Clemency Of The Apostle Muhammad

LESSON # 445 FROM HOLY QUR’AN

Clemency Of The Apostle Muhammad

Surah ‘Aali ‘Imran (The Family Of ‘Imran, Chapter – 3)

Verse – 159 of 200, Section –17 (Part – 4)

It is by the Mercy of Allah that thou are lenient with them (O Muhammad), for if thou have been stern and fierce of heart they would have dispersed from round about thee. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult with them upon the conduct of affairs, so when thou art resolved, then put thy trust in Allah. Lo! Allah loveth those who put their trust (in Him).  Fa-bimaa Rahmatim-minallaahi  linta  lahum. Wa law  kunta  fazzan  galiizal-qalbi  lan-fazzuu  min  haw-lik. Fa’-fu  ‘anhum  wastagfir  lahum  wa  shaawirhum  fil-‘amr. Fa-‘izaa  ‘azamta  fata-wakkal  ‘alallaah. ‘Innallaaha  yuhibbul-Mutawakkiliin.

Lesson

There was a great negligence from the side of Muslims in the battle of ‘Uhud. So, perhaps Holy Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would be angry in his heart and he would have intended that he would leave consulting with the Muslims in future. Therefore, Allah Almighty recommended the Muslims in a light style. At first, He declared that they were forgiven, because anger and grief of Holy Prophet (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) is only for Allah Almighty. Then He commanded, “It is a great blessing of Allah Almighty that he made his Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) so much civil, polite and lenient. If Holy Messenger Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would have been stern and fierce of heart, they would have dispersed from round about him. It would not be sure that what behavior he would have adopted in the conduct of affairs. This nation might not remain assembled around him. If he (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) would have called to account severely then they could not come even near due to shame and repentance. In such a manner, they would have remained deprived from a great goodness and blessing, and the Unity of Islamic nation would have shattered.

Holy Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace of Allah Almighty be upon him) ignores their mistakes for their correction. Allah Almighty guides, “Although, Allah Almighty has forgiven them now however, you should ask me for their forgiveness for more satisfaction of their hearts. Consult with them for the conduct of necessary affairs. After consultation, when a matter is finalized and Intended solemnly then all of you should set up on it with perfect trust in Allah almighty because Allah Almighty loves those people, who put their trust in Him.

Hadrat Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) asked the Holy Prophet Muhammad (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him), “O Messenger of Allah! The matter, which we do not find in the Holy Qur’an and your traditions, which method should we adopt for that?” Holy Messenger (grace, glory, blessings and peace be upon him) replied, “consult with only those, who are wise and worshippers of Allah Almighty and do not follow the opinion of anyone else”. Value of mutual consultation has been disclosed from this verse and Hadith.

Pardon and Mercy from God Are Better Than All

LESSON # 444 FROM HOLY QUR’AN

158.  And if you die or are slain, when unto Allah ye are gathered?

156b.  Wallaahu yuhyii  wa  yumiit.  Wallaahu  bimaa  ta’-maluuna  Basiir.

157.  Wa la-‘in-  qutiltum  fii  Sabiilillaahi  ‘aw  muttum  la-magfiratum-minallaahi  wa  rahmatun  khayrum-mimmaa  yaj-ma-‘uun.

158.  Wa la-‘im-muttum  ‘aw  qutiltum  la-‘ilallaahi  tuhsha-ruun.

Lesson

It has been answered about the presumption of the Hypocrites that If they (the Muslims) had been (here) with us they would not have died or been killed. Allah Almighty commands, “To kill and to bring to life is in my power of choice. None can interfere in it. When and wherever I want, I cause death of the humankind. There are many such people who remain in journey during their entire life, they attend fights, battles and do crusades in the Way of Allah Almighty, but they die at home. And there are many such people who just stay at their homes and when their death approaches, they leave their homes with any pretense and they are killed or slain there, where Allah Almighty wished. No matter how many plans and arrangements a man makes, neither he can delay these things, nor can he change. However, these sayings of the Hypocrites are absolutely redundant and useless that if they had remained at their homes, they would never have died.

Allah Almighty knows the secrets of the hearts and intentions of entire human beings. He observes whatever they do. He knows that, to which path the Hypocrites and Infidels are leading and to what extent the Muslims avoid to obey their sayings. Allah Almighty will grant rewards to everyone in accord with his/her deeds. He says, “If you are slain in Allah’s Way or die, your sins will be forgiven and blessings will be bestowed upon you. To get which thing, the Hypocrites and Infidels tried their best to escape from death, accepting death in the Way of Allah Almighty and getting remuneration in its return is much better than that thing. If you people will not come out for a Crusade in the Way of Allah Almighty and suppose, you are saved for some time, then will you never die or will not be killed?  You have to die in each condition. Then you all will assemble in the Court of Allah Almighty. At that time, you will know that the lucky persons, who died or were slain in the Way of Allah Almighty, how much blessings of Allah Almighty are sent upon them, before which worldly earnings of the Infidels have no value and the people who died at the infidelity, in which wrath they are involved.
