to disbelief) because of what they earned? Seek ye to guide him whom Allah hath sent astray? And he whom Allah sendeth astray, for him thou (O Muhammad) canst not find a way.

89a.  They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the Way of Allah;

god-wouldnt-punish-them

Lesson

Munaafi-qiina  – it is plural of Munaafi-q that means hypocrites, which are being discussed since many lessons back. They are called hypocrites, whose outward appearance and inward qualities are not uniform, whose outward behavior is only for show. In the beginning of Islam, these people were of two kinds.

  • Those persons, who used to say themselves Muslims, but actually they were infidels by hearts.
  • The people, who were infidels, but they wished to keep association, union and friendly relationship with the Muslims.

Now discussion about the second kind of group begins.

In the beginning of Islam, some people had not embraced Islam, but they used to tie friendship and love with the Muslims. They desired that whenever Muslims fight against the infidels, then they should leave them considering their friends, and their wealth and lives might remain safe. When it was known that their aim is only to save themselves from any kind of loss and to hurt the Muslims, then the Muslims became two parties. One of them used to say, “Leave to meet the fiends of their own intentions cordially”. The other party used to say, “What do they mar us? May be some of them become Muslims in imitation”.

It has been declared in this verse that it was useless to meet the selfish people cordially. Their deeds are too much bad that Allaah Almighty has kept them deprived of such blessing like Islam and returned them toward infidelity. Nobody can guide them towards the Straight Path, to whom Allaah Almighty sends astray due to punishment of their bad deeds. Actually, they wish to bring you also back to infidelity. But you have embraced Islam and even left your birth-place. Therefore, as long as they also do not leave their native land and do not become ready to sacrifice their wealth and property, wives and children, rest and comfort (even everything), you should never make them friends.

There is No God Save Allaah

Lesson # 537 From Holy Qur’an

There is No God Save Allaah

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –86 & 87 of 176, Section – 11/24 (Part One-Half – 5)

86.  When ye are greeted with a greeting, greet ye with a better than it or return it. Lo! Allah taketh account of all things.

87.  Allah! There is no God save Him. He will gather you all unto a Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. And who is more true in statement than Allah?

86.  Wa  ‘izaa  huyyii-tum- bi-tahiyyatin-  fahayyuu  bi-‘ahsana  minhaaa  ‘aw  rudduuhaa.  ‘In-nAllaaha  kaana  ‘alaa  kulli  shay- ‘in Hasiibaa.

87.  ‘Allaahu  laaa  ‘ilaaha  ‘illaa  Huu.  Layajma-‘annakum  ‘ilaa  Yawmil-Qiyaamati  laa  rayba  fiih.  Wa  man  ‘asdaqu  minAllaahi  hadiisaa.

forgiveness

Lesson

Tahiyyata  – (Greeting), this word has some other meanings also, for example; compliments, tribute of any good thing, blessing, benediction, present and gift etc. Here it means ‘to bless, pray and greet for, and compliments. To say the person, who is being addressed ‘Assalaamu ‘alaykum is to bless or to pray for him/her. Meaning of this blessing is that you prayed in the Court of Allaah Almighty for his/her safety.

It has been alleged in the previous verse that the person, who intervenes in a good cause, will have the reward thereof. Here it has been emphasized that it is your duty to wish excellence also for them who are your well-wishers. But you would have to wish for them better than what they have wished for you. If anybody says you ‘Assalaamu ‘alaykum, which means ‘May Allaah Almighty keep you safe, then you should reply him in the words ‘Wa ‘Alaykumus-Salaam’. This reply is equal to that, what he said. But you can say better in reply also as ‘Wa ‘Alaykumus-Salaam wa RahmatUllaah’, which aims ‘May Allaah Almighty keep you safe and reveal upon you His Mercy’. And if the person, who greets you says ‘Wa ‘Alaykumus-Salaam wa RahmatUllaah, then you should reply in these words ‘Wa ‘Alaykumus-Salaam wa RahmatUllaahi wa  Barakaatu Huu. This reply will be better than what he said. That is to say; May Allaah Almighty keep you safe and reveal upon you His Mercy and blessings’.

Then commanded that “Lo! Allah taketh account of all things”. He will not destroy any goodness (even a little) of anybody, but the reward of goodness will be paid in both (this world and the Hereafter).

Every human being should understand that there is neither any God, nor Worshipped save Allaah Almighty and nor is any partner of Him. So He can retaliate as better and excellent reward of good deeds as He Wishes. None can stop Him. He has decided that He will bring you all again to life after death and gather to a Day of Resurrection whereof there is no doubt. The retaliation of goodness, which the people received in this world, that is not sufficient. Full reward will be bestowed upon all on the Doomsday and nobody will be disappointed. There is no accommodation for doubt because what Allaah Almighty says that is true. Moreover, who is more true in statement than Allaah Almighty. Therefore, it is necessary to believe in Him.

Jihaad and its Exciting Desire

Lesson # 536 From Holy Qur’an

Jihaad and its Exciting Desire

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –84 & 85 of 176, Section – 11/24 (Part – 5)

84.  So fight (O Muhammad) in the Way of Allaah. Thou art not taxed (with the responsibility for anyone) except thyself – and urge on the believers. Peradventure Allaah will restrain the might of those who disbelieve. And Allaah is Stronger in might and Stronger in inflicting punishment.

85.  Whoso interveneth in a good cause will have the reward thereof, and whoso interveneth in an evil cause will bear the consequence thereof. And Allaah overseeth all things.

84.  Faqaatil  fii  SabiiLillaah.  Laa  tukallafu  ‘illaa  nafsaka  wa  harrizil-Mu’-miniin.  ‘AsAl-laahu  ’any-yakuffa  ba’-sal-laziina  kafaruu.  Wallaahu  ‘ashaddu  ba’-sanw-wa  ‘ashaddu  tankiilaa.

85.  Many-yash-fa’  shafaa-‘atan  hasanatany-yakul-lahuu  nasii-bum-minhaa.  Wa  kaanAl-laahu  ‘alaa  kulli  shay-‘im-Muqiitaa.

faith in Allah

Lesson

Tukallafu – it is from Takliif that means, to put any burden upon someone, to make liable for any responsibility, to compel any person to do the work, for which he will be answerable. Mu-kallafun means responsible. Here the aim from the word Laa  tukallafu is ‘You will not be held responsible’.

Harrizun  – this word has been derived from Tahriiz, which means ‘to lift up, to urge on, to incline for some kind of work, to raise and to emphasize’.

Tankiil   – (to punish, to place in torment)

It was admonished in the earlier verses that there was no cause to fear from the fight. While everybody has to taste the death, then why should not one die like the brave men? In the verse it has been ordered to the Messenger of Allaah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), “If the Hypocrites do not be ready for fighting, then you have no concern with them. Come out yourselves, whether any person from them follows you or not. However, continue to urge them without fail. You are not taxed with the responsibility for anyone except yourself. Your only duty is to tell them. Allaah Almighty is your Supporter. It is peradventure that He will restrain your enemies being over-awed from your might, after the act of your coming out for war. Bear in mind that none can fight with Allaah Almighty. He is Stronger in inflicting punishment. Trust in Him only.

Then it is being commanded that the person, who intervenes in a good cause, he/she will have the reward thereof, and whoso intervenes in an evil cause, he/she will bear the consequence thereof. It has also been pointed out in this verse that the best method to excite the people for any work is that the individual should begin that particular work first before them.

Lesson # 535 From Holy Qur’an

Verification of False News

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –83 of 176, Section – 11/24 (Part – 5)

And if any news whether of peace or fear, comes unto them, they spread it abroad, whereas if they had referred it to the Messenger and to such of them as are in authority, those among them who are able to think out the matter would have known it. And if it had not been for the Grace of Allah upon you and His Mercy ye would have followed Satan, save a few (of you). Wa  ‘izaa  jaaa-‘ahum  ‘am-rum-minal-‘amni  ‘awil-khawfi  ‘azaa-‘uu  bih.  Wa  law  radduu-hu  ‘ilar-Rasuuli  wa  ‘ilaaa  ‘ulil-‘amri  minhum  la-‘alima-hul-laziina  yastam-bituunahuu  min-hum.  Wa  law-laa  FazlUllaahi  ‘alaykum  wa  RahmatuHuu  lat-ta-ba’-tumush-Shaytaana  ‘illaa  qaliilaa.

facebook_-313568417

Lesson

‘Azaa-‘uu  – derived from the word ‘azaa-‘ah, which means ‘to spread, to publish and to proclaim by the beat of drum.

Radduu-hu  – it is from the word radd, which means ‘to refer, to give back, to return, to convey, to bring and to reject.

Yastam-bituunahuu – this word has been derived from ‘istinbaat, which means ‘to think out the reality, to bring out by investigation, to verify, to take out etc.

Purpose of revelation of this verse is told in this manner that the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) directed a person towards a village to collect the poor-due (Zakaat) from the inhabitants of that village. The people of the village came out to welcome him when they heard about his arrival. This person considered that they have come to kill him. He returned immediately, reached Madinah and proclaimed that the inhabitants of such village had gone back from Islam. This news spread in the city but nobody told the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him). After all when He knew this news, He (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) investigated and found that the news was quite wrong.

It has been described in the verse that it is the duty of the people that whenever they get any intimation (whether of peace or fear), they should not tell anybody about it. They should go directly in front of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) and to such of them as are in authority, those among them who are able to think out the matter would have known it, and inform them in detail. When they clear the matter as true after necessary verification and investigation, then it should be published in the public.

Heretofore, dealing of the Hypocrites is under discussion and their secret plans are being betrayed. In this verse, another bad habit has been described. The Hypocrites used to spread the rumor, which produce anxiety, so that the Muslims may be confused. If they used to listen to any secret news, then they used to spread it immediately, so that, if the news is regarding the battle, then enemies of the Muslims may be careful timely. Moreover, if it is a normal matter, then either the Muslims may be jested or contempt and disgust may be born between the people mutually themselves. In imitation to those people, some senseless Muslims also used to perform such act. All these persons have been warned that they should not do so. It is useless to publish any by chance hearsay talk without investigation and there is a risk of to be hurt.

Wa  man-tawallaa  famaaa  ‘arsal-naaka  ‘alay-him  hafiizaa (and whoso turned away; then We have not sent you as a warder over them). In other words, it means that the person who disobeyed the Messenger, he disobeyed Allah. It has also made the people to understand that the opponents of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) should let fly this matter from their hearts that they would ever be able to harm Him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) or His religion i.e. Islam. Allah Almighty is Sufficient as Trustee.

What the aim of denial from Prophet-hood of merciful Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him) may be other than it that the deniers have any doubt or suspicion in the Scripture, brought by Him? To remove their misunderstanding, Allah Almighty provided uncounted proofs about the Truth of Holy Qur’an and being it as His Own Word. Accordingly, they were challenged even in the first Part of Holy Qur’an, “If you consider it as a human Word, but not Mine, then you all opponents are invited to bring any one or half of any Chapter like This.

Here another quite clear and befitting proof has been provided. It is commanded, “Do you not think about Holy Qur’an and in connection with being it as a Truth? If you would have recited it, then you would have found this fact yourselves that there is no difference from the beginning to the end in this such corpulent Book. It’s no verse is contrary to the other. There is no absurdity in its teachings from the beginning to the end. If it were human Word, then surely there might be contradictions and absurdity in it.

Think a while, how is it possible that it would be human Word, It has 6,666 (six thousand six hundred and sixty six) verses and sentences, and these entire are so much concordant with one another that none is opposite from the other? No. Surely It is the Word of God Almighty and pure from all the defects. Let us believe in it and gain the Success.

Who Plans Against Prophet, is Conspirator

LESSON # 533 FROM HOLY QUR’AN

Who Plans Against Prophet, is Conspirator

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –81 of 176, Section – 11/24 (Part – 5)

81.  And they: say (It is) obedience; but when they have gone forth from thee a party of them spend the night in planning other than what thou sayest. And Allah recordeth what they plan by night. So ignore them and put thy trust in Allah. And Allah is Sufficient as Trustee. 81.  Wa  yaquuluuna  Taa-‘ah;  fa-‘izaa  barazuu  min  ‘indika  bayyata  taaa-‘ifatum-minhum  gayrallazii  taquul.  Wallaahu  yak-tubu  maa  yu-bayyituun.  Fa-‘a’-riz  ‘anhum  wa  ta-wakkal  ‘alAllaah.  Wa  kafaa  Billaahi  Wakiilaa.

Lesson

Taa-‘atun  – (to say: I agreed, I admitted or I believed)

bayyatun  – (night)

A’-riz  – (ignore, turn away, do not care)

Another artifice of the hypocrites has been narrated in this verse. When they used to listen to the Sayings of the Messenger of Allah Almighty, they used to say before him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), “We have admitted, accepted or agreed to your entire commands whole-heartedly and our duty is to obey you”. However, when they used to get out from the company of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), then they used to plan secretly at night and bring to a conclusion that possibly they would never obey the Prophet ‘Muhammad’ (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) and oppose him. Their open and hidden are not equal. They backbite and do not do that, what they say. If they think that, they would use to deceive the Muslims by making apparent lame excuses like this, and use to dig secretly their roots, then they are at wrong because this all secret planning (of nights) is being observed by Allah Almighty. He knows their entire wicked activities from the beginning to the end. This double-faced conduct of the hypocrites will not run more ahead and their fraud will be disclosed positively.

The obedience does not have the meaning that the tongue, “Yes Sir, very well and all right”, says, but the heart makes up the mind to do against it. Then Messenger of Allah Almighty is being instructed, “Trust in Allah Almighty. What He wishes to do, He does it. Neither He needs any help of someone, nor does He care for any opposite. He is Sufficient to complete all tasks. Believe in Him”.

After describing the double-faced policy (conspiracies and artifices) of the Hypocrites, Allah Almighty commanded the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon Him), “You would ignore them and put your trust in Allah Almighty because His Adroitness is Sufficient. Neither you are needy of anybody and nor progress of Islam is connected with any person”.

Who Obeys the Messenger, Obeys Allah

LESSON # 532 FROM HOLY QUR’AN

Who Obeys the Messenger, Obeys Allah

Surah Nisaaa’ (Women) – Chapter – 4)

Verses –80 of 176, Section – 11/24 (Part – 5)

Whoso obeyeth the Messenger hath obeyed Allah, and whoso turneth away; then We have not sent thee as a warder over them.        Many-yuti-‘ir-Rasuula fa-qad  ‘ataa-‘Allaah.  Wa  man-tawallaa  famaaa  ‘arsal-naaka  ‘alay-him  hafiizaa.

Lesson

Tawallaa – (turned away), it means ‘to disobey, to revolt’.

Hafiizun – (a warder, a guard), that is to say; the Watching, who hinders and the protector.

A valuable advantage has been mentioned in this verse, which, due to coming of the last Messenger of Allah Almighty in this world (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), can be attained by the people. It is the fruit of faith that those people, who have believed in Allah Almighty as ‘there and the entire worlds’ Creator, Preserver, Nourisher and Supplier of all needs’, surely they want to obey Him. How a great light is for them in it that Allah Almighty sent a Man duly appointed as His selected Messenger (Muhammad) (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), and proclaimed that the person, who will obey his orders, he will Our obedient and who will disobey Him, he will be considered as he disobeyed Us. He will not be able to please Us (Allah Almighty) through any other method. How a big kindness of Allah Almighty is that He made too much easy and practicable His own obedience for the mankind.

Then He commanded to His Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), “Carry on to tell the people those instructions, which they have to do. If someone does not act upon your sayings, in this matter you are not responsible. We have not appointed you as a warder or guard over them. We will decide about these disobedient people at Our Own. You should neither grieve and nor care for them”. Alas! Some people understand that they can make their life good by following the rich, the proud and the haughty persons, leaving such a kind and loving Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

Allah Almighty has established this principle forever in this verse that the person, who wants to be Our obedient, he should obey Our Messenger, and who will not obey the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), he is Our disobedient. He will be punished with the same torment, which has been fixed for the disobedient. In the earlier verses, it has been told clearly that if the punishment is awarded to you, that will be from Allah Almighty and cause of it will be your own deeds. The Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) can neither be held responsible, nor does the blame rest upon him (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him).

There is also an invitation towards the easy path for the human being in this verse, as well as a vigorous threat too along with it. If you will obey the Messenger of Allah Almighty (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), then your life of this world and the Hereafter will be correct, because due to obedience you will become obedient servant of Allah Almighty and there is nothing more than it to decorate the life. Moreover, if you will disobey, then you should not charge the Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) for being punished. The only duty of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is to deliver the Message of Allah Almighty. It does not include in his duty to drive you forcibly on the Straight Path. Due to disobeying the orders of the Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), you disobeyed Allah Almighty. Now He will punish you Personally.
