Outcome Of The Hypocrites

LESSON # 34 HOLY QUR’AAN

BAQARAH – 2

Outcome Of The Hypocrites

Verse – 18 of 286, section -2

  1. Deaf, dumb and blind,

and they return not.

18.   Summum- bukmun ‘umyun fahum laa yarji-‘uun.

Lesson

Summun – (Deaf; hard of hearing; inattentive). Although the Hypocrites

apparently were not deaf but they were called deaf because they did not listen

true advices of Islam and rejected them. They listened and show that they have

not listened as if they were deaf and did not listen.

Bukmun – (Dumb; speechless; mute). Even they had tongues but turned

away asking the true advices and did not accept the Truth as though they were dumb and had not tongue in their mouths.

Umyun    (Blind; unable to see) (plural of Aa’ma). It means blind persons. They were called blind because having their eye-sights they had seen the signs of Allah but didn’t accept.

In this verse outcome of deeds of the hypocrites is being explained.

As after appearing the light of Islam they still adopted the darkness of infidelity. Due to worldly advantages, personal means and carnal desires they didn’t distinguish between good and bad. As according to the natural rule, if the hand is put in fire it burns, similarly because of their perversity and intentionally depravity, their all forces of recognizing the Truth were lost.  Infidelity came over them. They lost the Light of Islam. Allah plundered

their Light because of their evil deeds and they went astray in darkness.

It was the result of not distinguishing between good and bad that having ears they could not listen to the sounds of Truth. Their tongues became dumb due to not asking the right path from anyone. Their eyes became blind due to not seeing the light of Islam. And signs of Allah didn’t affect them.

Openly there are three ways to get knowledge: ear, tongue and eye. Sometime a man gets knowledge by listening, Sometime by asking from someone and sometimes by looking other things by his eyes. But a hypocrite loses his all these three powers due to his revengefulness and haughtiness. And now neither he listens to the sound of any guide, nor asks true knowledge and nor gets any affect seeing signs of the Truth. And now there is no hope of his returning from infidelity to Islam or from darkness to light.

First Likeness Of The Hypocrites

LESSON # 33 HOLY QUR’AAN

BAQARAH – 2

First Likeness Of The Hypocrites

Verse – 17 of 286, section -2

17.   Their likeness is as the likeness

of one who kindleth fire, and when it sheddeth its light around him Allah

taketh away their light and leaveth

them in darkness, where they cannot

see.

17.   Masaluhum kamasa-lillazistawqada naaraa. Falammaaa ‘azaaa-’at maa hawlahuu zahaballaahu bi-nuurihim wa tarakahum fii zulumaatil-laa yubsiruun.

Lesson

Masaluhum – (Their likeness). Likeness means an old famous event

which corresponds to any present event and due to its fame the people may understand it quickly and it becomes helpful also for explanation of the

present event.

Zulumaat – (Plural of darkness).

In the years of Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) there were two

kinds of Hypocrites:

 1.   Those, who were the vital enemies of Islam, but they claimed to be the sympathizers and friends of the Muslims with their tongues.

2.   Those Hypocrites who were weak due to their temperament and were

neither supporters, nor they opposed Islam. In which side they found

their advantage, they put themselves to that side.

These two types of hypocrites are explained in the Holy Quran. In this

verse example of first type of hypocrites is being explained.

Example of these people is like a man who lit the fire in the darkness.

From the light of fire all things around him became bright and he became

capable to recognize the difference between profitable and harmful things.

But suddenly God snatched his eye-sight. Now he could not see anything

while surroundings of him were bright. Just like blinds he is wandering

hither and thither and can not get advantages of the Brightness.

This example proves fit for the Hypocrites. Before Islam they were

surrounding in the darkness of infidelity. There was no distinction between

good end evil for them. Then candle of Islam was enlightened and they

started getting advantages from it. But suddenly all opportunities which they

were availing due to Islam, were snatched. Their original face came in front

of Muslims. And they did not remain capable to deceive the Muslims. Some

of them leaned towards evil leaving the Truth and some were forfeited to get advantage from the Light of Islam due to their personal means. The light of

Islam became useless for them in these three conditions and darkness spread everywhere.
